Finally... A Sabbath REST!

So nice to have a Sabbath rest in the midst of this Holy Week... It almost didn't happen as the complex was having some issues that I had to take care of...

I went to run early in the morning as I didn't know what the day would hold... I'm grateful that the Lord made the Sabbath possible.

Two new security personnel were to arrive and I was to meet them and oversee the handover. When I came back from my early morning run, I saw them. But when I took Mom down to catch the van, they were gone! I came up and asked the company what happened... the two guys walked around and didn't want to accept the assignment!

Thus, they had to send one of their managers to go over the handover details and I didn't have to be there! I was able to sit and read... and rest... How I needed the time!!!

In fact, last night, I was so confused about the prayer time with this sister... We pray every other week and I thought we had prayed last week. And then I realized that I had 'lost' a week because Mom was in the hospital. So, last Wednesday, we didn't pray... Wow... Last week was a time warp!

I finished one book and read the text notes for my Revelation study... and enjoyed my day...

Mom was back and I had her dinner ready.

Alan and Isaiah went to play basketball at Soochow... I think tonight they played the MOE team...

I had a nice evening at home after Mom went to bed!

Daily Lovely Insight:

The "spirit" of Christmas is more festive with all the shops decorated with lights and front doors with wreaths. What's the 'spirit' of this holiday? It surely is not Easter eggs and Easter bunny... Sure, Palm Sunday was when Jesus entered and people shouted HOSANNA... but that shout soon changed! As I was sharing with my students yesterday, what came to my mind was: HOPE through a REPENTANT & GRATEFUL HEART!

What do you think?

Maundy Thursday is a reminder that we are to serve and love one another.

Holy Wednesday!

I went out for my 10k after Mom took off... and I did a fast one.

Then it was home to do a load of laundry and get things packed for my Soochow Bible study. I found out where I can donate blood. So, I went to do that and messaged Alan to drop off the desserts at the church where I have my Bible study. That worked out so perfectly!

I had sent a file about the terminologies for this week: Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Ash Wednesday that started 46 days before Resurrection Sunday! And the desserts I made were to match those ideas... It was very interesting. Then we talked about PRAYER from Psalm 139!

I left at 3:30 and headed to Yang Ming Hospital to get Mom's report... confirmed: ULCERS! The doctor prescribed six months of stomach meds, which means I have to come back every two months to get the prescription refilled! Oh well... My next appointment: May 22nd!

I stopped at WGE and then headed home.

I had a helper come so that Alan would not need to worry!

Tonight I also had prayer time with a sister... but what I wanted to do was to go to bed...

It was indeed a long... but fruitful... day... and tomorrow is my SABBATH!

Weird Weather!

I thought it was going to be another warm, warm, warm day... so I went out for my 10k early!

And it turned out, the temperature dropped and at 1pm, the temperature was so perfect for a run... I finished my Bible study and we had such a feast. So, I took out my running clothes and laid down to let my food digest... and I fell asleep for an entire hour!

By the time I got up, it was too late for a second run... so sad!

I went to WGE and then bought soy bean milk as I had tutoring at 3:30. I had to get Mom's dinner set up plus I had downloaded my student's essay, and I didn't have time to read it.

Tutoring started at 3:30 and when we finished at 4:40, Mom's dinner was ready! For Bible study this morning, I had made grilled cheese sandwiches and a salad. I made a lot, so Alan and Isaiah will have that for dinner! YEAH!

The complex was quiet today... Please continue to pray!

Tonight we had Family Time! YEAH!

What A Monday!

The weather is getting warmer, so to fit in my run, I might have to go at 5:30... which means, I need to be up at 4:15!

If only it can stay cooler until JULY!

I got in my 10k and came home for a quick shower.

After Mom took off, while I was cleaning the room, I decided to call Ms. Hsieh and she was available at 9:30. So, I dropped everything and went for a massage... again, those 90 minutes went by way too fast!

Then it was off to Costco on my scooter... then to the local veggies store... I never know how the Lord helps me to get home with all the stuff I bought... bulk items on my little 100cc scooter.

I am making "jiggler jello" for my Soochow Bible Study kids... they are going to be so surprised. It's their Resurrection Sunday special dessert for this Wednesday... then they have spring break! Yes, Alan will be off from March 30th to April 8th! Mom will have four days -- April 4 to the 7th!

I had hoped to work on my April talk, but the complex had more issues to resolve plus this is the week of the 'hand-off' -- old company to the new company. What an ordeal... Some of the residents are not happy! They want to talk to me... as we're the head of the board this year...

At 4pm, I had my monthly prayer time with a sister... It's always a joy to hear how the Lord has worked in this past month...

Just as we ended, the phone rang -- Mom care... and after she went to bed, I finally sat down and worked on my April talk plus I went through the emails.

Alan had work and Isaiah went to play basketball after work!

The Triumphant Entry!

It was a warm day... glad I didn't go for a run...

I left at 8:11 for my walk and went to WGE! I took a shower and did a very quick workout. Then it was time to head home as I wanted to pick up trash on the way home. All three bags were filled!

As soon as I got home, it was Mom care... and she's eating well, but we're sticking to congee and soft food. I did give her a dinner roll for lunch! For dinner, she had more solids! And she's fine!

I translated for the sermon and we had a General Assembly Meeting after the service!

Isaiah attended a morning service as he had basketball in the afternoon.

The week has started...

Getting Warmer...

I went out for a longer run, even though it was quite warm outside. Since I didn't run six times this week, I thought I'd go for 19k and I did, without stopping!

Alan and Isaiah had an early morning Men's Group Launch Meeting...

I came home and got Mom up and gave her breakfast!

I then started prep for the evening Marriage Builders dinner -- salad, homemade cookies... And I rode to the local supermarket to buy bread and drinks. Quite a bit of work for a small get together.

Mom ate well... but was not so talkative!

Isaiah this evening went for a massage...

We left for church after I got Mom to bed... Marriage Builders had six couples and they all loved the dinner... make your own sandwich! The topic was excellent as we talked about communication in marriage conflicts. We didn't get home until 9pm and I had to clean and put everything away.

This weekend is going by so fast!

A Mix of Different Things!

Today was our date and we did a mixture of different things...

First, I got Mom up and out and went for a quick run.

Then, it was breakfast with friends from Edinburgh!

We had to leave at around 12:20 as Alan had a coaching appointment at 1pm. So, we went home. I had plenty of tasks to get down: Mom's bedding needed to be changed, so I had to do another load of laundry. I also had things to do which were left undone since I wasn't home for three days!

By 1:45, I headed out to WGE for my shower and sauna and express workout. I was home by 2:50 and Alan was already home.

We took off for our "date"... first stopping to buy CoCo.

I had a helper come to pick up Mom at 5:15, so that we didn't have to rush home! YEAH!

We drove around several areas to see about homes for sale and then we bought veggies before heading home!

Mom ate two bowls of my delicious congee...

Tonight after she went to bed, we had our Family Time and at 9pm, I had my Bible study!
