Interesting Monday

I was up and Alan was up earlier for the game... they lost... 

Alan went to have the buffet breakfast at the hotel my brother is staying at... yes, he's back up in Taipei. And he loved it... Isaiah took off for work and then I went and ran errands. I had a check to deposit. I also went and bought soy bean milk and updated our postal account books. I stopped by the Toyota dealer to see if they would loan us a better battery... but no... they were not helpful. When I got home, Alan was home. We did a little research and then we had to head out. Off we went to Danhsui. The toilet was clogged yet again. 

This time I went with a snake, borrowed from a friend. It worked... but we don't know if it was completely unclogged or not. We shall see... We headed back home, stopping at a car parts place and looked at the cost of a jump start battery.

We were home by 4pm and will do more research. We would like the car to be moving by Friday as we were hoping or planning to have a trip to Taiping Mountain and go for a nice hike around this beautiful lake... It's a four day weekend! Mid-Autumn Festival and Teacher's Day!

At 5:30, I had prayer time... and then at 8pm we were at church for the in person prayer time.

The day sure had flown by... It was indeed an interesting mix of events...

Sunday!

I was up early... and Isaiah left to play tennis... He needs to exercise more... After his trip to the States, he is now at 85kgs. 

Alan went later... 

And I was home alone... I sat and read CS Lewis. He is such an excellent writer. I can flip to any page in that signature classic and read... and absolutely enjoy it. 

Isaiah came back pretty early and did a load of laundry and took down the recycling and trash. Alan came back about 30 minutes later. 

I did not plan to run any errands... just sat and had my breakfast and then a nice salad for lunch.

What a joyous morning... 

By 2:45, I left for church as I do the Love Cafe set up... 

I also translated for the service. 

After church, I had to go to my friend's house as her daughter couldn't find her glasses. They think they are still at the house. I could not find them and after doing a bit of tidying, I headed home. I was home by 9pm. Alan was already in bed because the Chargers' game is set to start at 4:20. I think he and Isaiah will get up for that...

Monday... ahhhhh... prayer time at 5:30 and prayer time at 8pm... 

We do have to get the car fixed and go over to the Danhsui house to fix the toilet... The week is going to be a busy one... so what else is new?!?!?!

A Typical Saturday!

I was up and had a delightful morning... I finished reading the rest of the chapters for the book, Heaven and continued on my CS Lewis book. That's such a captivating book.

I had tutoring at 11am and took off... the hour flew by. Then I went to get my scooter tuned up and the guy lent me a battery... it didn't work to start the car.

Alan and I went to Mega PX as he needed a new glass protector for his cell phone and we decided to buy lunch there... it was a delightful spontaneous date... 

When we got back, Isaiah said that he can meet up for dinner... we had such a late lunch... but still... it was nice to have Teppanyaki at our usual place at the IKEA Mall... so back we went over there... 

The parking lot had a flea market, but it was wrapping up... oh well... 

Dinner was great and I got some hot dog buns from the grocery store there... 

We were home by 8:30 and Isaiah took Fenny home.

It was a typical Saturday!

Oh... as of today, I have not had a run for two weeks... Wow... God has helped me to not run by keeping the weather quite HOT... My knee is feeling better, but I know that it has not fully recovered!

Great MOE Day

I woke up early... and it was my MOE Day...

I was there on time and the editing project is still being being reviewed... SO... I had a free day... YIPPY!

I read... and at lunch time, I walked to ask about a check... I didn't make my step goal... and it was hot... 

I was heading to my tutoring at 5:05 and made it there early... 

The hour went by fast and I was home by 8pm... Alan was having a grilled cheese sandwich and I had a salad... YUMMY!

Prayer time at 8:45 and then I had the rest of the evening free... The weekend has started!

Movie & Reading Time

I was up and had planned the day... 

Since Alan is back, he had the external DVD player. I had planned to finally watch the Jane Eyre BBC 2006 Version. I borrowed the DVDs from the local library, but could not play them on our Blu-Ray DVD player as the 'region' was not compatible. 

After Alan and Isaiah both left for work, I started on the DVDs. What an enjoyable morning.

I then worked on my talk and ppt for September 28th. 

Reviewing memory verses and reading on the sofa were also on the agenda for the day... 

Needless to say, the time flew by!

I had tutoring at 6:00pm... and it takes about 40 minutes on my scooter to get to this kid's house... 

90 minutes... On the way home, I stopped at the library... three more books came... I also reserved Theo the Golden, so that should be coming in the next few days... I didn't pick up the book until after the tutoring as I didn't want to spend the entire day reading, like I did last Thursday! I'm going to bring the book for my MOE Day... I'm not sure how much free time I will have...

Alan had basketball this evening... Isaiah had a baseball game. 

Prayer time at 8:45.

I got things together for my MOE Day tomorrow... plus tutoring!

Alan Is Back!

I was up and ready to go pick him up... but the car didn't start... so he took a taxi from the SongShan Airport... It was only 9US$! We will work on the car at another time...

He unpacked his clothes and I unpacked the box sent from Annie... IT WAS AN ENTIRE BOX OF OLD PHOTO ALBUMS... NEXT SUMMER PROJECT. What I noticed was many of them were only half filled... so I will need to go over them and fill them up... most of the pictures are Mom and Daddy George... so... I will have to decide to keep or not... It will take a block of time to get that done.

Alan went to play tennis and to the sports center while I finished all the unpacking and organizing and putting  things away. I was finished at around 11am! YIPPY! His clothes were all still on the bed!

He came back at 1pm and ate lunch and turned on the AC... ha, ha, ha... and took a nap!

I had tutoring at 3:40, so I took off at 3:15... on the way home I stopped to buy the 2027 filler for his date book and had tutoring at 6pm.

I was glad to be home... 

Alan had taken off to meet up with my brother at Miramar Mall for dinner... YIPPY!

Prayer time at 8:45!

Please pray as Isaiah met with the real estate agent and the worker to access the problem with the leak in his house. No one wants to take the responsibility to pay for repair... is it the fourth floor responsibility? Is it the previous owner's? I will keep you posted!

Cooler Nicer Tuesday

I was up but I was not out... still no running... 

I had Bible study this morning, so I took off just a bit earlier. We had five sisters and the time flew by. While at my Bible study, Alan texted me saying that his flight is so delayed that he won't make his connecting flight. So, they sent him to Eva Air and China Air and he got on the China Air flight which is the same flight that Isaiah came back on some 10 days ago. Direct and arriving by 5:10. Amazing!

I got home, after stopping to get soy bean milk and pick up a book from the library. The other books have not arrived.

I turned on the WiFi as I needed to test our new desk top to tutor at 3:30... and I noticed that I forgot to post my blog from yesterday... but no problem... still Monday in the States. ha, ha, ha...

Class with my student on line went well... and we have set up what we want to do this semester. We will meet only twice a month.

It was nice to have the evening free... 

I was thinking about going out for a walk, but decided to stay home to finish my blog, prep for my talk... and to READ!

Of course, I had prayer time at 8:45!

I was to have tutoring at 6:30, but that was cancelled... I'm not complaining.

What A Monday!

I was up... and it was a repeat... yes, I scootered over to the Metropolitan and had the breakfast. My brother did come and sit to chat as we said he wasn't having breakfast.. I didn't want him to pay... 

It finished at 10am and he went for a workout at the hotel gym and I took the MRT to meet up with a friend. It's our usual second Monday of the month time... and she is considering buying an apartment for her mom, so we walked over. It needs renovation... but it's a nice little suite... 

We went back to her place and talked and prayed and then I had to leave at 1:45 as I had a friend coming to my house at 3pm. So, off we went... she went to work and I came back home. I took the MRT back to the hotel and rode home... I got back right on time... 

The friend stayed for about 45 minutes and had to leave... and then I started working on these forms that a shipping company needs in order to release the Amazon goods that my brother had ordered... what a headache... 

The day was so hot... that made it easier for me to NOT BE OUT RUNNING... And looking at the weather, it's going to be hot all week... I'm grateful... I haven't hit my step goal for the last 5 days... especially since I've spent most of my time READING... and enjoying that tremendously... My knee is feeling much better... So, we will see how much longer...

This evening I had my Revelation in person Bible study. What a wonderful group of sisters...

Isaiah was home... 

I came home and got a few things done and read in bed... I just love it!

Feasting Sunday

Yes... it's true... I got up and after my time with Jesus, I headed out to the Metropolitan Hotel... that's where my brother is staying... it's about a 25 minute scooter ride... remember: I ride slow... 

He gave me one of his room keys and I swiped to go in for the breakfast buffet... I barely touched 1/7 of all that was served... Isaiah or Alan should be eating here... they had Egg Benedict or rather an "EGG SPECIALTY BAR"... where the chef will make whatever you'd like to your liking... poached eggs or sunny side up or omelette... then they had a noodle bar... and a congee bar and a sushi bar and a salad bar and... ok, you get the idea... 5-star hotel buffet breakfast. I enjoyed the time but it finished at 10am... 

So, I headed to church for the Young Adults Group... it was only Isaiah and I. I did bring things for a gal to pick up and she arrived, late, but at least she did show up... she's from the Buy Nothing group.

We finished at 12:15 and I headed home to do a load of laundry and to bake a banana cranberry cake for Love Cafe. I had already set everything up before leaving... Only the coffee and tea need to be made...

I was home by 1pm and Isaiah went for a massage... two hours! 

He led worship and I was the MC and the translator for the speaker... The message again was just superb. Click the link below to watch it!

What A Saturday!

I was up... and I knew the day was going to be packed... 

For one thing, my brother was arriving from Malaysia and we planned to have dinner together... 

OK... so... since I'm still resting from running... 

The morning flew by... with reading... and I'm getting back to Bible memory... Reading about the early church and how they 'sang' or talked about the word of God from memory have really ignited my heart to get back to memorizing verses...

Isaiah took off to meet up with Fenny and I had tutoring... 

When that was finished, I had a simple lunch and went to drop off things to a friend's house and help with tidying things up... And then I had an appointment for a two hour massage with Ms. Hsieh... 

I came home to take a quick shower and then met up with my bro... He went and bought the food and we enjoyed it together and then Isaiah and Fenny came late... it was fun... we finally took off at 8:30.

I was home to blog and get things ready for tomorrow.

He has free buffet breakfast at the hotel so I'm going to enjoy it... ha, ha, ha before going to the Young Adults group. That's tomorrow... which I will write about...

MOE Day

I was up... and yes, the clouds welcomed my greetings...

Isaiah left for work... and soon after that, I took off... I try to get to work before 9am.

Today, we finished the booklet that needed editing... and I still had time to check the news and read. Again, a delightful day!

At around 4:45, I received a message... NO TUTORING... YEAH! I was so thrilled... I can even express the happiness... I wanted to be home and just read... chill... 

So, I was home by 6:10... and ate dinner... blogged... and relaxed...

Prayer at 8:45... 

Isaiah went to another baseball game... 

Oh... My brother messaged me... He's here from September 12 to the 24th, so we're meeting up for dinner tomorrow night... ha, ha, ha... And supposedly, he might be coming more often to Taiwan... for his new business venture...

Perfect Sabbath

I was up and enjoyed my time... no rush... even though my legs and my heart wanted to be out... trotting along the river side park... listening to birds and greeting fellow joggers along the path...yes, the air is cooler and my favorite weather is just around the corner.

Isaiah took off and I started reading... A friend had recommended the first book by Francine Rivers. I got it from the library... and I finished it by 5:30. It was non stop reading... I would check my phone from time to time, but I didn't even turn on the WiFi.

I also made a mug of coffee or a piece of toast with butter and cream cheese... I also read A Grief Observed... but A Voice in the Wind is so riveting... the slaughter in Jerusalem... the persecution of the early Christians... the slaves in Roman time... the lifestyle of the Romans... I had studied this... but now to read it in a historical fiction romance... that was tough... To think the gladiator killed some who he had considered to be his friend... and the promiscuity of that time... it's the same or even worst than today... It's hard to comprehend... and the community of believers... It was a great book... I've reserved Book 2 and 3... I should get them in a week... I'm glad as I probably won't sleep if I got them tomorrow!

I had several things planned... I went and donated blood... no gift... but no line... so that worked out. I had an appointment to see about my knee... It's aging... I'm praying...

Then I had tutoring at 6pm... and that went well... I was home by 8pm.

I had dinner... a nice salad and Isaiah was home. He had two hot dogs... 

Prayer time at 8:45 and I finally went to bed at 12...I should have been in bed earlier as it's my MOE day plus tutoring...  

The week has flown by...

Ordinary Wednesday

The Magic of Ordinary Days... I think that's the name of a book... and a movie... 

That's how I'd describe today... 

I was up and again, I was greeted with clouds... and cooler weather.

Isaiah took off and I had some time before I headed off to tutor... 

I set up the back balcony with a plastic rack that I found... it worked out quite well... And I sat and read some... 

Tutoring went well... Tutoring adults is so much easier... as long as I prepare, the time flies by!

I was home by 1pm and used the time to prep for my message on 9/28.

I also had a delicious lunch. (I had a delicious breakfast... leftover egg Benedict from Saturday get together with my co-workers from Ming Chuan!)

I left at 3pm as I wanted to stop at the library... My books came in... the complete work of CS Lewis and the Great Gatsby. I arrived on time for tutoring... 

That hour flew by and I was home and exchanging my 'bag' for the next tutoring at 6pm.

I was home by 7:30, after stopping to get gas... and prayer time was at 8:45.

Isaiah went to a baseball game at the Dome... that's the big stadium... versus the Tienmu Stadium. Yes, he's going to another game on Friday. It seems as if he has fully adjusted to being back in Taipei.

Tuesday

I was up and felt so grateful for the cooler feel of the morning air... and sad that I'm grounded... 

Isaiah took off and I got ready as I had promised a friend to attend an 'event'... at the Legislative Yuan... Lots of speeches and VIPS... but not my cup of tea... I enjoyed sitting off to the side with the students who were asked to come... that was fun!

I left early! They had bento boxes, but I had other things to do... I went and bought the calendar inserts for 2027. I only bought one... I'll see if Alan wants one... as I couldn't quite remember the size of his planner. Then I went to the post office and came home... 

Lunch was a delicious salad... and then a nap!

I had called the plumber to come and change the toilet parts for the outside bathroom. He came at 3pm and when he was finished (1500NT$), I took off for tutoring... 

This kid is again wigging out of being committed to working hard... I brought the computer so that we can do some things together. He needs to read the required books... and he's not... So, I sat there forcing him to read!

I was finished by 7:45 and headed back home... prayer time at 8:45... 

I then prepped for the long day of tutoring tomorrow... from 11-7!

I forgot to mention yesterday that Annie had bought me some corn nuts... one bag was somewhat regular: sea salt... but the other two were SALT AND VINGAR flavor... oh how joyous... she also sent three apple fritters... of course, I had found two that I hadn't eaten in the freezer. So, now I have a total of five! That's going to last me an entire year!

Monday "Madness"

I was up early... though not as early as usual... and that's because I am most likely not going to be running or jogging or trotting this week. I'm letting my knee heal...

Now, someone asked about the fact that I have not mentioned the recycling much in my blog posts... Is it because the situation has so improved?

The truth is: it's now so messy that I don't know where to start... The outside large bins are now gone, so they've set these round trash cans out there. And with the rain, they are absolutely disgusting. The recycling area in B1 is now a 'free for all' style... the bins don't seem to match what they were labeled for. I do still go and help but what I do now is very minimal... I just pull out the bags and change to new ones. The bags that are filled are just set aside... There is no scheduled pick up date... I wait to see what other neighbors think of this 'new not improved' situation. There is a meeting coming up in September!

Ok... back to Monday... 

Isaiah is back... His plane landed at 5:12am and he took the bus to the Song Shan Airport! I was there by 7:15 but his bus hit traffic... so... I waited... At least the car started! YIPPY!

We unloaded everything and I started unpacking. He went for his physical, which is mandatory from his work. So, it's like a free morning... He was home by 11:30 and we had lunch. He went to work at 1:30.

I had unpacked and put the box down to the recycling... and gave the black suitcase away! I had organized my food cabinets before Isaiah's return, so it was great to get everything put away. Annie had bought lots of cake mixes... YIPPY! They will be perfect as I do bake for church and for Soochow Bible study which is starting back in a few weeks.

I blogged for church as the message yesterday was absolutely a blessing... If you haven't watched it, you should!

At 3pm, I headed out as I had a few errands to run... paying bills and going to church to meet up with a sister for prayer!

7pm was our monthly HOP Meeting and Prayer time... IN PERSON!

I was glad to be home...

Tranquil Sunday

I was up and had my time in the study... 

I was in no rush... Yes, there was church... and I wanted to bake... but with the rain, I decided to do things around the house... set the iRobot to mop and I did sweeping... I sat and read... and had a wonderful breakfast... or rather brunch. Rueben Sandwich with extra sauerkraut and mustard!

I had a nice nap and then went off to church early. I had a couple of items that someone was going to pick up from church.

I did bake a strawberry cream cheese cake and brought it to church... and set up Love Cafe. I was also the translator for the service!

The message was so anointed... Such JOY Christ has bestowed upon us...

We had Love Feast... I prayed with a couple of people and finally got home at 8pm.

I blogged and set things up for Isaiah's lunch... He is due back tomorrow morning at 5:10... So I had to sleep early...

NO STAYING UP TO READ... Sad, sad, sad... In fact, it looks like a busy week for me... but no running. I have to rest my knee... SAD, SAD, SAD... BUT with the message today... there is still great joy!

Busy Saturday...

I was up... and went out later as it was drizzling... but my knee wasn't doing well... I jogged 6KM... 

I got back and took a shower and ate breakfast before heading out to the library... YUP! I renewed my library card, returned books and checked out more books... then I headed to Tienmu for a luncheon with my co-workers from Ming Chuan. We've all retired... and we have not seen each other for three years!

The restaurant kicked us out at 2:10, giving us more than 2 hours there to chat... 

I then scootered over to the Danhsui house as the toilet is plugged... I tried for an hour... we shall see...

I was home by 5pm... And feeling TIRED!

But I had very little time to rest as I had made an appointment for a massage at 6:30... I wanted to cancel, but decided I should go... Why did I want to cancel? You guessed it... I thought staying home to read was a lot more enticing... CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?!?!?!?!?!

I started on Persuasion and got Oliver Twist... ha, ha, ha... 

Of course, the massage was fabulous... The time always goes by so quickly... And my knee felt revived afterwards... Wow... I should make this a weekly thing!

Yes, Another MOE Day!

I was up... not early... no run... although it was my favorite weather... RAIN!

I had the box down for pick up and I had to give the guard the envelope with the slip and money plus someone was coming to pick up a pair of Nike collector's shoes... They were not new... but still quite nice.

And then since the rain was so heavy, I left early and I was completely soaked when I arrived at the MOE Office... down to my underwear and everything I brought to change into was all soaked... and even the towel... 

Oh well... 

The day flew by... I had things to do... editing that brochure... I finished and did have time to catch up on news... and read the book I brought. It was a delightful day.

I also had my breakfast, lunch, snack... milk tea, milk coffee... it was just a great day!

I rode to tutor and was again soaked... and late... I went until 7:30 and came home at 8:10... and boy, it felt so good to be home.

Prayer time at 8:45. I blogged and checked my email... 

Tomorrow I'm going to go to the library... I have books that have arrived... but my week of reading has flown by. 

Yes, I did stay up tonight... so delightful!

I had music placing and just enjoyed the evening...

READING & RESTING THURSDAY

I was up and enjoyed a wonderful morning... no rush... 

The library was closed... first Thursday of the month... so... I didn't go and pick up any books... that's OK... I read what I had... and reread the books that I so enjoy...

Trust me... the morning flew by and since it was drizzling, I went and hobble 6km and came home for a nice shower and lunch. I made myself a delicious salad... and took an afternoon nap...

I posted things to give away and the guy came to pick up. I then did a little dusting and rearranged my curio cabinet... Quite nice.

The rain was coming down hard... but at 5:15, I had to venture out... tutoring at 6pm... 90 minutes... and then prayer time at 8:45.

Alan and Isaiah sent pictures. They are enjoying their time at the US Open. 

Isaiah is set to be back by Monday... WAHHHHHHHH... and Alan will be back 10 days later... WAHHHHH... Not that I don't love them... but... my 'house to myself' days are over.

Annie said that she is sending lots over... ha, ha, ha... so I will have to take the time to unpack everything... that's another 'task' that I guess I can look forward to... Alan for sure will be buying lots of donuts... and I have been trying to clear out my freezer, but I don't eat enough to make a dent... I am baking every Sunday, but still... Things are not disappearing fast enough... When Isaiah is back, that will help!

I had to go to bed early... MOE Day... so no staying up until 1am to read... sad, sad, sad... I will do that on Friday and Saturday...

Reading Wednesday!

Yes, it's true... I was up and did not go out for my 6km until 3:33...

I went and got the box and packed it up to be picked up on Friday. It will be shipped to the Philippines. I had too much stuff, so I posted what was left on Buy Nothing. People will be coming to pick up this week!

Then... You guessed it... I was on the sofa and reading... And yes, I finished another book and reviewed for my study tonight from Revelation...

After lunch, I did take a nap... and no one dropped by... yeah!

Now you might have noticed that I didn't write about helping with the recycling pick up... because they now have decided to PAY for that service to be done... we shall see... 

As I mentioned earlier, I went to run in the afternoon... 6KM, less than an hour and came home to shower and do a load of laundry.

Alan and Isaiah are in New York... And Alan sent pictures, so it looks like they are having a wonderful time. They will go to the courts tomorrow... I'm not sure what stage the games will be... but they should be able to catch quite a few matches.

I had tutoring at 6pm... And the hour flew by.

I was home by 7:20 and did a load of laundry. A very small load... Why not???

Then prayer time at 8:45 and I blogged and checked emails... and ... you guessed it -- READ, READ, READ!

Oh... I do want to say that for today, I had scheduled to watch the 'movie', Shadowlands... It was based on C.S. Lewis' book, A Grief Observed. It was so good... sad... but so amazing... Like the book, Through the Eyes of the Lion by Levi Lusko, everything on this side of the Jordan pales in comparison to HEAVEN. We live in Shadowlands and Satan wants to think that life is so great here... but... we will miss out on the best if we believe him. I have never read A Grief Observed, so I went online and found it at our Public Library and hopefully, I will get that book soon... 

Tomorrow, I do plan to go to the library as I have books to return... yes, I've finished most of what I had borrowed... I do want to renew a couple of the books that I've so enjoyed. I want to re-read them!

Reading Tuesday

I was up... and of course, I am not getting up early enough because I'm not going to be early enough... I read last night until 1am... 

I went and ran 6km... I just wanted to home to read...

I had my breakfast and sat and finished another book... excellent book... 

A neighbor came by as he has dining room chairs to give away. He stayed to chat... 

After he left, I continued to read... 

I finally turned on the WiFi at 4pm and proceeded to see if any more books had arrived at the library for me to pick up.

I had dinner plans and on the way, I was to help someone pick up some items. And when I left, it was such a down pour... wow... I got to both appointments on time... 

Dinner was at a new buffet restaurant. SO DELICIOUS! Her treat... I was so full...

I got home late for prayer time as the rain was again coming down hard. I made it by 8:52!

When that was finished, I blogged and cleaned up and sat and read some more... ha, ha, ha... 

DAY 2 finished all too fast...
