Abby's Graduation Trip

In Taiwan, the 6th graders go for an overnight graduation trip. After returning from Shanghai, school started and the very next week, Abby was off on her graduation trip. All six classes went down south. They visited the Taichung Science Museum. They went to an amusement park. They visited and walked around Sun Moon Lake. They stayed overnight at a 5-star hotel and had a major bon fire with games and activities. In short, they had a BALL.
She didn't sleep much in those 48 hours and neither did I as I missed having her home.

Isaiah's Drumming Experience

Isaiah decided to try playing the drums for the House of Praise Worship. He did a fantastic job. Abby has been playing the drums and Isaiah has started taking guitar lessons. We were hoping that he would play the guitar with the Worship team. But this past Sunday, he stepped out of his comfort zone and decided to try the drums after being in Shanghai and seeing Nathan and Sam. Isaiah ENJOYED the experience immensely and will probably become a regular member of the HOP Worship Team along with Abby.
We wanted to upload the video... but I am not hi-tech enough as it is too large of a file. So, the picture will have to do!

The Remodeling Experience, Part II

The living room cabinets -- they brought pieces of the floor-to-ceiling cabinets in and then stacked them together like a jigsaw puzzle. Then they worked on putting the doors, the exterior covering, the drawers, the glass panels, the knobs. It is amazing. Isaiah's cabinets are still "in progress". And the rooms are being painted. I wanted you to see the lucky dip green and the blue splat which will be in our study and Isaiah's room. Abby's unicorn purple is also finished. (I have not included a picture as she wants the pictures uploaded when the room is "really" finished!) She is going to get new furniture, not custom built ins. But the new furniture won't be arriving until April.

The Remodeling Experience

Since we are not home during most of our vacations, we decided to start the remodeling after our return from Shanghai. Yes, we are INSANE (please notice that I did not use the new word - "linsanity". No one name "lin" around here... ha, ha, ha... ) Anyhow, we found a general contractor, had the house measured, moved everything out of our to-be-sold or given-away cabinets and desks and closets, and the work started. I cannot describe in words what kind of mess this house is in. There is progress, albeit SLOWLY, but SURELY. We have only very slim paths set out for us to walk. The first picture is the colors we have chosen -- rubber ducky yellow, blue splat, lucky dip green, and unicorn purple. (The workers are still here and I think they are smoking inside my house. Oh no!!!!!)
Next post -- the cabinets in their "almost finished" phase.
