Double Service Sunday!

I was up early and did not go out for a run... yes, it's my rest day. I did not go to WGE either! I did not go for a walk...

I went to pick up things that are to be given to different ladies at GEM as I spoke there this morning.

I did a load of laundry... and then left at 10am, after cleaning the recycling area.

The service was great... I shared on Jesus Walking on Water... Matthew 14:22-36!

I went long and had to rush back home to get Mom ready to go out for our afternoon service. Isaiah was home!

We always like to be at church by 2:30 to help with set up!

We had a lot of people for the GEM Service and we had a lot of people for the HOP Service!

Isaiah had a basketball game at 7pm, so he and Fenny left at 6:10. Our HOP Service also went long... One testimony went especially long. Isaiah was the translator!

I got Mom home by 7:45 and got her to bed... then I went to buy bread and went back to church as VBS lunch tomorrow is grilled cheese sandwich. I can't be there as I have to be at the Old House for the cement repair! So, I have a gal from my Bible study making the grilled cheese sandwiches. I just needed to get everything there TONIGHT! I'm glad I went over as the front door was not locked properly and the sign was still outside!

By the time I got home, I was tired... it's another early morning tomorrow... and a full day!

The Weekend...

I was up early... and with clouds in the sky, it was nice to run 8k.

I was home and got Isaiah up as he went to coach tennis... for $$$$!

I went to WGE and took a shower and then went and picked up books for tutoring!

I was home and it was Mom Care!

Isaiah had a lunch appointment plus I made an appointment for him to get a massage! I have to be home for Mom... 

Mom was quite active. She kept doing this weird hand motion... I tried to ask what she was doing but her answer didn't make sense at all! By mid afternoon, she was tired! 

This evening, Isaiah went off to dinner with his basketball buddies... 

I watched the highlights from the opening ceremony for the Olympics in Paris... and yes, I went to bed early!

I Need A Nap!

I was up early and out for my 8k. It was nice... cooler and cloudy!

I was in the shower and out in a flash!

I started the dinner cooking in the rice cooker as there will be three layers: chicken, rice, cheese!

Then it was Mom Care.

After she took off, I prepared for my tutoring and that went from 10-11:15! I had the dinner cooking while I was tutoring and it came out beautifully. I had that for lunch!

I headed out to drop off donations after I ordered the boxes which will arrive on Monday. They will be packed and be ready for pick up by Tuesday! The Philippines was hit hard by this typhoon, so they will appreciate all that we are shipping!

I was home and called the electrician. He came over at 3:30 and he will fix it... by drilling a hole into the cabinet next to the fridge, run a line from a socket in there to the fridge socket and then the fridge socket will work. We cannot find where the line came apart, unless we knock down walls! That line is from the other side of my kitchen, where my hot water dispenser is! AIYO! So... for 50US$, I had to make an executive decision and got it done!

So... I didn't have time to take a nap... My mind was napping, but I had to keep going!

Isaiah was home for dinner and he also enjoyed what I made as did Mom!

Ditto Yesterday's Title!

I was up early and went out for my run... it was cooler than yesterday... but still nothing! I ran 9k!

Even with 'nothing, they announced that today will be another Typhoon Day... No work for Isaiah... No Day Care for my mom! And today was to be my Sabbath... 

I decided to read and rest and to wake Mom up late... At least I had a few hours... but... it turned out I needed those few hours as the fridge was not working.

After testing several possibilities, it was the wall sockets that were out!

A friend came over to try to fix it, but there is something wrong with the electrical wiring in the socket. I will have to call the electrician tomorrow. I had an extension cord and hooked the plug to a socket in our dining room! So, the fridge is running! Glad that I don't have much in the fridge! With the fridge pushed out, I cleaned the back wall and the floor. It was filthy!

After Mom went to bed, I watched the movie, 23 Blast. It was based on a true story and quite good.

So, even though it was not exactly the Sabbath that I had wanted, it was still a delight!

Typhoon Day!

I was up early and went out and ran 9k!

I was hoping for a bit more rain or wind, but nothing. And there was no one out. I didn't see anyone until on my way back. I saw my neighbor!

I was home and checked the recycling area and then took a shower. Since I was not in a hurry, I decided to trim my hair. I quite like the result!

I had tutoring at 9am as we could not meet today.

I cancelled my 4:30 tutoring session. I didn't want to chance it by riding out to their house.

The session went well... and then it was Mom Care time.

I had lots of food in the fridge. Isaiah also ate!

I worked on my tutoring prep while Mom sat and ate!

And Mom Bea is finally posting or publishing... She had a wonderful birthday celebration!

The day went by slowly and I wanted to open the windows but could not. The wind would blow the slight rain fall into our house... it felt so nice and cool outside! It felt cooler than in the morning when I went out for my run!!!!!

There is rumor that they might announce that tomorrow will also be a typhoon day!?!?!?!?!?!!

Mom Bea's Birthday & Bible Study Tuesday!

I was up and I saw that the ground was wet, thinking it would be cool... Was I ever wrong!

It was so muggy that my palms had water dripping... 

I ran 8km.

I was home and got the lunch ready for the ladies. There were only three of us. One is out of the country. One is sick. We won't have our next study until September.

Then a neighbor had strollers for me to give away. I posted those and there were taken by 5pm.

I also got a bag of shoes and one of the pairs was a great one for Isaiah. He fit... extra wide toe box, extra cushion, size 9! Exactly for him! Brand new! My neighbors are so nice to me!

We finished the study at 12:45 and I took one of the gals home as I wanted to drop off the panini press for the VBS Lunch on Thursday. The gal is sick so I will drop everything off tomorrow, depending on the weather as Thursday is to be my Sabbath. God will work this out! I will have to buy bread and show the helpers how to make grilled cheese sandwich!

I had to rush back by 1:30 as the air drill started! No vehicle can be moving between 1:30 to 2pm! I got home and finished cleaning up and putting everything away. I also took down the clean clothes and put that away! Yes, tidied up Mom's room and bathroom and got the iRobot going!

I worked on my talk for Sunday as I wanted to send off the ppt by tomorrow!

Mom was back by 5:15 and I had dinner ready!

Isaiah went to play basketball tonight. 

The rain has started but it hasn't been bad. We will see...

Approaching Typhoon!

I was up super early... I think I should define what I mean... When I say 'super early', that means before 4am. If I say early, that means I was up by 5am. 

I was thinking I'd only run 5k, depending on the heat... but I actually ran 8k! So, perhaps this week, I will make my 50k. There is news that a typhoon might be hitting the island by late Tuesday night. It is a mild one, but it will dump a lot of rain and perhaps be quite windy. If that's so, I might have to cancel my tutoring for Wednesday. We shall see...

I was thinking about my lack of motivation for running... And I think it's only because of this heat! Once the weather cools down, I think I will want to be out there running more. I still enjoy the time to be alone!

After helping with the recycling, I came home and cleaned up Mom's room and her bathroom. I then settled down to read my student's writing while a simple white cake was baking in the oven. When that was ready, I left for Costco at around 10:30 with the cake!

I was to supply today's lunch for HOP VBS and Costco hot dogs was the plan. I had dropped off all the condiments at church plus the chips. So, off I went and got the hot dogs and drinks and went to church. I wanted to set everything up nicely. There were only seven kids plus three helpers. I then headed back to the Costco area, but this time, I went to RTMart. I wanted to get boxed drinks for all the lunches for these two weeks. I dropped them off and tidied up the area as the kids were finished with lunch and getting ready to start their afternoon program.

I was home by 2:30 and did not go to WGE. Instead, I took a shower and rested. It was so hot outside that riding around in the heat had completely drained me.

Mom was back and I had dinner ready. After she went to bed, I went off to meet up with friends from the UK for dinner. Isaiah joined us, too!
