Cooler Weather ... Faster Run

I was up early and went out... it wasn't raining... and it was a bit cooler. I saw a friend and he was having an easy run... His easy is my fastest...

I was home and after a quick shower, I made fresh coffee with another new coffee maker with a grinder... automatic shut off... fantastic!

Alan and I went to pick up clothes for Nepal: one entire suitcase filled with baby stuff. I will add some more to make it 20kgs. We then came back home and got the scooter and went to Coco, dropped off cheese sticks for Ms. Hsieh, lunch at a small restaurant, and then to our old house. I cleaned up the kitchen, putting everything back properly: pans and lids, cups and plates, electric appliances... It looked so nice!

We came home at 3pm and I had tutoring at 4:30.

At 6pm, Alan and I met up to go see more houses with Isaiah. Four more... This is Season 4 of House Hunting!

We were home by 9pm and I worked on my talk notes and the ppt!

Tomorrow is a full day of meeting up with friends!

Enjoyable PR Day

I was up, but NOT as early as usual since I went to bed so late...

I did run my 10K and it was warmer than I expected!

After a quick shower, I was making grilled fish/cheese/ham sandwiches. VERY DELICIOUS!

Isaiah took off for work.

Alan took off for work.

I started looking at the stuff that I'd like to bring to Abby and what I've gathered already. Tomorrow we will pick up the baby clothes for the ministry there in Nepal. That will be about 20kgs. So... it's going to be a miracle to get everything packed. We shall see...

As I was going through the stuff for Abby, I had set aside lots of great books for her: all related to missions. I took out several and settled myself on the sofa and read.

By 12:30, I went out to buy bread, soy bean milk, coffee and tea packets... it was a fast errand! I was home by 1:30 and turned on the WiFi and started looking for more possibilities for "Season 4 of House Hunting". Isaiah will make the appointments. We should go and see maybe four tomorrow night and four more on Saturday.

At 4:15, I headed out to my massage... and then when that was finished, I went to Costco! YES... the weather was nice and with my scooter, it would be a fast stop. I wanted to buy my student a bag of dried strawberries for his birthday! I bought more than I had intended... but I still got everything on my scooter and got home safely!

Alan and Isaiah came back from basketball at 9pm.

Better Weather Wednesday!

I was up early but could not get get myself out of bed... So, I was late in getting out for my usual 10K. But I was able to get home and after a quick shower, I went down and did the recycling. I found pots and pans and a fairly new coffee maker... A really nice one. I have not tested it, but I posted the pots and pans and someone came and picked those up!

The recycling people came and the area is CLEAN!

I went back home and took a two hour nap! YES, I DID!

Then it was a rush to get to Soochow for my Bible study. I had already baked the cheesy cornbread...

The time flew by... and I took off for tutoring. That went well... and I was home by 5:20. Because I won't have class for two weeks, I planned a birthday celebration with the little gal who is turning 6 on 11/7. I bought her a set of Frozen Uno cards and a princess dress. We had a fun class!

Tonight, I had my online study at 10pm, so Alan and I went to look at more houses with Isaiah and Fenny.

Tomorrow... YIPPY! PR DAY!

Wow!

I was up early and went out for my usual 10K.

I made a couscous chicken congee with cheese... yes, it was for my Bible study. I took a quick shower and then rested before taking off in the rain to church We had only six gals... but it was a delightful time!

I was heading back home and contacted a friend. And it turned out they had free time in the afternoon, so Alan and I went and picked them up and took them around for a little tour. We got Coco bubble milk tea and then went to the National Palace Museum, Soochow University, Martry's Shrine, Grand Hotel...and dropped them off at the Yuan Shan MRT Station and we headed home.

Alan wanted a burger... we had nice slice cheese... I baked for tomorrow's Bible study and Alan watched the highlights from today's Dodgers game! WOW... 18 innings!

I had tutoring at 7pm and then we had Family Time at 8pm. WOW...

Busy Monday!

I was up early and went out for my 10K. It was cooler... a slight drizzle... but truly NICE!

I was home and went down to the recycling as I didn't have time last night. Then it was a quick shower before I laid down for a quick nap.

I asked Alan to drop me off at church as my scooter was there. I went to buy fruit and black jello... and then went to Ms. Hsieh to give her the different kinds of cheese I bought for her. She was just walking out of the first floor door when I caught her. I then rushed over to the MRT and caught it to head to meet my usual once a month get together to pray sister! The hours flew by and she prepared a scrumptious brunch for us.

We left together as I had tutoring at 2pm. How delightful that hour went! I won't be tutoring her for the month of November as we both are going to be busy.

I was home and had 10 minutes before my 4pm prayer time!

It was a great time... and then I blogged and cooked a simple Mac and cheese with ground beef for dinner.

Isaiah went to get a haircut.

Alan came home.

I made myself another great salad.

What A Sunday!

I was up early and had time to go back to bed after my time with Jesus! That sure was nice!

I then decided to go to Costco and bought things to stock up the fridge! WOW!

Then it was time to head to church as I have a new student: twice a month on Sunday afternoon at 1:30.

When that was finished, Lion Air finally sent a message. I needed my E-ticket because they could not find any record of my reservation even though I sent them my code. And the code was not wrong. So I scootered home. I got that over to them... and while I was translating, the agent messaged me. They are willing to change my outbound flight from Taiwan. So I will leave one day later... I will wait for the confirmation.

Yes, I had set up all the Love Cafe stuff and then translated for the church service!.

After the service, we went to look at another house. It's a fixer upper... But on Monday, Isaiah will first make an offer for two other homes and see...

We got home by 8pm and I fixed myself a nice huge salad and Alan and I watched an episode of The Rookie. Then it was prayer time with a dear gal.

I was so ready for bed...

The week is going to be packed!

And keep praying for church: it still feels weird... there is still an invisible tension! And I'm sharing on November 2nd, which is the first Sunday of the month and there will be the Lord's Supper, which Alan will lead! I wonder how many people will show up for the service! This afternoon, at 3:55, there were many empty seats... and slowly, people trickled in... but some had this sour look on their face!

Surprisingly Relaxing Saturday

I was up early and went out in the drizzle for my usual 10K... and yes, I hit 60K this week! I do wear a knee sleeve now, especially since it's cooler.

I started the magic pot of beef stew with carrots, onions, potatoes and corn, etc. It turned out beautifully!

After checking on the recycling (since I didn't go down there last night), I took a shower and started a load of laundry. I do one load a week!

Since we are having the Marriage Builders group, I decided to bake a simple dessert and some cheese biscuits.

Isaiah and Fenny went out at 1:30 and it was nice just to do a bit of cleaning around the house before going out to run a few errands.

At 5:30 we left for church! We only had two other couples, so it was quite nice and intimate to sit around and share. We had a video that we watched together and asked them to answer the questions that the panel was asked to answer. The sharing was fun and we prayed together!

I will be translating tomorrow for church! And yes, please keep praying for the situation...

And please pray for my trip to Nepal. The Airline just sent me another email, telling me that I now have to be at the airport for over 36 hours... The Bangkok Airport?!?!?!? I leave on 11/4 and I won't arrive in Nepal until the afternoon of 11/6!!!!!!!!!!! NO WAY! I have emailed them. I now have added them using the APP, LINE... but I have yet to hear about what's going on! Please pray!

Holiday!

I was up and went out for my usual 10K. What fun... it was drizzling!

I was home and after a shower, Alan and Isaiah were on the couch watching the Chargers game. They won!

At 10am, before the game was finished, we left to go apartment hunting again. We had hoped to go see 8 to 9, but we only saw 6. Of the 6, there were two that were real possibilities. We shall see...

We went to Costco and PXMart and this little food shops and bought things for church and for the dinner get together.

We got to their house early and rested out in front... It was good to nap!

The dinner was great... just old friends hanging out together... we didn't get home until 11:15.

Fenny stayed over night here as it was too late to drive her home... Alan was tired!

Splendid PR Day!

I need to get to bed earlier...

Anyhow, I was up by 4:45 and out by 6am for my usual 10K. It was warmer than I expected with a nice sprinkling of rain!

I was home and after a shower, I started a pot of onion and potatoes. Wow... it smelled so good!

Alan and Isaiah took off for work and I settled down to read... Splendid!

At 11:30, I headed out to the local market and to the library and to the supermarket. It was the usual items: Chinese romaine lettuce, dragon fruit, carrots, soy bean milk... and returning books... I was home by 1pm and had a delicious lunch! Then it was back on the sofa for more reading!

At 2pm, I turned on the WiFi and checked my emails and started my blog post.

I had made an appointment for a massage at 5pm... YIPPY!

Dinner was ready when Alan and Isaiah came home from playing basketball.

Tomorrow is a holiday! YIPPY!

Raining, Raining, Raining...

Yes, I was up and yes, I went out for a run... my usual 10K! I saw my usual friends... that was fun.

I was home and after a shower, I went down and got the recycling ready for pick up! I came back up before they arrived!

I made a delicious soup/noodles dish for our meals and then rested!

I really didn't feel like tutoring, but I prayed: if the rain wasn't too bad, I'd go. So, I packed up everything for my Soochow Bible study and tutoring and headed out.

There was traffic and it turned out that a tree had toppled and blocked two lanes... they were working hard to get it cleared off.

Only one person showed up for the study, but four people came for the banana muffins! YEAH!

And tutoring went well... The hour went by so quickly!

I was home by 5:45... and ready to eat my delicious noodles soup... SO YUMMY! I ate way too much.

Tonight we had counseling with a couple!

Tomorrow: PR DAY! YIPPY!

Back to the Doctor!

Don't worry... I only went back to find out about my MRI.

So, I was up early and it was raining. I did my 10K and saw both of my running buddies... It was nice and quiet out there... In fact, the big green entrance gate was closed. We had to do the walk way to get into the park.

I had my shower and cooked another chicken dish. YEAH. Our fridge is set for this week! And I still have veggies that I haven't cooked!

I rested and left at 10am, checking the recycling first. I was there by 10:15 and they were only on number 11. I was number 18. I finally got called at 11:15. It was a fast appointment. Some degeneration... I will just watch and wait.

I was home and made myself a salad... YUMMY!

Alan was home and went to get a new mouse as the one they gave him was faulty. Yes, they will give him a new one! I hope they will throw in something else for free!

I called one of the church sisters as the 'ordeal' has continued... Please keep praying...

Tonight I had my Bible study... it's always good to see these ladies!

Monday Down Pour!

I saw the weather forecast and knew that the temperature would drop as well as the rain!

I was up early... as the boys were up early. They got up to watch the Chargers game. (They lost to the Bolts... I think it was 38-24??)

I went out for my run in the rain... completely soaked but it was nice to be out. There weren't many who were out there, but I saw my usual 'friends'.

Then I was home and after a shower, I did a load of laundry.

I headed out to the Mortuary as a dear friend's father passed away. It was weird to be there... this man shares the same birthday as my Mom... but was 20 years younger!

I headed home after the simple service and got home by 12:30. I rode very slowly as the rain was coming down pretty hard! Some of those drops were fairly big... and powerful!

I had put dinner in the rice cooker and that was finished when I got home. Very yummy. Yes, I ate it for lunch!

After putting things away, I sat and rested before starting to bake for Wednesday. I made banana raisin bread in mini muffin tins. Very nice!

This evening we actually had Family Time again... YIPPY! Hopefully we can do it next week...It is always so nice to catch up and pray together.

Intense Sunday!

I was up early and just stayed around at home as it was raining really hard!

The morning passed quite nicely... I was just praying as our pastor was going to make another announcement and I had no idea what he was going to say. Alan just asked me to not go long! After I finished speaking, our pastor came up. I won't comment on what he said... Please pray that there will be peace among the people after his announcement. I'm in a wait and see mode!

We were home by 7:30...

I spoke on Love One Another. And please pray that the Holy Spirit will use the message to empower His people to love as the Holy Spirit has been poured into our lives. Only God can do the impossible.

I had prayer time with the sister at 9pm and got ready for bed.

It's been a very intense day for me...

Complex Meeting!

I was up early and ran my usual 10k. It hasn't gotten cooler... not yet!

I was home and took a shower and worked on my talk: Admonish One Another.

Then it was time to go downstairs for the complex meeting... but we didn't have enough people. So, I went door to door and asked people to sign a release form. They gave me the right to vote for them... ha, ha, ha... So, we didn't start the meeting until 10:15! But at least we had the meeting!

We didn't win anything for the raffle... I was hoping for the Carrefour coupons! ha, ha, ha...

Isaiah took off for his co-workers camping trip! Alan and I had a free afternoon... how nice. I was going to go to Ms. Hsieh as my right shoulder is a bit off... but Ms. Hsieh is off on a trip this weekend!

It was nice to be home and prep and read and relax!

Buy Buy Buy Date!

I was up early and went for a special run as I had to get my scooter! I hit my 10k.

I was home and after a shower, I sat and worked on my 11/2 talk and read!

Alan was home by 10:15 as we were set to go have lunch and then go laptop shopping for him. And that's exactly what we did.

We went to Coco and got the bubble milk tea drinks. On the way to his favorite restaurant, we found a new Coco that's three minutes from the restaurant that just opened up! WOW!

I ordered a lot of food as Alan was hungry. We chatted with the owners as we are like 'family' to them. They are also believers.

We then headed to the Computer District and walked to this one area. Acer, Asus, Lenovo and they had it all. Alan had done his research and we found what he wanted: SwiftGo 14 SUPER LITE WEIGHT: 999grams! 28,900NT$ with a 1TB upgrade, free wireless mouse, screen protector, bag, etc. I took out the credit card and we were heading home by 3pm.

We picked up the coffee pods that I had ordered and I made myself some decaf coffee. Alan took off to school to pick up Office... the discs. I went to tutor. No time to rest! Darn it.

On the way home, we saw the van that Mom used to ride when she comes home from the day care center. I know the license plate. I miss Mom!

It was hot, riding over to the tutoring place. Heavy rain is expected on Monday.

This evening we met up with Isaiah and Fenny as we looked at another possible apartment in this other area. Then we had teppanyaki for dinner!

The weekend has started!

Delightful PR Day!

I was up and did my 10k run. I saw several of the usual people out there... it's always nice to greet one another as we go by...

I was home and after a shower, I started back on my Nov. 2nd talk. I don't need WiFi as I write thoughts from reading the passages.

Alan was up and left for work and so did Isaiah! They both had basketball tonight!

I set Moppy off... that's my iRobot mop! Remember: I bought a replacement battery and it's back running smoothly! YIPPY!

I napped on the sofa... and read... ate chips... (Thank you Annie!) And the morning flew by! Yes, the AC was on... it was unbearably hot!

At 12:15 I headed out for the black jello and to see what else they had. I bought almond jello, veggie wraps, dragon fruit and yes, black jello! I was home by 1pm and turned on the WiFi to check my emails and to continue my message prep!

I left at 2:15 to meet a friend. I had made an appointment for myself for Ms. Hsieh, but I had to let my dear friend try the acupressure massage...

We took the bus home, stopping at PXMart for milk!

We had a nice dinner at home and just hung out!

It was indeed a delightful PR Day!

Crazy Wednesday!

I was up and ran my 10K. Then I put a load of laundry in and took a shower.

I wanted to clean out the back balcony and Isaiah took a work at home day!

Alan went to play tennis.

At 11am, Alan was home, the AC was on, and I started to prep for my November 2nd talk.

It was 12:00 all too soon and I realized I forgot to go and help with the recycling. I had already checked last night, but I usually go and say hello to them when they come to pick up.

I headed down and the place was nice and clean. I had to go get a few things before heading out to my Soochow Bible study.

We had one more new guy and one more old guy... making the group now at 5 plus me!

When that was finished, I went to tutoring. The hour flew by! YIPPY!

I was home and Isaiah had contacted the real estate agent and will get the 'earnest money' back and made an appointment to see another place on Friday! He is going off with his work friends this weekend! So, Friday night will be the only time he has! And for tonight, he had basketball practice for his work team.

I had online Bible study at 7:45 and when that was done, I was ready for bed! But... there was more going on related to the church situation. Please keep praying!

Tuesday Bible Study!

I was up early... and still feeling tired... but I did go for my 10K.

I came back and started baking for the Bible study tomorrow... I put the first 12 muffins in the oven and went and trimmed my hair and took a shower. And the timing was perfect. After getting dressed, the first 12 were finished and I put the second tray in!

Alan had gone to play tennis and Isaiah went off to work. I sent three muffins with him!

I left early to to the the Bible study and half way there, I remembered: the key! So, I had to head back, pick up the key and go buy a few things for our study. I found these great Vietnamese rolls... Wow... so refreshing! And another stand, I got hot dog rolls! Perfect.

We only had 5 gals today! But the study was great. I stayed afterwards to talk to two sisters and then Alan was at Ms. Hsieh. He had brought the suitcase to donate. So I picked that up and walked it over to the old guy at the traditional market who sells second hand things!

On the way home, I stopped at Carrefour to see if they have coffee pods. No... I'll look some more tomorrow!

I was home and it was nice to put everything away and rest a bit! Yes, with the AC on!

Tonight I had tutoring online... That went well...

Isaiah went out to dinner with Fenny! He is still putting the itinerary together for our Chinese New Year trip!

Good Monday!

I was up early and ran my 10K. It felt cooler...

I was home and after a shower, I was ready to go back to bed...

Alan and Isaiah had gotten up at 1am to watch the Chargers game. Yes, they won... but it was intense! They both went back to sleep at 4am... and left for work at around 8:15.

I went down to check the recycling as I was too tired last night plus our dear friend was over!

The house got hot really fast, so I turned on the AC and enjoyed a nice long nap!

We had plenty of food as there was leftover pizza. I didn't need to cook. And for tomorrow's Bible study, I think I'll just go and buy sandwiches.

For my breakfast, I finished the McMuffin sandwich from yesterday... YIPPY. And then for lunch, I made myself a huge salad with chunks of beef stew meat and pumpkin pieces! Wow! It was perfect for such a hot day!

At 2:30, I took off for my MRI. Yes, I didn't cancel the appointment as I think it will be good to see what the knees are like. I have another appointment next Tuesday to go over the report. I had to wait and was in there for 20 minutes. That was fine with me as I just fell asleep. Some people don't like it, I guess. I was home by 4:30.

From the recycling, I got a Dolce Coffee maker, the kind that has a single drop-style coffee pod and two nice mops with new refills.

I blogged and messaged church people.

Alan was home by 6pm and we had a nice relaxing evening.

We continue to plan for our mini vacation in Taiwan for Chinese New Year vacation!

Sunday Summit and Service!

I was up early and after my time with Jesus, I had to start walking as I wanted to get in my steps! I barely made it on time!

The Summit started at 7:30 with McDonald's breakfast! YUMMY! And then we had devotional!

We had a full morning and during the morning session, the agent called and we went over at 1pm. They moved the meeting to Neihu! YIPPY!

But before the end of the Summit, I had another run-in with our pastor as he was sharing his vision for transitioning our bilingual service to having a Mandarin service.

As for the meeting with the agent and owner, the owner didn't accept our price. That's ok. We will move on to see what else the Lord will provide.

We were back at church by 3pm and I just had to close my eyes. I was the translator. And I had to keep moving to stay awake!

Some dear friends came to the service. How delightful! One gal came over to our house after the service and stayed to chat. It was so great to see her.

She left at 10:30 and Alan came home and filled me in on the situation at church. What a miracle!

Anyhow, I'm exhausted!

Holiday Saturday!

I was up early and ran 10K!

I took a shower and laid down for 20 minutes and then took off for church! We had our Church Leadership Meeting which started at 7:30am. I didn't have much time to nap.

Breakfast was great and then a devotional, using SOAP: Scriptures, Observations, Applications and Prayer!

We started with two consecutive workshops and I had brought things for people. They came at different times to pick things up! That worked out so well!

At 5pm, the real estate guy came and we signed the offer of 10.77 millionNT$ (the listed price was 12.98 million NT$)! We will hear within three weeks! But this weekend they will approach the owner, so we might hear earlier!

The meeting continued until 9pm and I was so very exhausted as we didn't have time to take a nap!

Double Ten Holiday...

I was up early and went for my 10k.

It was a holiday, so Isaiah didn't have to get up early. Alan tried to get him up to play tennis, but he chose to sleep in.

After a shower, I had breakfast and put away things that were on the bed in Isaiah's room. No one has come to pick up the items, so I might have to put everything in the recycling area. We shall see.

I worked through the morning until Alan came back. Isaiah had a lunch/afternoon date with Fenny. So, he left at 11:30. I then spent the rest of the day reading and resting. I finished a book.

At 3:45, I took off to meet up with people who had stayed at our old apartment and left things there. They came up from Pingtung. They also wanted to take some pots and pans and bowls etc. that I had in the apartment. No problem. We always have plenty to share!

This evening started the church Leadership Summit. How awkward!

Tomorrow is from 7:30 to 9:30. And then half day on Sunday and then I have to translate for the service. Please pray!

I'm going to post now so that I don't forget later on tonight!

Restful & Fruitful PR Day!

I was up early and ran my 10k. There was a slight sprinkle. Clouds covered the skies... I liked it... Yes, it was still quite warm!

I was home and took a shower. Then I brought down the form as the box was picked up today! YIPPY! Unfortunately, I found the pencil boxes that I wanted to include in this shipment. Darn it! I guess they will wait until November!

I tidied up the piles of paperwork that were stacked on the dining room table and put away bags and threw out the recycling! And when I went down there, someone had left a rice cooker! There was no inner pot, but it works just fine!

Alan went for a run and Isaiah took off for work!

I settled myself on the sofa and read and dozed off!

Alan took off for work and I sat and had my breakfast! YUMMY!

Then it was back to reading and napping, until around 12:30!

I turned on the WiFi and finished the new Bible study materials and looked at my talk for October 19th and started on the ppt. My ppt is always very simple. I just cut and paste the verses. Nothing fancy!

At 5pm, I took off to run errands and then to have my massage with Ms. Hsieh at 6pm. Alan and Isaiah had basketball at Soochow! And then at 9pm, we had a special church prayer time! Yes, please keep praying for the church. There seems to be no viable resolution. Only God can work through the impossible! A certain individual is now calling on the Board of Directors to step in and vote. That would make it 6-3, to their favor...

And yes, I forgot to hit post when the prayer meeting ending.

Soochow Bible Study Started Up Again!

I was up early and went out and ran my usual 10K.

After getting home, I had a shower and rested. Isaiah took off and Alan had gone to play tennis. I went down to do the recycling! The janitor is doing a better job, so I had less to do! YIPPY! I then spent the morning working on my talk as all my previous notes, and the talk on Admonish One Another were completely lost! I neglected to hit save and the computer shut down and nothing was recovered! That's ok. I know God had a purpose! I will for sure share on Love One Another for 10/19, if I am still invited to share from the pulpit. This weekend is the big Church Leadership Summit. Please pray. Things are still in chaos!

At 12:30, I took off for my study. I wanted to arrive early to set things up. I had dropped off Bibles and had booklets done. So, those items were found. Some of the 'old' students came by to say hello. And I had two new students. They are absolutely great. One from China and another from Taidong, both are from strong Christian families. Five people signed up... and five people showed up, but three of them were students from years before and they left early. So, I think I will see a few more new faces next week!

I went to the library afterwards to return a book and to donate books.

I was home and it was just nice to have the time. Tutoring cancelled. YIPPY!

Alan and I counseled a couple... we do this twice a month! Isaiah had an appointment with Ms. Hsieh!

Different Tuesday!

I was up and went out for my 10K.

I had planned to go off somewhere to write... It's the 7th of the month... Mom passed 5 months ago... I had planned on going to YieLio, but it was way too hot!

I came back from my run and took a shower and rested!

That felt so good... Then Alan came back and we needed to pick up the car and drop it off at the other mechanics. He found only the AC parts needed to be changed and maybe later the compressor. He asked us to observe. We paid 200US$ not 2000US$!

Alan and I went to lunch while the car was in the shop and then he went and got an acupressure massage! YIPPY!. The stress of the church situation has really weighed heavily on him. Please continue to pray!

I went home after buying a few things. And I spent the afternoon reading.

Isaiah went to have dinner with Fenny.

Tonight, we had Family Time... I guess this was a different kind of Tuesday!
