Balaam Message

Today was the last of my talks for this month...

I had three in a row at three different churches with three different messages!

God used the message to speak to His people.

1. We are children of God who sometimes fall short... NOT we are sinners who sometimes follow God.

2.  God sometimes calls us to be the 'donkey', to be the obstacle, to help slow someone down who is heading towards destruction. The person might be angry with you... might want to 'kill' you... but perhaps what you are doing will lead the person to see and to repent.

3.  Beware of following the letter of the law and violating the spirit of the law! This will lead to outward actions but having no true convictions when it comes to heart issues! God does not sit on the throne of our heart and thus, we will waiver and cross the lines that we've set!

I can't believe it's the end of another month...

I won't be blogging for the next few days as we are going to take Mom to Taichung and around the island as the kids and Alan have spring break...

Yes, It Happened Again...

I did not have time to post yesterday... That was how busy the day ended up being...

We dropped Mom off at her elderly program and went straight down to Taichung for a counseling appointment!

God parted the Red Sea and the Jordan River.

It takes about three hours down and three hours back and we had a 90 minute appointment. We had to be back by 5:30!

God helped us get there by 12:30, so we had time for lunch and get one errand done.

We left at 3pm and got back by 5:15 to meet up with Abby. She helped to pick Mom up at 4:15 and took Mom for a massage with the Eden Foundation.

We all went out to dinner and then Abby went to tutor!

Since we were gone for the whole day, I had things to get done in the house.  Abby got back at 8pm and we started our Friday Night Family Time. It went long as we had things to deal with!

We ended the evening watching a couple of episodes of NCIS-LA!

It was 12:45 by the time I headed to bed!

What A Crazy Day!

Isaiah had said he could be home with my mom on the Thursdays that I teach at the New Taipei Foreign Police Station. BUT... because he had his tennis tournament on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the only day that he could arrange the Franklin Scholarship Interview was today at 11am. So, I had to get my mom to the elderly day care, drive and park the car, hop on the MRT to get to Banchiao to teach, starting at 10:30!

And when I finished teaching, I had to take the MRT back. I drove back home at 2pm.

I quickly put in a load of laundry, changed into my running clothes and did a 25 minute run!

I was back by 3pm and took a quick shower.

I was out the door at 3:45 after I hung up the clothes and got Mom's dinner made! I picked Mom up and had to rush back as I had to tutor at 5pm.

We were home by 4:45 and I put on Little House and dashed off. I was 5 minutes late!

I finished at 6:20 and was home by 6:35!

Mom's dinner was already made, so I just had to heat it up. Isaiah was home. He said the interview went well!

After dinner, I got Mom settled into her bedtime routine and I had lots of tasks to get done before Alan and Isaiah and Abby got home!

God carried me through because I seriously didn't think I was going to make it through this day!

Never Enough Time!

I thought I'd have more time to do things now that Mom has started her elderly care program... but I come home after dropping her off and the minutes just fly by...

In fact, I only had time for a 25 minute run!

I had to go and tutor at 5pm. Alan went to pick up Mom...

Isaiah's tennis team got third place!

Tonight we had counseling again!

Getting More On Track!

It's been such a blessing to have my mom at the elderly day care center. She seems to enjoy being there and I've been able to feel less stressed and more connected to life, not just focused on taking care of my mom!

The day flies by...

I realized that the trip to the daycare center and back takes about an hour! So, I don't usually get back home until 11:30. By 3:30, I'm heading back to the center. So, I really only have four hours! But those hours are precious.

Yesterday I worked on finishing my talk notes. Today I worked on tutoring and class prep. I also did housework. I still only have time for a quick 20-30 minute run... but the weather today was just marvelous! This whole week is looking really nice.

Isaiah was at his tennis tournament. I'm not sure if their team moved up...

Abby had class and went to work for Lifting Hands.

Alan had evening class.

After Mom went to bed, I took the time to shut my eyes for a bit... that felt so good! I think I've been a bit sleep deprived and my stomach wasn't feeling well...

A Very Wet Day!

Isaiah was supposedly be in a tennis tournament but it was a down pour... so they had to postpone and start tomorrow. I went for a quick run during a break in the rain!

The rest of the day I spent working on my talk for Sunday!

Mom was at the elderly program... but I didn't drop her off until 11am because I couldn't find parking. With the rain, everyone was driving their car! I picked her up at 4:30 and yes, they told me she was digging... but they know that now. So they are vigilant about supervising her! And she has a very good appetite!

This evening we had counseling and we think there was a breakthrough tonight!

Another Double Sunday!

I went to the Chinese church this morning and shared from Ps. 22, 23 and 24. I learned so much from the preparation of this talk. I had no idea that these three were connected and are progressive. I also learned that Ps. 22 has the most prophetic fulfillment of Jesus in the New Testament.

On the way home, I did a quick detour and went to Costco!

We had a wonderful HOP service.

When we came home, I got Mom to bed and then cut Isaiah and Alan's hair... They really needed it.

Then we had time to watch TV...

Even though it was an packed day... the Lord gave me strength!

A Day to Rest!

Today was filled with many unplanned events...

I spent the morning making reservations for our upcoming spring break trip... Taichung, Yulin, ChingJing...

Then I went for a longer run since I missed my quick run yesterday. I didn't go to my usual trail as they are tearing down a whole area to build another apartment building! So, I went to the River Park. I haven't been there in ages... My legs were moving faster than normal... and I finished my 10k loop in less than an hour... I was quite surprised. In fact, if I pushed myself, I could have done it in less than 55 minutes!

On the way back, I saw the blood mobile and they were giving free movie tickets. I went home, took a quick shower and got in line to donate blood.

I had made dinner reservation for 5:30 as the kids and Alan were going to the movies at 7pm. The line to donate blood was so long that I didn't get started until about 5:30! It was a two hour WAIT! Alan and the kids and my mom went ahead...

I had bought coupons for this new restaurant. The food was great, but it was a bit expensive. I don't think we'll go there again!

I dropped them off and headed back home with Mom. They went to see Captain Marvel. Isaiah said that the movie was filled with "Easter Eggs". Alan said it was OK. Abby rated the movie a 6.5!
