Quite A Hectic Tuesday!

I was up early and ran my 10K.

It wasn't as hot as yesterday...

Then it was time to get some things done before going to tutor. I took a shower and then had a quick nap. I had to leave at 10:20 as the ride to my tutoring took 40 minutes plus trying to find parking. The hour flew by and I was home for a quick lunch and then Alan and I took off.

In the beginning, we were just to pick up things to drop off as the family left for the States. But they left the apartment and it was an absolute mess with so many things all over the place and the apartment totally not cleaned!

We went there expecting the worst... we were not disappointed! Alan and I worked so hard... He disassembled the crib while I bagged things up. I went from room to room to room, consolidating everything into the living/dining room. Once the crib was disassembled, he started to put the furniture back while I started sorting the things in the living/dining room. By 4:30, we started taking things down stairs. There were bags of trash but they did not follow the apartment protocol. They had things in black trash bags. Those were not acceptable. Alan started loading up the car while I continued to clean the apartment. We put piles of stuff for the sister to come to sort and look through. Alan started to load the car with things that will go to this lady. (We will deliver the stuff tomorrow as our car is completely packed even after unloading the bags of trash!)

We met Isaiah at 6pm as he had made an appointment to look at an apartment. It was too small and the price was too high.

Isaiah and Fenny took off to celebrate her birthday and Alan and I took off to get some freon in our car. It turned out to be a pressure problem, so we decided to wait. We wanted to get home.

We had trash to sort and things to put away. And Alan was tired and hungry.

We did stop to get root beer as he made himself two very large mugs of root beer float. And we had salmon salad for dinner! YUMMY!

Alan went to bed at 9:30 and I sat down to blog and then continue to push through with putting away things.

I didn't finish until 11:30!

Tomorrow... well... I only have one hour of tutoring but we will drop off things and then go and get the car fixed!

And the church issue: it continues to be explosive!

Holiday Monday!

I was up early and I went out for my usual 10K.

Fenny came over last night and Alan, Isaiah and Fenny were up to watch the Charger's Game. They lost. Alan and Isaiah went to play tennis and I worked on completing the Summit Surveys. I had several to get done!

Then Fenny and I took out Ubikes and rode them over to the park. It was so hot!

We all came back home and ate lunch here and then took a nap!

At 2:30, we went over to the old house so that Fenny can take a look. She will probably stay there when her lease runs out.

We then went over to the bowling alley in XiZhi and did one game per person. The place was packed. We had to wait to get a lane. Then we headed to Costco as we had a dinner engagement, but we wanted to buy some stuff. They made the meat and we had the salads. The food was splendid! They made steak and lamb chops... WOW!

We also played mahjong. Alan and I were the big winners.

We didn't get home until 10:15 and Alan and Isaiah drove Fenny back to her house while I stayed home to clean up!

What a fun day we had!

What A VERY Long Yet Blessed Sunday!

I was up early and after my QT went and took a nap... that felt so good!

At 9am, I started running errands: going to buy veggies and jello, paying bills, and updating our bank books.

I came back home and dropped everything off and headed out again.

I went to church early to set up and then came home and took a shower. And I was out again as I had a dear sister who was getting baptized. It was a fantastic service. They started with worship! The pastor gave a short message using Psalm 23. A lady came up and talked about how they are made new through the Holy Spirit and people who were getting baptized had people praying for them, individually. And the baptism service started and people were called up two at a time and it was a beautiful time. Family members and friends were called to come and take pictures. I was able to see May and after taking a picture, I had to rush to House of Praise.

The friend I had invited came and the service went well. Then... it was time for the Town Hall Meeting! Alan was calm and talked about his resignation and then the Constitution. The Congregation will have two weeks to give feedback and then the next version will be presented by the end of October for the Congregation to 'approve'.

I finally got home at 9:20 and as I started blogging, the gal that I usually pray with called. It was great to have time to pray with her.

It has been a long day. I don't know what will happen in the month of October. At least it's a holiday tomorrow!

Unusual Saturday!

I was up and went out for 10K... and it was so hot!

I was back and took a shower and sorted through things. The gal picked up the bag of stuff yesterday!

Alan and Isaiah went to play tennis! I sat and read for a bit and then took a nap!

I made fried chicken and fries for their lunch. Alan had a big meeting with the elders that started at 11am. Isaiah went to meet up with Fenny at 1:00. And Alan's meeting ended at 2pm. Abby called and we were able to talk to her, which was great.

Alan and I rested and I got a few things done. The afternoon flew by! And Alan spent the entire evening going through the Constitution one more time as he will be presenting it tomorrow! Please pray!

It's going to be a busy day tomorrow but Monday is a holiday! YIPPY!

Unusual Friday

I was up early and went out to run for 10K. It was cooler and even with a slight sprinkle.

I was home and had a quick shower and tried to trim my hair just a bit.

Alan got back as we had set to leave for a brunch with friends who are leaving Taiwan. We had much to catch up on. The two hours went by fast!

We headed home and I prepared for my tutoring and took a short nap and headed out. Alan had a meeting with James and it was peaceful. It was peaceful only because Alan will not be challenging James. Alan will approach the Elders tomorrow at another meeting and from there, we will know more about what will be our 'stance'. Please pray!

Tutoring went well and they remembered to pay me!

I stopped to get bread as Alan wanted to have a simple PB&J sandwich.

When I got home, Alan summarized what happened at the meeting for Isaiah and I.

I watched one episode of the Rookie just to get my mind off of what is happening.

PR DAY! YEAH!

I was up early and went out for another slow 10K. And yes, it was very WARM!

I was up back and took a shower and then took down the clean clothes from the back balcony. I also went through Isaiah's clothes and found broken hangers.

Alan went out for a run and Isaiah took off for his job. I went down and totally forgot that recycling was yesterday! Ha, ha, ha... but there were several things that I brought up to give away: two stove top stainless steel tea kettles and one nice pot lid plus a very smaller items.

I took the morning to work on the talk. But at 10:30, the HP person came and picked up the printer as Alan could not get it to work. They are so great. Then the people from Buy Nothing Taipei messaged me and said that the movers can be at the old apartment by 12:45. So, I ate a quick lunch and then took off. They were so fast. The three movers got everything down and into the truck and so I decided to call and see if Ms. Hsieh was available at 1:15 and she was. That was so great.

I came home and downloaded my emails and listened to a podcast from the Gospel Coalition about the reality of AI! Very interesting... and then I watched one episode of the Rookie and worked some more on the talk.

There was dinner in the fridge but Isaiah had to fast for his company physical that takes place tomorrow morning. He is going to tip the scale... I wonder if he is going to be listed as 'overweight'. We shall see!

"Free" Wednesday

I was up early and went out for my 10K and the wind was BLUSTERY! I kept running but I wasn't going anywhere...

I came back and took a shower and started with my first project. Gathering the stationery notebooks and empty binders around the house and putting in one of the tubs!

Alan went to play tennis and Isaiah went to work. I had his lunch ready!

I then sat down for a delicious breakfast and read the next two chapters of Heaven.

Alan was home and we had a list of things to do: drop off two kids' bikes, go to the old house (someone will be picking up four dining room chairs and two tables tomorrow), go to Costco and then go to HP as our printer is out.

At Costco we had lunch and the HP repair/retail shop messaged us. The printer can't be fixed but they have a discount if we bring in the old one and buy a new one. Their office was... 10 minutes from Costco. So, we went. A new HP printer for 5517$ (about 170US$). We went and got gas and headed home.

Alan was tired and took a nap while I made fried chicken and put away all the food items!

I didn't have tutoring at 4:30. YIPPY! I needed the time!

Isaiah and I were messaging each other back and forth as I had asked about the three apartments that we liked... and he will have to fill out a form about getting a "Government Sponsored Housing Loan for Youth". We will make an offer, hopefully on Saturday! Please pray!

Tonight I had counseling with a couple and Alan had a Missions Meeting. Please continue to pray for our church "ISSUE".

Another Rainy Day

I was up early and went out for my 10k and it was raining with a slight breeze. LOVE IT!

I took a quick shower and started to make grilled ham and cheese sandwiches for Isaiah and Alan's lunch. I also put tilapia and corn in the rice cooker to make something for their dinner. I made couscous in the microwave... Parmesan couscous...

Alan went to the workout place and Isaiah took off for work.

I started to work on my talk and then went to YangMing Hospital. Again... I was very much reminded of Mom!

I had my knees x-ray. And there is some loss of cartilage and the growth of a bone spur on each knee. He scheduled me for an MRI to see the cartilage situation. The appointment is for October 13th. And he prescribed Celebrex... I wish he would have given me patches and cream...

I was home by 12:45 and had lunch.

The afternoon flew by... yes, I took a nap!

Then at 5:15, I took off to visit a friend's father who is in hospice... and I prayed for him and the other grandpa. Sad to say, no one visits the other grandpa. His family is all overseas and they just pay for him to be there... I think he's been there for 5 years already.

After the visit, I scootered over to my Bible study! I enjoy this group of ladies...

I was home by 10pm and headed almost straight to bed after publishing this post, cleaning the kitchen and putting things away!

Time to "Work"

I was up early and so were Isaiah and Alan. I got up an hour before the game... While they sat and watched the game (The Chargers won), I went and ran 10K. It was sprinkling.

I was home and after a quick shower, started to work as the WiFi was on. I wanted to work on my Admonish One Another talk.

Isaiah went off to work, and so did Alan.

I went down and got things from the car and started posting things for people to take: toaster oven, knickknacks, books, etc.

After breakfast, I went back to my talk notes prep. And then I had a long conversation with a dear sister who attends our church and was wondering what was going on... After that, it was time to head out for tutoring. I did have time for lunch. It was half a grilled cheese sandwich. Very yummy. With avocado!

The hour went by fast... We went long... I got home and had prayer time with another sister.

I had time to talk to Abby for about 30 minutes and then I headed out to meet with Isaiah and Alan. We saw three more places... I didn't like any of them.

We went out to Alan's favorite restaurant for dinner and didn't get home until 9:30, at which time I had to call and pray with another gal!

I didn't finish my talk notes, but I hope to have time to get it done this week. Of course, with the current church situation, I am not sure if I will be 'allowed' to share from the pulpit... PRAY! The Lord's will be done!

What A Sunday!

I was up early... and went out for a quick walk to get soy bean milk...

I was home and decided to take a nap... so nice!

At 11am I went out and checked the recycling before going to get patches for my knee, coffee packets, and veggies. Isaiah, Alan and I also went to see three other places in the Neihu area. Wow! They are so expensive.

We went to church when it started to rain and set everything up! Then we scootered home to pick up the car and that worked quite well.

Tonight, we had the "DISCUSSION" after the service. It was cordial... It was the power of PRAYER. It was the Holy Spirit. Please pray for next week: the TOWN HALL MEETING. How God will bring out of this situation?!?!?!?!

We dropped Audrey off and Fenny off and got home at 9:00 and I had prayer time with a sister.

And Alan and I had dinner! Wow...

What a Sunday!

What A Saturday!

I was up but not as early as my usual... so I didn't go for my 10K until 5:30am... and PRAISE THE LORD, it was still somewhat cool...

I came back and took a shower and rested.

Alan and Isaiah came back by 11am and we were out as we had four places to go and see... plus I brought a bag of clothes to 'sell' back to this second hand store... upscale second hand store. I'll tell you at the end of this blog how much I got...

We went to the first place... small and expensive... the second place was the same... Between the first and second place, we dropped off the clothes. 20 pieces... they will evaluate and get back to us.

We had lunch and while Isaiah and Alan ate, I went and paid a bill and donated books! YIPPY!

The third place was bigger, 3rd floor, with "Spanish Tiles" in the living room. I liked that place the best.

We then went to the fourth place and it was remodeled and had pictures of the UK on the wall. I didn't like the small alley and how the apartment was in this tiny lane. Isaiah liked it the best because it was nicely remodeled.

Isaiah went to see Fenny as the last apartment was right near where she's at. And they went to the night market for dinner.

Alan and I went back to the second hand store. They returned 9 pieces and took eleven of the nicer pieces for a grand total of 1077NT$... that's like 33US$. Oh well... I said OK and they gave me cash.

We were home by 6:15.

We put things away and headed out again to the YWAM Taoyuan Base Grand Opening... We were late... the drive wasn't bad but it was an hour away! The food was great and the celebration was fantastic!

What a day!

Productive Date!

I was up early and ran my 10K... my knee is beginning to feel better but I have made an appointment for an x-ray and to see a doctor next Tuesday!

I took a shower and went and napped for an hour.

Alan went to play tennis and Isaiah was up and out for work.

I had asked Alan to be back early so that we can load up the car and drop things off at the YWAM Taoyuan base. The car was so packed that Alan could not see anything and I had a fan on my lap! But it was so great.

I also took out all the things that I hope to sell to a second hand store... an upscale second hand store. The room is still packed with things but it's so much better!

We left and got there and unloaded. We had a lot of help unloading as the 'team' all came to help! We then headed out for lunch at a Teppanyaki place and stopped to get four CoCo drinks!

We were back by 3pm and I immediately took a quick nap as I had to head out to mail something and then go to tutor at 4:30. I made it!

The two hours flew by and I headed home.

Isaiah and I were going to go and sell things, but after reading all the reviews, I really doubt we'd get much. So, it was nice just to stay home and relax. I might try tomorrow!

An Mix of Everything PR Day!

I was up early and went for my 10K... slow jog...

It was muggy... and my knee is still getting better.

I was home and after a quick shower, I went back to take a nap. Alan was still fast asleep!

Both Alan and Isaiah got up and got ready and took off.

I stayed home and read...

Abby is now in the same time zone so that was delightful. They are taking the kids to take a boat ride... that's their plan for the day!

At 12noon I went to Soochow as Alan took my charging cable for my computer by mistake. So, I picked that up and then scooter over to the Brooks Run Happy Sale and bought two pairs of shoes.

Well... when I went in, I saw a lady in the back and waved at her, thinking I knew her. I didn't. The place was packed with people but the sales clerk helped me out right away. I told him exactly what I wanted and he said there were only two pairs in my size! Darn it. I was ready to buy 6 pairs. The lady I waved at walked over to me and asked if we can combine our purchases and get an extra 30% off. I'd use my credit card and she's go and get cash. I was like: SURE! While waiting for her, I had asked a brother who needed help to meet me there. He came right on time and I got his forms filled out and he took off. The lady came back with the cash. She bought two pairs and I bought two pairs. She gave me cash and my two pairs were only 2,000/pair! WOW... That's such a fantastic price.

I had planned on running a few more errands, but the sun was sizzling. I scootered home and made myself a salad and watched one episode of the Rookie!

I went and got a massage but I first stopped at the U-Bike Office and got my cards sorted out. Now I should be able to get an E-Bike! The two hours of massage went by so quickly. And when I got home, I made an appointment to get my knee x-ray: next Tuesday morning!

Alan and Isaiah came back from playing basketball.

I went to bed fairly early... tomorrow will be another full day... Alan and I will go on our date but we plan to drop things off for YWAM in Taoyuan and I have tutoring in the afternoon!

The Eagle Has Landed!

I was up early and went out for my usual 10K at a very slow pace...

After a shower, I was ready to go and Alan had landed and was on the 6am bus. I went and picked him up and he was home by 7:30.

He didn't unpack but went to play tennis. Isaiah took off and I went to help with the recycling. I came back up and rested and then headed off to meet the niece of a dear friend who was traveling in Taiwan with her boyfriend. We treated them to a huge traditional Chinese breakfast plus bubble milk tea. And we sat and chat for about two hours.. until they had to head out to the airport for their flight to Korea! They are actually traveling for four months! All around Asia!

We got home and did the unpacking and we had the AC on.

Alan and I both took a nap and I had to rush off to tutoring after I trimmed his hair!

Tutoring went well and I was home by 6:15.

Isaiah was already home.

Alan had another elders' meetings and he took off at 7:30 and I blogged and checked my emails and then had online Bible study at 8:30!

It's so good to have Alan back!

An update on Abby: She arrived in Thailand and had to take a flight to Cambodia instead of a bus as the border was not safe. They then took a four hour bus ride from the airport in Cambodia to where they will be ministering for the next month! Please keep her and the team in your prayers.

Too Hot for Comfort Tuesday

Yes, I'm sitting here blogging with the AC on full blast! It's unbearable outdoors right now!

I got up and went for a run... and I forgot my knee brace but I had slathered lots of cream on it... and then when I got back, after a shower, I put a patch on.

I got Isaiah's lunch together and cut up more fruit for my Bible study and took a nap!

Isaiah left and I headed out as I wanted to talk to Corenne.

I was at church and talked to her while I set up.

The study was great. We had lots of goodies and 7 of us were there. We feasted on food and manna!

After cleaning up, I headed home and put everything away and took a 2 hour nap. That's because I didn't sleep much as we did have Family Time. It was from 11:30-12:30 as Abby flew out to Thailand and Alan headed back to Taiwan.

I did a load and got started on checking my emails and blogged!

Tonight's dinner was simple: salad! And then I had tutoring at 7:30!

I'll be up early tomorrow-- my usual... and then meet Alan at the SongShan Airport at around 7:30am.

Blood Donation... Back to Running!

I was up early... and went out for my 10K and then went to the Indigo Hotel and got Judy. We then ran another 5K and I ran back home.

My knee is definitely feeling better but I wear a brace now. And after my shower, I ice it!

It was so much fun to run with Judy. We are both at the same pace: SLOW!

I was home and got Isaiah's lunch together and ate my breakfast!

Isaiah took off and I got to reading before leaving at 10am to run a few errands and then donate blood! I didn't get home until 1pm and ate lunch: a large cucumber salad! So refreshing!

I had things to get done... I dropped off stuff at Soochow and prepared the materials for the new study which will start on October 8th. I also started working on my talk notes for 10/19.

The afternoon passed very quickly.

And we were to have Family Time but Alan had a BIG meeting... Abby is leaving for Thailand... It's been a while since we've had Family Time. I'm not sure when we will have one...

I made cucumber salad and cut up fruit for my Bible study tomorrow. It's too hot to eat a meal!

Double Sunday!

I was up and did not go out for a walk. I rested!

My knee is feeling so much better!

I went out to buy veggies and fruit for the week... so great. And I got home and started to make pineapple juice!

Alan called but I couldn't talk as I was trying to finish things up and get out the door. I wanted to attend the TIC service as Jon and Judy were going there and I had invited an Indian gal to go. She's Hindu but open to knowing about Christianity!

In fact, I sat between two new comers and another gal I met last week sat and we talked after the service. She is also not yet a believer.

I had to leave at 12:20 as I wanted to rest and read over the ppt for the afternoon service since I'm translating!

We didn't get there until 3pm. I helped to set things up and had time to just sit. We had several newcomers... that was so great!

I ate an entire dinner bento box! And after helping to clean up, I got home.

It was already 8pm. I blogged and cleaned up and put things away, had prayer time and went to bed.

The week has started!

Hot Saturday!

I was up early and my knee was not in running condition... so I went back to sleep after my QT and then went for a 8K walk. That helped to loosen my knee...

I had a prayer biking event... so I had to make sure my knee was 'working'. I tried to get an Ebike but none of my Yo-Yo cards worked... What???

I invited Judy to join us... to that was so much fun! She's such a great sport... It was so hot... 35 degree... with a real feel of 44!!!!!! That's how hot it got...

\
We stopped three times and read Ephesians 1-3 and reached Burger King. It was so refreshing to drink a large Mountain Dew and be inside where there was AC! I made it... my knee felt good!

Judy and I rode back to the Indigo Hotel and Isaiah and Fenny met up with us. We ate at an Australian restaurant... It was so great to hang out with Judy and Jon!

Isaiah had made an appointment to see an apartment in Neihu. It was a 2 bedroom 1 bath. The location was great... but the first floor neighbor had a lot of 'trash' and the fourth floor neighbor had a lot of stuff on the stairway. We will keep looking!

I went and got my scooter tuned up and came home. Isaiah and Fenny were home. They left later to meet up with Cathi, Fenny's sister! I had the house all to myself!

Free Friday!

I was up and went out for a very slow 10K. It was more of a walk than a run... My knee is just weird... I can't really bend it...

I came back and rubbed pain-free cream and put a patch on after my shower. And of course, I iced it some more!

Isaiah was up and out... and I had the house all to myself!

I ate the last German pretzel bread for breakfast and read. Then I took a long nap! It was absolutely refreshing... I napped with an ice brace on my knee. Unfortunately, I did not wake up completely healed... The knee felt better but not healed!

I ate kiwis for lunch. They were already cut and in the fridge and very refreshing! I also had my apple slices with my delicious salad.

It was 1pm and so I turned on the WiFi and Alan called. How nice!!!! The 'situation' has continued... Please pray!

I had to prep for my tutoring this afternoon and I left early as my knee slows down my movements.

Tutoring went well... the second kid was just not motivated and feeling too tired.

After tutoring, I scootered all the way to Neihu and Isaiah joined us. We hung out with Gabe and Wei and their kids. They just moved. What a nice place!

We didn't get home until 10:25!

I just wanted to go to bed...

Interesting PR Day!

I was up and ran my 10k but my right knee feels completely 'off'... After a shower, I started icing it... it looks swelled up. I also put a brace on throughout the day!

I was home and it just felt so great to have a day... 'off'. I had planned things... Like reserve books from the local library, contact our scooter guy to see if he has a good second hand scooter as a friend is looking, clean up Isaiah's corner, get the clothes off the line, and READ! I just can't sit for too long, so I always plan little side jobs that are easy to get done.

I had a delicious breakfast as the gal on Monday gave me GERMAN breads and two salads. I'm still finishing up the breads including one that's a pretzel bread. SO DELICIOUS.

For lunch, someone gave me veggie fish soup. Now, the veggies and noodles were great, but it was difficult as she made it with fish that had BONES! I had to be very careful!

On Monday, I had made an appointment for a massage with Ms. Hsieh at 4pm, so I left early to stop at the local library to pick up some books for tutoring!

Two hours... and I fell asleep... On the way back home, I stopped to ask about a second hand scooter for our friend, Emily and I went to Carrefour to buy Coca Cola and soybean milk.

When I got home, I had dinner ready, but Isaiah went to play basketball at Soochow. I had the house to myself. And yes, I sat and read some more... And I also worked on the Bible study for HOP and the chapters in the book, Heaven! And I watched two episodes of the Rookie!

Lots Going On

I was up early and went out for my usual 10K. It was hot and muggy and humid! Not fun!

After getting home and having a shower, I did take the time to rest!

Isaiah didn't need to get up so early as he had a 'day' in the military... They paid him like 30US$. And he learned CPR but did not get certified.

I went down to assist the recycling pick up and then went to meet up with a gal... our monthly appointment to catch up. She always prepares lots of goodies... and it was the same today! We talked until almost 2:30 and I had to rush home as I had tutoring this afternoon.

I stopped to get salad and made grilled cheese sandwiches and went to tutoring and got there right at 4:30. Wow!

It was the first time back with this sweet kid. She's now in Kindergarten!

The hour flew by and I was on my way home. Earlier I had tried to mail something to the States and that cannot be done anymore! So, I will have to give this small packet to Judy on Saturday and ask her to mail it for me. It's crazy!

I was home and Isaiah got home at around 4:30 and ate two grilled cheese sandwiches.

What a day!

Great Tuesday!

I was up early and went out for my 10K.

I had nothing planned for most of the day, except for Bible study at 7pm.

So, after I got back, I took a shower and then rested.

Isaiah was up and out and I had my breakfast: coffee and a German danish. The lady yesterday gifted me a bag of German breads and goodies and two boxed salads! Wow...

Then I read and finished a book on Communion and then started cleaning these great containers that I got from the recycling area.

I rested more in the afternoon as I will be heading out to my Bible study this evening.

And yes, I posted more things to give away!

Started Tutoring

I was up and went out for my 10K. There was a slight cool breeze as it rained yesterday.

I was home and after a shower, I rested... It felt so refreshing.

Isaiah left and he needed me to do a load of laundry as he has a basketball game tonight. So, I got that started and then had breakfast before sitting down to read!

I also napped on and off. I finished reading the chapters for tomorrow's study on Heaven. And I'm reading another book on Communion.

At 1:15, I left to drop things off at church and then to tutor. At 3:30, after finishing my tutoring, I met up with a sister who needed some advice. She also bought lots of German breads and two Caesar salads for me! WOW...

I was home before 5pm and two other people came over for some counseling. So great... they also brought snacks for me!

Isaiah came home at around 6:15 and got dressed for his game and he will stop at the old house to pick up two small black fans for work!

Our friends left at 7:30... and I had the evening free.

But after what happened on Sunday, the pot has been stirred and people were messaging back and forth like a wild bee hive... It was insane!

Tomorrow is a 'free day'. I hope to avoid all the mean messages and just have tie with God and read and pray! I do have Bible study tomorrow night!

A Different Kind of Sunday

I was up early... and yes, I didn't run, but went and walked around the block. It was nice and cool.

When I got back, I got the fans from the recycling area and proceeded to fix them. Both of them now work! YEAH! I will be giving them away.

I then took a quick nap as we had our monthly HOP Prayer Time that started at 8am. When that finished at 9am, I got things together for Isaiah to take to church and I packed my stuff for the day. What did I planned for the day?

To start off with, I had planned to attend Taipei International Church. Their service started at 10:30. They also have communion on the first Sunday of the month. And after the service, they served some pepperoni and cheese pizza: my favorite! I saw so many friends... And I talked to a newcomer who graduated from Soochow University. Then I saw Gabe and another guy came up to talk to us. As he looked at me, he recognized me or maybe he recognized my voice. He was one of Alan's students from 22 years ago.

As I walked out of the church, I saw their 'free' book rack! I couldn't believe it. There were three copies of My Utmost for His Highest and a book on Communion. I took one copy of My Utmost and the Communion book and headed out to my scooter. I was planning to take the MRT to the Taipei Zoo!

On the MRT, I started to read the Communion book. I liked what the author wrote as a sample text for making the Communion Meaningful! First, the author invited all to read together Matthew 26:20-26. Then this is what is suggested as the text to say before people take the communion (I will write only part of the text!):

The only requirement for you to take Communion is that you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. If that is not the case, you can confess your sins and invite Him to be the Lord of your life right now. There's no better moment than this one to step into His freedom and grace. We do want to examine our hearts, though, before we take this together. Jesus came as our example. Everything that Jesus did here on earth was an example for us to model in our daily lives. In these verses that we just read, we see a stunning example of the purity of His heart. As soon as Jesus talks about the impending betrayal, He turns around and praises God. God help us to do the same.

The text goes on to talk about bitterness or unforgivenss or any time when we've been unkind, etc. It was just an invitation for individuals to reflect.

I arrived at the zoo and it was already 1:15. I put the book away... and tapped my YoYo Card and got into the Zoo. I think it was 50NT$.

I walked to the Panda Pavilion and found seats upstairs and sat myself down and took out my computer. I had wanted to use some time to write... To reflect while my memories are clear about these past four months since my Mom passed. God had planned something special on the 7th of each month thus far, and I felt God was prompting me to continue this. So I will do that for this year. I will go to a place that's special on the 7th of each month until May 7th, 2026 when I will be in Heidelberg.

The day flew by... I walked and saw the elephants, the giraffes, the panda bears, the penguins... Mostly, I just walked and memories flooded my mind. Yes, I did sit and write...

By 5pm, the zoo was shutting down and I took the MRT back to Neihu.

I had only written three pages... but it was a good start: Joyous Journey through Grief. My next time will be Tuesday October 7th! I'm planning on going to YeiLio, the Queen's Head, another place I went with Mom!
