A Different PR Day!

I was up early... thinking maybe I'd go for a run... but... instead, I went to the Metropolitan and had their buffet breakfast and went up to the 9th floor to their gym. Yes...

At breakfast, I brought the book, Theo of Golden... very captivating read... quite a well-weaved story... great plot... engaging...

While there, a lady messaged me... she had more food items for me to pick up... Every time she travels, she brings back tons of snacks... They can never finish everything... Unfortunately, my scooter could not take everything. That's how much she had... so I will have to go back again... 

I got home and before leaving this morning, I had called the plumber to go over to fix the toilet problem... after another 40US$... it still seems to have a problem. Someone threw something down there... and it is not getting fully unplugged... So, I went online to see what other contraptions I can buy... I can buy three contraptions for the price of one visit from a plumber... he just used a longer electrical snake, but still to no avail... 

My student messaged me... He wanted to change tutoring to Saturday... so I said OK... I was more than happy to stay home... 

Alan and Isaiah had basketball at Soochow...

Prayer time at 8:45. 

The four day weekend has started!

More Books...

These days when I say I'm up... it's not at 5:30... sad to say... I'm usually up by 6:33 and spend time with Jesus... 

And without my usual morning run, I don't even hit 7,000 steps a day! But my knee is feeling much better... and if the weather turns a bit cooler, I might be out there for a run this Saturday... We shall see.

So... Alan went to play tennis and then breakfast at the Metropolitan... He loves it... Tomorrow is the last day of this treat.

I spent the morning reading CS Lewis and two more books have arrived... Theo the Golden... and I reserved one more, Everything Sad Is Untrue... It sounds absolutely interesting just like Theo the Golden. So... I've replaced running with reading... But I have looked at a possible trip next year... I'd love to do a five day hike in the Black Forest from Freiburg to... You can actually have a choice as to how long you'd like to hike. It just sounds tremendously nice to hike and be in a lodge and hike some more the next day. The total hike is only about 140KM... or less... 

I had tutoring in the afternoon, starting at 3:40... and then again at 6pm.

Prayer time at 8:45... 

What a joyous day... Oh... yes, I went to pick up the books before my tutoring at 3:40. With this four day weekend coming up... I am looking forward to staying up late and reading... I am the speaker on Sunday... so... ha, ha, ha...

Battery Effort!

I was up and Alan was off early... He had discipleship with a new guy and then tennis and then off to the buffet breakfast at the Metropolitan... 

After Isaiah left, I sat and read! Anywhere I flip in that Signature Classics of CS Lewis is fantastic... "Cardinal Virtues"... those are so lost...Prudence, Temperance, Justice & Fortitude... What do you think? Would you agree?

Alan was back and we started to look into the battery situation. We want the car for our outing on Friday... and that's the beginning of the four day long weekend... I had a marvel idea: What if he removed the battery and we bring that over to the Toyota Dealer for them to charge it up for us???? And that's exactly what we did... after 'negotiating' with them, they finally agreed. We came home and had a wonderful afternoon at home with the AC on... ha, ha, ha... 

I had no tutoring... and no engagements... until 8:45 for prayer and then 9pm for online study... 

I will keep you posted on the battery ordeal... it is to charge for eight hours...

My knee is feeling like I can run again... the stuck feeling is gone... No pain and I can walk normally... It's weird... God has healed it... I continue to pray... I will keep you posted! Pray for a neighbor... I was helping with the recycling area in B1 and this couple came to throw out their recycling trash and the lady noticed the patch on my knee... we started to talk and her husband has severe knee problem... and I shared with him Hebrews 12:12. And I invited him to pray... I want to see them again... and ask about their 'faith'. I believe the husband at one time had attended church. I have no idea... just a feeling I had, even though he didn't seem familiar with the book of Hebrews. Yet, when I asked him to pray to God of the Bible, I saw a hint of recognition... Like, 'yes, I have thought about praying to the God of the Bible...' I am not sure if there was that hint in his heart. I pray God is using that recycling 'time' to encounter people from our complex and talk to them about Jesus!

Interesting Monday

I was up and Alan was up earlier for the game... they lost... 

Alan went to have the buffet breakfast at the hotel my brother is staying at... yes, he's back up in Taipei. And he loved it... Isaiah took off for work and then I went and ran errands. I had a check to deposit. I also went and bought soy bean milk and updated our postal account books. I stopped by the Toyota dealer to see if they would loan us a better battery... but no... they were not helpful. When I got home, Alan was home. We did a little research and then we had to head out. Off we went to Danhsui. The toilet was clogged yet again. 

This time I went with a snake, borrowed from a friend. It worked... but we don't know if it was completely unclogged or not. We shall see... We headed back home, stopping at a car parts place and looked at the cost of a jump start battery.

We were home by 4pm and will do more research. We would like the car to be moving by Friday as we were hoping or planning to have a trip to Taiping Mountain and go for a nice hike around this beautiful lake... It's a four day weekend! Mid-Autumn Festival and Teacher's Day!

At 5:30, I had prayer time... and then at 8pm we were at church for the in person prayer time.

The day sure had flown by... It was indeed an interesting mix of events...

Sunday!

I was up early... and Isaiah left to play tennis... He needs to exercise more... After his trip to the States, he is now at 85kgs. 

Alan went later... 

And I was home alone... I sat and read CS Lewis. He is such an excellent writer. I can flip to any page in that signature classic and read... and absolutely enjoy it. 

Isaiah came back pretty early and did a load of laundry and took down the recycling and trash. Alan came back about 30 minutes later. 

I did not plan to run any errands... just sat and had my breakfast and then a nice salad for lunch.

What a joyous morning... 

By 2:45, I left for church as I do the Love Cafe set up... 

I also translated for the service. 

After church, I had to go to my friend's house as her daughter couldn't find her glasses. They think they are still at the house. I could not find them and after doing a bit of tidying, I headed home. I was home by 9pm. Alan was already in bed because the Chargers' game is set to start at 4:20. I think he and Isaiah will get up for that...

Monday... ahhhhh... prayer time at 5:30 and prayer time at 8pm... 

We do have to get the car fixed and go over to the Danhsui house to fix the toilet... The week is going to be a busy one... so what else is new?!?!?!

I am praying this verse for today and this week... I need God to steady the knee that a give away... Maybe I will be able to run in another 7 days...

A Typical Saturday!

I was up and had a delightful morning... I finished reading the rest of the chapters for the book, Heaven and continued on my CS Lewis book. That's such a captivating book.

I had tutoring at 11am and took off... the hour flew by. Then I went to get my scooter tuned up and the guy lent me a battery... it didn't work to start the car.

Alan and I went to Mega PX as he needed a new glass protector for his cell phone and we decided to buy lunch there... it was a delightful spontaneous date... 

When we got back, Isaiah said that he can meet up for dinner... we had such a late lunch... but still... it was nice to have Teppanyaki at our usual place at the IKEA Mall... so back we went over there... 

The parking lot had a flea market, but it was wrapping up... oh well... 

Dinner was great and I got some hot dog buns from the grocery store there... 

We were home by 8:30 and Isaiah took Fenny home.

It was a typical Saturday!

Oh... as of today, I have not had a run for two weeks... Wow... God has helped me to not run by keeping the weather quite HOT... My knee is feeling better, but I know that it has not fully recovered!

Great MOE Day

I woke up early... and it was my MOE Day...

I was there on time and the editing project is still being being reviewed... SO... I had a free day... YIPPY!

I read... and at lunch time, I walked to ask about a check... I didn't make my step goal... and it was hot... 

I was heading to my tutoring at 5:05 and made it there early... 

The hour went by fast and I was home by 8pm... Alan was having a grilled cheese sandwich and I had a salad... YUMMY!

Prayer time at 8:45 and then I had the rest of the evening free... The weekend has started!
