Typhoon Is Passing...

We had sudden downpours and it turned out that a super typhoon is passing along the coast of Taiwan, heading towards Japan and Korea.

Isaiah went out with Vikki while Abby started her basketball practice!

Alan took a day off and did NOT play any sports... Padres won!

I had errands to take care of and a dear friend came to visit... I did go for another short run... 7kms. This time I didn't need to walk but I ran pretty slowly... I ran like a snail...

And tonight was my first tap dancing class... There were 20 students and we started with basic steps... and getting into the beat. I learned quite a lot... I thought it was quite fun!

I started reviewing Spanish and German and French... I am also trying to learn Japanese and Hebrew! We shall see...

I love II Cor. 5. As I read it again today, it's just a beautiful passage. I was underlining every other sentence! We have a beautiful task... to implore all people to be reconciled to God. Christ has given us His authority! Isaiah wants to go into diplomatic work... well actually, we all are already!

Prayer Walk #3

The day started early... Yes, Mom was up... and ready to roam!

Alan had his championship game and they WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We could not be there, but we were supporting him through prayer!

Abby was the worship leader and she did a great job... Isaiah was a fantastic support on the drums and for singing as well!

The weather was great so the prayer walk really went well!

We came home and put everything away... and just relaxed!

First Run in Three Weeks!

Yes, it's true... I went out this morning... wondering how far I can go...

I ran for 5 km... and had to stop, walk, and run again. Total, I got through 7.7 km! It was a hot morning... so if it was a bit cooler, maybe I could have gone longer. But I definitely can tell that I am still in the 'recovery' mode!

I came back and took a quick shower and we were on our way out the door... Alan and the kids went to the game. I took Mom to her massage. While she was getting the massage, I walked around the area.

After the massage, we headed back up the mountain to pick up Alan and the kids. They won! So... one more game tomorrow...

On the way home, we stopped at a take out place and ordered about 12US$ worth of things. I had rice and veggies already. These were just extras!

Abby went to a friendship game. Alan and Isaiah took a 'nap'. I did another load of laundry because Alan needs his uniform for tomorrow. Yes, I've done a load a day for the past three days!

Family Time... and we also watched TV.

There are times when I feel stuck... and this verse helped me realize that it's the presence of the Lord, it's the Lord's Spirit, that is where we experience a true sense of freedom. We are never 'stuck'.

Winning Streak!

Alan's team has been blowing away all the competition! So, yes, they've won all three of their games and are in the championship now!

I ran errands today... but I didn't try to walk to get them done. I rode my scooter.

This afternoon, I had tutoring and it was very enjoyable.

Isaiah finished his last day of his internship and Abby went out with friends this afternoon! She went to cheer Alan on!

This evening I watched two episodes of Diagnosis Murder! I love old murder mysterious! I found them on YouTube. They are not the best quality, but the positive thing is NO COMMERCIALS!

Verse of Week: Romans 8:13 - philressler.com
This verse holds such powerful truth! We need to live according to the Spirit then we will put to death the deeds of the flesh! We will choose to put to death those deeds that are not pleasing to God. There is no other way! Only as we live according to the Spirit!

Thunder Showers!

I tutored this morning and then ventured out when the thunder showers started.

I love raining days... but I think I over exerted myself... just from a simple walk!

I mailed a small package to Annie and updated Isaiah's post office account book. He got paid for a translation project he finished. Then I went to pay Isaiah's phone bill. I had bags to drop off at the Carrefour bag recycling pins, so I walked over there. I saw a few items on special, so I bought those. I got back in a little over an hour and I had to lay down.

I had tutoring this afternoon and then Mom was home!

I had dinner prepared and Isaiah came home!

Abby went with Alan for his basketball tournament. After they came home, they went over to the pool as Alan needed the cold spa for his sore muscles. He has more games tomorrow and throughout the weekend!

After Mom went to bed, I found an old Columbo movie via YouTube and watched it!

Isaiah and Abby both had tutoring!

I hope to go to bed early tonight!

Still Painful...

I don't when I will be completely recovered... but it's very weird...

I walked three blocks and I came home and laid down... ha, ha, ha... I can't imagine starting back with running...

I had to tutor at 3pm and also at 5pm. I sent Alan to Costco. You know I must be in pain if I sent him there to buy food! ha, ha, ha...

I spent the day preparing for the prayer walk this Sunday and sent off my talk notes and the ppt!

This evening we had counseling... It was a very difficult session with this couple! Please pray.

Isaiah had his internship.

Abby was home and this evening had tutoring for an hour!

Alan didn't have basketball as the tournament starts tomorrow!

Good Day...

I cancelled my morning Bible study... So, I only had to tutor this afternoon. I was feeling pretty good this evening, but I decided to stay home and use video chat. I hope to join next time!

Abby stayed home and prepared for worship on Sunday as she will be leading! In the afternoon, she went and did a short run in the hot sun...

Isaiah had his internship... and he did a skit that will be aired in January!

Both kids had tutoring this evening!

Alan worked on discipleship materials and then went for basketball practice and then to the spa to soak his knee!

Daily Lovely Insight:

PPT - Be Thou Faithful PowerPoint Presentation, free download - ID ...
I watched several short documentaries about early missionaries. For example, William Carey, the shoemaker, who became known as the father of modern missions, suffered greatly. His son died. His wife went insane and later died. He had little funds and saw very few converts in the beginning. Yet, he and others like him persevered with deep convictions that they were doing God's will no matter what obstacles and persecutions or discouragements they faced. It helped me to see that obstacles do not mean to stop. Like Paul or Noah, when you know you are doing exactly what God wants you to be doing, don't let anything deter you.

Abby Passed Her Tests!

Yes, we now have a fourth driver in this family! Abby passed with a 95 on the written... but she barely passed for the course test and road test. But she PASSED and that's what's important! YIPPY!

I tutored this morning and rested in the afternoon before teaching at NSB.

Isaiah had his internship all day plus tutoring this evening.

Alan had basketball practice and then he went to the spa!

Abby after passing, came home, rested and then went to play basketball!

It was hot all day... not a drop of rain... and Padres won! And flooding in China!

Daily Lovely Insight:

1 Corinthians 16:14 Let All That You Do Be Done in Love - Free ...
Paul concluded I Corinthians with this thought. I Cor. 16:14. Of course, I Corinthians is also famous for the "Love Defined" passage! But I think this is an interesting thought... All that I do? All done in love? Love to motivate my actions and words? If every believer followed this one verse, I can see why Jesus said that they will know us by our love. I can see why the early church influenced and invaded all of the Roman empire within the first 400 years of Christ's resurrection!
