A Day in Ilan

One of the people I tutor told me about this surfing area in Ilan... I asked Alan if we wanted to venture out there today... and he agreed.

So, this morning, I bought coupons for a restaurant and at around 10:30, we headed out. It was raining in Neihu, and we thought it would be pouring out in Ilan as the East Coast is usually wetter than Taipei. But it turned out to be a wonderful day... overcast, but no rain when we were outside. When we were at the restaurant, it started to rain... When we walked out, it stopped!

The restaurant was fantastic... salad bar and Alan had the surf and turf plus the salad bar... and it was only 10US$ per person! Drinks and desserts included...

We found the beach for surfers, and it was very quaint... The sand was black and fairly clean... They set the beach into two sides ... one for swimmers and the other side only for surfers. We wanted to stay there longer, but we had to rush back for my mom.

Kurtis also moved out of his dorm today... he heads out tomorrow. Alan went and picked him up and his stuff. He went to tutor and walked back to our house. We spent the evening repacking and sorting... trying to see how we can get as much of Annie's stuff in his suitcases without going over the weight limit... We shall see what happens tomorrow... at the counter!

Daily Lovely Insight:
Many people seem to have a problem when they read a statement such as "God hardened Pharaoh's heart... or someone's heart..." How can God do that? Did God purposely prevent people from turning to Him? The answer is: NO! I believe what that phrase means is: God confirmed the choice they have already made. God gave all people choices, free will. And when people continuously choose stubborn obstinacy over obedience and surrender to God, then God 'confirms' their choice and leaves them to face the consequence of their disobedience. While thinking of this, one of my Bible study students emailed me the song, When God Ran. The lyrics are based upon the return of the Prodigal when the father ran to greet this wayward son who has come back. God wants his people to choose Him and it delights His heart when we willingly say YES to following His way. But when we don't, He 'hardens' and waits for us to return to our senses!

Seek Him First!
