Cool Picture

This was taken on the last day of class. I love green... and this student photoshopped the picture so beautifully. He uploaded it on FB and then when I asked how I can get a copy of the picture, he wrote back in ENGLISH with the instructions.  What am I going to miss about being retired?  It is definitely seeing my students grow in their love for learning!

Abby's Graduation

My sweet little girl has graduated from Xi Hu Elementary School. I can't believe it.  These are pictures from the day -- on stage receiving an award, with her diploma and her teacher, the front steps to her school and with her classmates during the ceremony.  Truly, how fast the years have flown by.  She has so many fond memories of being at this school and all the activities she joined and the friends she has made.  It was a God-thing for her to transfer from Wen Hu to Xi Hu some three years ago.  Absolutely no regret... only joyful memories.

A Few More Pictures

Amazing 3D Exhibition

Another thing we did -- we went to the 3D exhibition and took over 100 pictures. It was very crowded. The first time we went, the wait was 2 hours and 30 minutes. So, we had to just buy the tickets and try to go at another time. Knowing how popular this exhibition was, we decided to go in the morning right when it opened, and still the wait was 30 minutes.  We decided to wait and it was worth the wait.

Dragon Boat Fun

Alan's school has a group joining this year's Dragon Boat Races as part of the celebration. So, for one of their Saturday practices, Alan and Abby went over and joined the team.  According to their report, it is not as easy as you might imagine.  The river didn't smell as bad as they had expected and it really does take a lot of teamwork.  Abby was sore for a few days.  But they had FUN.  They won't be able to join the actual race as all the spots of this year's team have been filled.  Maybe next year... and all FOUR of us will join the team.

Alan and Abby

I want to thank those who log on to look at pictures or to read what's been happening in our lives through our family blog. I try to write once a month and it is always so amazing to see how fast time has flown by.  The last time I logged on and uploaded something was back in the middle of May. Thank you for those who emailed me and said that the remodeling looks great.  Thank you all for your prayer support.  We love hearing from you.

This month I have just logged on and uploaded four new postings.  I hope you enjoy the pictures and the short narratives!  More will be coming as we have been involved in so many things in these past four weeks!

Abby wrote a paper about her relationship with her dad.  So, they went out to the local park and Isaiah helped to capture these photos.  It was wonderful to read the paper.  They have a very special relationship!  Alan was saying that these are the pictures that will be on her wedding slide show!!!!

Another Speech Contest

Isaiah joined yet another English Speech Contest at his junior high school and won first place. His story was very interesting and creative. They had to look at the picture and make up a story. Most kids just described the picture, but Isaiah created a story based on the picture.  His voice was loud and clear and the story was quite funny.

Final Days

As some of you already know, I have decided to retire from Ming Chuan University.  I have been teaching here for the past 25 years.  I had my last few classes of this school year and took some pictures. There was also a potluck luncheon for myself and another dear teacher who is also retiring.  I still love teaching as I still love my students.  That has been one of the most difficult things -- saying goodbye to them.  Although I won't be teaching them, I will continue to pray for them.  I want them to find Jesus!

Watermelon Basketball Tournament

Alan has been coaching these kids all year.  It's a big thing among the 6th graders as the classes compete against each other for the honor of winning the prized WATERMELON.  After playing four games total, they won in the final game by ONE point.  I could not be there as I would have just screamed my head off. I was there for the first game and did just that. So, I stayed home and kept the kids in prayer. Alan asked these kids to pray before the game.  Most of the kids are not believers, but they love Alan.  So, to finally win was such a joyous occasion.  These past two days have been really hot, so they are going to enjoy that watermelon. They earned it.  And they earned the 'right' to be NUMBER ONE!
