A Horrifying Experience!

Now... most of you will laugh... but I had a horrifying experience this evening...

After picking Abby up, I was about to walk into the kitchen when to my utter horror... the biggest ugliest cockroach crawls across my kitchen. I stood in shock. What to do? Options swam through my mind --
1. Throw my slipper at IT. NO... you'd miss and then you'd be without slipper.
2. Ignore IT. NO... it's in my house... I won't be able to sleep.
3. Get the bug spray. NO... it's in the back balcony. IT will get away and I would have to walk past IT to get to the back balcony.
Finally... another option...
GET THE BATHROOM CLEANSER!

I sprayed that thing clean... I then went and got the Fabreeze Fabric Spray and then the Clorox Bleach Spray. That IT became the cleanness best smelling cockroach in all of Asia! I then laid at least 10 pieces of Bounty Paper Towel on top of it before I could even step on IT. Even now as I write about this experience, my heart is pounding... and my mind is swimming with thoughts... are there more? is IT still alive? how am I going to pick up those 10 pieces of paper towels?

Short Summary

Alan and Isaiah and all from the cruise to Mexico are safely back home... They had a great time.

I helped cleaned up a friend's place... and it was a lot of work... I told her I'd help and the Lord gave me the time to do it!

I spoke at HOP today... Luke 1. I pray that the word of God will stir people to know with absolutely certainty that the Gospel is TRUE! And Jesus is REAL!

No time to exercise...

Many churches cancelled their worship service for today, but it was an absolutely beautiful day! No rain... No wind...

I can write more... but I'm absolutely exhausted.

Special Gathering & Stronger Typhoon!

Image result for Psalm 54:10
The day started early... as usual...

I had a conference to go to where I helped to translate. It was a blessed morning. I met so many wonderful people! And there was no sign of the approaching typhoon...

By early afternoon, it started to sprinkle...

By late this evening, the wind started... two weak typhoons had culminated and became a much stronger than expected typhoon... The wind was blowing... trees were down!  We spend the evening at our neighbor's house, eating instant noodles and watching a Christian movie!

What a fun way to end the day...

Oh, Abby and I were planning to go to the gym tonight... but they closed at 6pm because of the typhoon...

By the Strength of God!

Today was a day that Jesus carried me through...

From the moment I finished my time with Jesus, there wasn't a free moment... each meeting rolled from one to another... I barely had time to eat!

Counseling... Training... Helping... Translating...

It was by the strength of God...

This will be a short post...

I must go to bed...

A Work Day!

Yes, I might be retired, but today was a real work day!

I organized my talk notes, checking to see how many I've finished. I then worked on a new talk but I was not able to finish that.

I had to teach this evening. And it was so nice to be in an air conditioned room for two hours...

There is a typhoon looming on the horizon... and it's suppose to hit on Saturday. I think the rain will help to cool off this heat... Overall, I don't think it's going to be that bad. We will see...

Abby was at school the whole day and cram school this evening!

Looking ahead... this weekend is going to be a busy one!

The Heat Continues!

I went for a short walk this morning as Abby and I hit the public pool this afternoon. And I was glad that it was a short walk as the heat was already quite intense at 7:20.

I had set the day to correct some of my students' essays and clean the house. Plus a friend is leaving Taiwan, so I wanted to have time to help her out, if she needed help!

Abby was at school all day, so I scootered over and met up with her at 5:30. We stayed at the pool for two hours. I don't really swim but just jog back and forth in the water! Abby swam 3000 meters!

We had a relaxing evening at home, enjoying homemade smoothies and watching TV!

There were clouds in the sky, but it never rained... I was hoping for some rain to cool off the day... maybe tomorrow!

Double Teaching, Triple Exercise!

Image result for Psalm 54:6
Today was not like yesterday...

I went for an hour run in the morning... AFTER dropping Abby off at the MRT station. So... it was past 7am by the time I started... and I wanted to run 10K. I was hoping to finish in 60 minutes... but it took me 63 minutes. I wanted to finish the last kilometer fast, but my legs did not want to move... I was glad just to get back to the car and gulped down the bottle of lemonade that I had brought!

I tutored in the morning and rushed back home for lunch.

Then, in my insane state of mind, I decided to bike to NSB at 1:30 in the afternoon... YES, IT WAS EXTREMELY HOT! For the first 10 minutes of class, even with the AC on, I was pouring down with sweat... these students all know I'm crazy...

This evening after Abby's cram school, we went for an hour walk along the River Park because she didn't get her exercise in this morning. She didn't have time nor did she want to run!

By the time we got home... sleep just sounded so wonderful!
