Down in Taichung

So, I got up at 4:15 this morning and took Alan and Isaiah to the train station at 5:20. Why?

Isaiah had a college admissions 'try-out'. This is very different. It is for those who are in the PE classes and scored higher than 40 (out of 75) on the JCEE to have a chance to study at a national school without having to study in a PE related department.

The four national schools who sponsored this are all down south, so it's not our first choice. But all these schools are top schools and Isaiah's coach wanted him to try. The application fee is 2000NT$ plus you have to pay for your own transportation down to Taichung, which is in the middle of Taiwan. We had to buy the High Speed Rail tickets in order for Alan and Isaiah to get there by 8am. The train this morning departed at 6:15am and got to Taichung by 7:25. They were in the gym of Chung Hsing University by 7:55!

For tennis, 20 boys and 5 girls signed up. The top 5 boys and 3 girls will be admitted. After a morning of play, Isaiah came in 6th place! That's still excellent for Isaiah and it was a great learning experience.

After the try-out, Alan and Isaiah went over to our friend's place to rest and relax. To get back, since there is no rush, they will take a bus, which will take 2 hours!

What an exciting day!

Oh... the school will send out an official letter. And we think Isaiah is first on the waiting list! So, we need to press on and do a really good job in putting together the portfolio for Isaiah, which needs to be mailed out by Thursday of this coming week!

Seek Him First!
