Not So Free Day

I thought I was going to have a free day... but it turned out to be quite a busy day.

The reason was --- I volunteered to babysit... it was tremendously fun, but made the day a lot busier than I expected.

It helped me to remember that caring babies is a full time job!!!!!!!!!!

PTA Appreciation Dinner

This has been another busy day.

Met up with James and then tutored. After that I went for a run and did housework. At 4:30, we took off to set things up for the PTA dinner.

I had a blast.

Isaiah and Abby played two songs.

I welcomed people in. I'm very good as a greeter.

We got back by 10pm and I brought home all the leftovers.

Our frig is bursting with so much food. I don't think I need to cook for another three or four days.

Back To Early Morning Runs & the NSB

I forced myself to go out this morning, knowing that if I waited, it would only get hotter and hotter. And it did... until this afternoon.

I had to teach at NSB. Just as I was about to go out, the thunder shower started. So, no chance to ride the bike. I had to go on the scooter. Even then, I got quite drenched. It worked out OK as I looked like I peed on myself for the first 20 minutes of class. But with quick drying shorts, I was able to teach the rest of the time, not feeling so awkward.

How I would have enjoyed a nice run or bike ride in the downpour??? Maybe another day!

Energy-wise I wasn't feeling so exhausted.

Thank you Jesus!

Feeling Exhausted

I don't know if it's the heat or just that exhaustion has caught up with me... but all I wanted to do today was SLEEP!

Looking back at today, I can't say I accomplished a lot. I did give myself time to rest.

I ordered the food for this month's love feast.

I answered emails.

I tidied up the house.

I started to work on my messages.

I didn't have to cook as we have plenty of leftover!

There is a lot more that I didn't get done.  Hopefully, I will feel more energetic tomorrow.

Fabulous Day

Image result for Psalm 5: 7
We met my brother, James, for lunch. We were going to go to a beef noodles place, but it was closed. So, he introduced us to a Japanese pork chop restaurant that was absolutely fabulous. The portions were huge and James treated us, even though it was his birthday! Well... his birthday is on Tuesday, but he will be down in Kaohsuing.

Then we went to church and it was a busy time. We wanted to make a card for Jane and set things up for the service. I also was interviewed by a teacher who will be writing her dissertation on the use of authentic materials in the classroom.

Abby and I were intercessors. It was testimony time as well as a good-bye party for Jane.

The love feast was fabulous. The dessert came out fabulously.

Our car didn't start but this evening, we used our friend's car and got it started.  Yes, the WISH... a dead battery... I hope it is 'fixed'.

Overall, it was a fabulous day.

Good-bye Dear Friends

It was time to say good bye to Nancy, Serge and their kids. What a fun time we had with them!!!

They got to the airport and found out the Eva Airlines overbooked the flight and that they were not on the list.

We all didn't want them to leave, but we didn't think this was the best way... for them to be stuck at the airport.  I prayed and many were praying...

They got on the flight but they had to pay...

Overall, it was a very eventful day!

Gold Mine Museum & JioFen

Today Alan and I along with 11 other people took the local bus to the Gold Mine Museum and the Old Streets of JioFen. It was a great trip.

The bus ride was about 100NT$ one way and the entrance to the Museum was free. There was a charge of 50NT$ to walk through a tunnel that has recently been excavated in order for people to experience what it's like to be in a mine. We then took the bus to JioFen and had lunch and tons of snacks at the old street. I ate so much my stomach was about to burst.  We got back just in time as people were gathering at my house for dinner at 6:30.

I had ordered the food and made rice before leaving in the morning.  Everyone just hung out until a little past 11pm. I got the house cleaned up and sleep felt so good after a nice shower.

It was indeed a great trip and a fun day!

Shihlin Night Market

We have some dear friends here, so tonight we went to the Shihlin Night Market.

I just love walking around this place.

All the sights, the smell, the sounds... it's when I wish I had two stomachs... so many great food and so many great fruit smoothies and milk teas to try...

This morning, I also went to the PTA meeting. I biked there. On the way back, my bike broke down. I had to walk it home in the downpour. I was so exhausted when I got home -- wet and feeling sticky all over from the workout. Well... it wasn't such a workout except that when you have a rain coat on, and it's 90 degrees with 100% humidity... I felt as if I was a walking sauna!

So, today, I had a total of three showers! A first for me!

Most Likely It's Frozen Shoulder

Image result for Psalm 4:3
I went to a blind masseuse... as my shoulder has not gotten better.

Two doctors and now this woman all said the same thing -- it seems like I've got the frozen shoulder problem.  I don't know how people get this... but it sure isn't comfortable.

So, now, I have to do these simple exercises and get a massage three times a week. I will continue to take the Chinese medicine... and of course, I have been praying quite a bit.

Maybe in two weeks time I will have some good news to share!
