No Workers...

It was nice not having any workers coming over...

Mom was up early... and it has been so nice to use the alcohol wipes that Annie left for us... very helpful!

Isaiah and I took Mom over to the self serving car wash and got our car cleaned up... Mom enjoyed being out...

In the afternoon, Abby and I had a 90 minute oil massage... and it was perfect as we could use their shower... YIPPY.

We went and picked pictures this evening...

The weather was quite warm... Alan went to the workout center. His calf is hurting plus he can take a shower there... We are planning to use the shower on Monday... we are going to put up the shower curtain so that we don't splash water every where... And praying that it doesn't leak.

One interesting thing: a friend was watching TV this morning and saw my mom and I on TV. She got out her cell phone and took pictures of the program and sent them to me. It was a well known program and today's topic was related to dementia.

Peace Day...

I tutored today... and Mom had no program...

Abby had basketball practice and Isaiah went to hang out with Vikki...

The workers came for the morning and finished the outside bathroom... amazing... Next week will be the inside bathroom and hopefully we will get both of the sliding doors installed and we can start taking showers.

No news on the kitchen estimate as they are trying to find if the counter top material can be shipped from Korea... Nothing is being shipped from China! So... we might hit a snag for the kitchen work.

I have new referrals for tutoring... I was trying to hand over some to Kurtis, but that won't work as they want afternoons... YIKES! These new students are from international schools in China and since they are stuck here, the parents want to beef up their school work as they are doing everything on line.

This evening, Abby and Mom went for a massage... I went to the place where Annie & KR stayed and moved all the blankets... That was a lot of work as I parked about 700meters from the place and I had to make two trips. Blankets and pillows are heavy!

Mom enjoyed the massage as she had no program and was feeling bored! After she went to bed, we had family time! Abby and I went for a late evening walk...

Oh... what happened to Alan and I... NO DATE!!!!

Safe Arrival... and The Work Continues...

The workers were here at 8:30 and our room was 'sealed' off with plastic as they started to rip out the bath tub... The other workers continued with the outside bathroom and finished all the tiling. Amazing!

The kitchen guy came and drew up the ;layout and showed us the cabinet and counter colors for us to choose from... we have not yet received the price quote. They will give that to us tomorrow... YIKES!

We all had to take a shower at our neighbor's... except for me. I went to tutor and then went over to the suite that Annie and KR were staying at. I changed clothes and then went for a run. I then cleaned the stuff and took down the trash and took a shower. I had to figure out how to turn on the hot water for the shower!

I scootered back and we had guests at our house and the house was a total mess... from the workers and just general 'things everywhere'... So I tidied up and had to rush off to a student's concert at Soochow University. It was really a great concert!

I came home by 9:45 and Abby and Alan were watching TV. Isaiah came back from basketball practice just minutes later...

So I sit here blogging... tomorrow the cement worker will come as that is a quiet job... and Mom won't have any program at the Center as it's Peace Day. I do have to tutor... and take a practice ride down to a new teaching opportunity... That will start on Wednesday of this coming week.

I better head off to bed... Annie and KR have safely arrived back to the States...

The Bathroom Continues... Goodbye to Annie & KR...

The workers arrived and started... and hopefully, we will have them start on the other bathroom TOMORROW! Even though we won't have a shower to use, we want the work to move ahead... The problem is that 2/28 is a holiday... so by our complex rule, remodeling work is limited to tasks that are 'noiseless'... no hammering or knocking down things. Thus, if we can get that done, they can progress with other tasks on 2/28 and even on 2/29! I'll keep you posted. And yes, the kitchen guy will be coming tomorrow morning to measure and give us a quote.

KR and Kurtis ate something wrong and had diarrhea this morning. So, they stayed put while Annie and I went out shopping. I rode the scooter... and the only thing she can say -- SHE SURVIVED!

Tonight we had dinner at home... And then Alan took them to the airport...

I'll see them in less than two weeks...

I cancelled all my tutoring jobs for today...

Isaiah had tutoring this evening...

Abby and Isaiah had practice this morning...

It was a hot day... and this evening, Abby and I went for our evening walk...

Annie et el Returning to Taipei... Bathroom Continues...

The day started early... That's the way it'll be for these next two weeks...

Alan dropped Mom off while I waited for the workers...

After going over the details of what they will be doing, I left for my Bible study group...

It was great to be together with the sisters...

We had lunch together and I was back home...

Abby and Alan were home, while Isaiah had a friendship match out in Linkou. He rode his scooter all the way there!

I went for a run in the heat... almost melted...

Then it was off to tutoring. Alan took care of Mom... Abby had tutoring this evening...

On the way home, I stopped off at Costco to pick up more milk and hash brown!

I've cancelled all tutoring for tomorrow so that I can hang out with Annie. She might want to do some shopping...

It Has Started...

Yes, the workers arrived at 8:30... and one of the bathroom stalls is completely knocked out... I'm not sure what's the next step...

And the kitchen guy won't be here until Thursday. So, we don't need to keep pulling stuff out of the cabinets in the kitchen. That's a relief. We will get the estimate and work will probably start next week. So, no kitchen work this week.

I went to tutor while Alan stayed home with the workers.

Annie, KR and Kurtis are now in Tainan and having a great time. It's hot down there... and it was hot here as well...

With the remodeling, our house is quite a mess... but Mom can still use the toilet and sink in her bathroom... I'm so thankful!

Time to Rest...

All I wanted to do today was to sleep and sleep some more...

But... we had to get boxes and consider putting everything in boxes if we are going to get the kitchen done. I also had to go to the library and find a place to get Isaiah's shoes fixed... I also had to get on line to look for containers for Annie. Maybe she will order some and I'll bring them back in March.

Church at 2:30... and I was the translator...

The message was powerful: Ps. 90,Counting our days...

The kids came back and did their chores... and we had family time after Mom went to bed.

Annual Photos...

Well... we went and got our photos done...

We wore four of the Olympics colors and black pants! Our theme this year was "Eventful 2020" -- skiing trip, elections, Olympics and the corona virus... and who knows what else will be happening... Our verse for 2020 is perfect!

People may have planned many things, but only the Lord's purpose will prevail!

The day went by so fast. I tutored in the morning and had time to go for a longer run this afternoon.

Annie and KR and Kurtis are enjoying themselves in Taidong. They didn't do much... but they did try to surf but the waves weren't that great. Tomorrow, they head out to Tainan.

After we finished the annual photos, we bought snacks and enjoyed them while watching TV.
