The Last Day of November

I was up early... and making food for the two different parties...

Plus, there was housework to do...

Even though the weather was gorgeous, I didn't have time to go for a quick run...

The first party was with my co-workers at MCU. Mom kept eating, and eating, and eating... she got mad when we tried to limit her intake...

So, we decided NOT to take her to the second potluck dinner. I stayed home with her while Alan, the kids and Kurtis all went. I had already made food and bought drinks.

We met up at 9pm at the movie theater to watch Ford vs. Ferrari.

Yes, I left Mom home alone...

We then went to eat midnight snacks... but no one was really hungry...

We dropped Kurtis off... and welcome December!

Kurtis' Stuff... All Done for Now!

Alan is down with a cold... but we had to get Kurtis' visa and bank account set up...

So, we picked him up at 10:15 and went off...

Alan stayed in the car to rest and Kurtis and I did the running around...

We have his visa extended until January 29th. And we will have to go and get his ARC on January 9th and prayerfully, get his card by January 23rd when everything closes down!  We might have to pay the extra fees to expedite the process...

We also set up his bank account... and there were so many forms to sign as he is a foreigner. They don't want anyone hiding money in Taiwan.

We finished at 1:30 and rushed to Soochow as Alan had to give a talk.

I walked around and found Abby and we did a walk through campus.

I will go back again to do another prayer walk!

Alan was finished by 2:40 and we drove to drop off the grading form at NSB and to buy tickets for movie night -- Ford vs Ferrari! Tomorrow night! Kurtis will join us! YIPPY! We will end our month of birthday celebrations with midnight snacks at a local restaurant after the movie!

We did not go near Costco... or any other stores as several of them were having "Black Friday" specials...

And since I did a long run yesterday... no running today or tomorrow...

Tonight I had tutoring... and then when the kids got home, we played board games...

Happy Thanksgiving! And Happy Birthday!

Image result for happy thanksgiving
Yes... It's Abby's birthday and Thanksgiving Day... The kids and Alan were at school all day... Mom was at the elderly center...

I had the day to rest and run and read... the three "R's"...

In fact, I decided to go for a longer run...

In the evening, Mom and I had turkey soup for dinner. But after Mom went to bed, I ordered pizzas and surprised Abby at school as her team was practicing... Alan, Isaiah and Kurtis joined us...

It was a blessed day... and we will have more activities this weekend!

Cooler Days... But So Very Nice...

I decided not to go for a run as I had too many errands to run...

Needless to say, the day went by very quickly.

I did put up our manger scene... and have started playing Christmas music around the house...

Tutoring... and counseling...

I will take the time to rest tomorrow... and run!

Costco Craze & Last NSB Class

What a day...

Because I had my last class, I ordered a pumpkin pie from Costco. What a mistake!

I had no idea that this week was the Costco Black Friday Week...

I should have known... they again put out Disneyland style red ropes from B1 to B3 and also on the first floor entrance. Then the sign said they were opened at 9am! Thankfully, when I went, the crowd had dispersed... I was able to get in and out in less than an hour. The longest wait was getting into the parking lot!

I made mashed potatoes... and had prepared games and stories... and shared about Jesus...

It was a fantastic class. They gave me a shirt and a towel and a box of cookies and a card... and they walked me all the way to my scooter... What a sweet group of students!

Alan came home and so he stayed with Mom...

I will take tomorrow to have lunch with Alan and rest!

God Is Working on My Behalf...

The day was busier than I had planned...

Because Kurtis is off, I had planned to take him to get his physical and open a bank account and pay his tuition and room... and get a chop made for him... and...

He told me last night that he had a final presentation and should be finished by 1:30. So, last night, I cancelled his Wednesday morning appointment (it is very difficult for him to get up before 12noon due to, in my opinion, poor life choices), and made it for this afternoon! Before picking him up, I had to go get money to pay his tuition as Friday is visa renewal deadline!

I dropped Mom off... did a few household chores and went for a run. (With Alan gone, I didn't run on Saturday... and of course, I don't run on Sunday!) The weather was super nice...

I got there at 1:30 and he just finished. He paid tuition only as the lady who takes care of the room payment was not in.  Then we headed out to the hospital for his physical. He hadn't eaten all day (and no alcohol consumption, either!). We were number 2 as I had used the computer to make an appointment. After the nurse saw him and he has lost quite a bit of weight, he was sent to get his blood taken and x-ray done. We were finished by 3:11. Can we do the rest? We got the chop, but the banks were closed by 3:30. We will have to do that on Friday!

He came home and stayed with Grandma while I went to tutor.

Today is Isaiah's 21st birthday, so I had planned a surprise party where he tutors.

On the way back from tutoring, I bought McDonald's... and drinks... and I had ordered this snack for him, which arrived today. Perfect!

I picked Kurtis up and we headed out at 8:10. What a fun evening. Abby came over at 9pm.

While we had the party (Kathryn bought the cake!), we used Line to call Alan, as he is still in Shanghai.

It was a great day... and yes, God worked on my behalf as he helped me to drive safely, he provided for my every need...

Oh... Thursday will be Abby's birthday... and I'm going to surprise her during her basketball practice with Pizza Hut goodies!
