A Work Date!

Alan and Abby were home this morning to watch the first NBA Championship game... The Raptors won! She missed her first class to stay home to watch...

Alan and I then went out to a Cantonese place for lunch... and worked on finishing up the Retreat workshops! It was a very productive afternoon.

Alan went to pick up Mom while I went for my run... the weather was hot all day but by 5pm, it had cooled down... NICE!

We had our Family Time this evening...

Finished Retreat Workshops "Notes"

My goal was to finish the talk notes for all the upcoming sharing opportunities that I have in June and July! So, this morning, on two different computers, I was working on the two retreat workshops and my last talk. They are all finished! I will edit them and make the ppt for them, but it feels good to be finished. Please pray that God will use these talks for His glory!

I had a chance to run before the afternoon thunder shower!

I rushed to pick up Mom and she watched Little House while I went off to tutor!

Everyone was home by 10:30 this evening... Isaiah was tutoring. Abby was teaching. Alan was playing basketball!

Donating Blood and More Message Prep

Today since Alan was home, we spent the day working on the retreat talks/workshops. It was great. Even though we only have two 90 minute sessions, it was very difficult to prepare as the group of people who will be there is so diverse! Trying to plan something will help everyone... Please pray for us!

In the afternoon before tutoring, I scootered to Soochow University as the blood mobile was there and donated blood! Yippy! The students ahead of me were so nice... they let me go first as I had to leave by 4:45!

This evening we had counseling and then enjoyed the time together as a family...

Bible Study and Things...

The enchilada lasagna came out great... And we are now on Session 9 of our study... slowly but surely!

In the afternoon, I sat and worked on talks and went for another quick run! It was sprinkling... and cool! Super nice!

The kids were home... Abby didn't have to work and Isaiah didn't have practice! Alan came home after his evening class... and ate enchilada and red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting!

It was such a nice day!

A Message Prepping Day

I had set aside today to sit and prep for all the upcoming messages...

It was so much fun to sit and read and write...

I have two messages that Alan and I need to do together... but we have not had the time to sit down and look at where we'd like to go with these workshop/talks.

For my breaks, I got up to cook as I have our Bible study gals here for lunch tomorrow. I made a simple enchilada lasagna. Alan and Isaiah had some for dinner. They said it was very yummy.

Mom and I finished off the sushi from last night!

I did go and tutor this evening... That was great.

I also received several emails from different people telling me that they will be coming to Taiwan for two weeks in June... Oh my... Can June get any busier? I'm so glad I started early on all the talks for June!

Cleaning Sunday

I have decided to set Sunday mornings as cleaning day...

I do the laundry, the floor, light dusting and the bathrooms...

I also cut Mom's hair...

I didn't tutor this afternoon, so it was relaxing before church!

The message was on Simon Peter... and Alan said I will speak at HOP on June 9th... so that's going to be a Double Duty Sunday!

And Abby came back from Chiayi, exhausted.

And Isaiah led worship this afternoon!

A Brilliant Day...

I took Mom to Yang Ming Hospital to get her aricept refilled... Unfortunately, they won't let me pick up three months worth... just one month at a time... and Annie wanted Mom to increase to 10mg, but the doctor said it would be best to do that after September.

Mom had a massage this afternoon... and I went off for a longer run!

This evening we had dinner with James... at an expensive restaurant...

We came home and watched TV after Mom went to bed.

Isaiah went to an all you can eat Japanese buffet restaurant with his tennis team...

Abby texted us to tell us that she is totally exhausted as she only slept three hours last night and they had a whole day of activities...

I Shouldn't Complain...

It was time to renew our car insurance... I shouldn't complain as the total cost was quite low, if I compare it with car insurance in the States. But, for those of us in Taiwan, it has gone up due to the fact that many in Taiwan have become more 'sue happy' like those in the States. Now, most drivers buy all the insurance, not just the basic insurance as required by the government!

We also had many errands to run... the way we spent another one of our 'dates'... running errands. We enjoy being together, but I don't know why we always have so much to do!

By 4 pm, we finished everything and I went for a run. Alan went and picked up Mom for me...

We had a nice simple dinner at home.

Abby had headed down to Chiayi for a service project. She won't be back until Sunday evening!

Work, Work, Work, Work, Work...

I set this day to finish another message... I'm almost done. I have not started on the ppt but the message is about 90% finished!

I also did a load of clothes... I have to change Mom's hand towels on a regular basis!

And this was my Thursday night 'routine'... after I picked Mom up, I brought her over to meet up with James. He took her out to dinner while I headed off to tutor. An hour later, they were finished with dinner and I brought Mom home. She was in bed by 7:15 and I had our monthly complex meeting at 8pm. It was downstairs so even though there was no one home, I came up to check on Mom.

Alan came home from playing basketball at around 9pm.

Abby came home from teaching at around 10:30pm.

Isaiah came home from tutoring at around 10pm.

We spent the evening watching a TV show before we headed off to bed at around 12:30!

That's our usual Thursday evenings...
