Filing Taxes, Celebrating Anniversary, Donating Blood...

We tried to squeeze as much as possible into one short date... and we did it in the pouring rain!

After dropping off Mom, we got everything together to head to to the Taxation Bureau... yes, it's tax season.  We were #95 and they were just on #80! Oh no... We had originally reserved our luncheon for 12noon. By 11:30, we knew we wouldn't make it, so we called to change the reservation to 12:45! The taxes were done by 12:30 and we're getting about 200US$ refund this year. Yippy! A little more money for our summer cruise... (That's why I'm trying to tutor a little more, too...)

The Royal Hotel Buffet Luncheon was fabulous. They had port ribs and roast beef... I'm not a meat eater, but Alan enjoyed himself. I loved the Chinese stuff... They also had bread pudding... made the 'right' way with lots of custard/pudding.  While there, one of the waitresses said that it was the hotel's 35 anniversary and there is a bloodmobile right outside. If we go and donate blood, we get a really nice gift from the hotel-- their famous taffy candies. Unfortunately, I could not... I have to wait until 5/23! But Alan could... and for 500cc, he got two gifts!

On the way home, we stopped to get some groceries and transfer money and paid bills...

Alan had to use the blow dryer to dry everything... I put a load of laundry in the washing machine and sped out for my quick run. I was back in 30 minutes and took a one minute shower and was out the door to pick Mom up!

We had family time after Mom went to bed and everyone was home... and ended the evening by watching the movie, The Prestige...

What a day!
