A Fulfilling Sunday!

I was up early and even though I wasn't going out running, I like gettin up early.

I did a load of laundry and went down to get the recycling done!

Then, it was time to head out as I spoke at GEM for their morning service. Isaiah was home.

I got back and we got Mom ready to go to church!

It was set up time! And we had a lot of newcomers since two people were getting baptized.

I had to translate!

We didn't get home until 7:30 and Mom was very alert and talkative! Church and singing and clapping help a lot! She likes being at church! She also gets to eat snacks while we are busy with set up! On the drive home, she was counting all the street lights! But she thought I was Teacher Hsieh and Isaiah was her assistant! We have no idea who Teacher Hsieh is! And she also said she had seven children... Hum????

Last night we watched American Underdog. I highly recommend the movie! 

The week has started! And yes... it's going to be a hot and busy one!

Isaiah Is Home!

Yes, I'm so glad that he didn't have to report for the military duty for this week! I had made a dentist appointment for Mom, so he was a big help! I don't know how I can do it without him or having someone else around. I have to drive and then go and park the car...  Mom can't sit there on her own. You never know if she would get up and start to walk around.

I was up early and ran over 8k to hit 50 for another week of extreme heat!

Isaiah had gone to coach tennis! I went to WGE for a quick shower and a workout.

I got Mom up and she had breakfast and then we left for the dentist at 1:45. After her appointment, we went and ate dumplings and potstickers and had Coco drinks as well!

We drove to pick up the old clock that I had fixed. Free of charge! YEAH!

And we were home!

I had made an appointment for Isaiah to get a two hour massage, while I stayed home with Mom!

We had a light dinner and after she went to bed, I cleaned the house and then settled to watch a mystery TV show before Isaiah got home! We watched American Underdog! You can google that movie... and let me know what you think!

Beware! Extreme Heat!

I was out and ran my usual 8k.

It was nice to get home and drink some lemonade! So refreshing!

I forgot to update you as to the complex meeting last night! Yes, we are going to get a new janitor. And the meeting did not go long! Yes, I baked this orange banana concoction and they loved it. I thought it wasn't sweet enough. I should have put in another cup of brown sugar, but they thought it was superb! Overall, the meeting went well... The next one is set for August 15th. Please continue to pray!

So... after Mom left, I got myself set up in Abby's room to tutor at 10am. The hour again went fast and I had the AC on! I also ate my lunch in her room with the AC on!

At 12 noon, I headed to church to bring over the donation and to clean up the church love cafe. I've been wanting to do that but last week I was at the old house cleaning. And the cement guy gave me a quote -- 800US$ and the work will start on July 29th, taking about three days! I went to WGE and did my usual workout, but without rushing! I was home by 3pm and back in Abby's room with the AC on!

Tonight, Isaiah went out to dinner with Fenny.

I went out to have dinner with my Bible study gals at one of the ladies' home! She cooked and those who could not attend were online via Zoom!

Nap-filled Sabbath!

I was up super early and still did not beat the heat. Looking at the weather forecast, there is no time to beat the heat as it's just going to be hot... until about mid September! (When Alan is back!)

I ran 8k at a very slow pace... not as slow as Alan but still... my legs just didn't want to move.

I put a load in and hopped into the shower. Then I worked on organizing my closet as I hang things in sets for easy access! 

By getting up so early, I had more time before I needed to get Mom up, so I went down and made sure the recycling was done!

After Mom went off, I settled on the sofa and read. Well... read and napped!

I had a great breakfast and a great lunch...

In the afternoon, I turned on the AC and napped some more... 

I decided not to go out to WGE as the sun just sizzles and fries a person! The heat is intense.

I did bake a cake for the complex meeting tonight!

Mom was back and I had her dinner ready!

Isaiah found out that he wasn't selected to report for the week of military service. YIPPY!

Sizzling... Blaring...Extremely Hot!

I was up early and did get to go out before the temperature jumped... But I only ran 8k.

It was time to get Mom up and out... and then down to help with the recycling and then I was out for my first tutoring appointment. 

Before leaving, I had put veggies in the rice cooker and when I got home, they were finished! What a great lunch!

I decided to turn on the AC and take a nap! LUXURIOUS! I was up so early that the nap was absolutely refreshing!

Then I was out again and the heat was still blaring!

My second tutoring session went well... The helper was here with Mom.

This evening before prayer time with a sister I went to WGE. The AC is always so nice there.

Isaiah had dinner out with friends and he ran on the dreadmill at the office.

Worked From Home Day

I was not up early enough but I ran my 8k. Thank you, Jesus!

After a quick shower, I was getting Mom ready and out!

I had a lot planned for today!

I started with putting away the rice cookers, which meant doing a bit of shuffling in the back balcony.

Edit the new study. FINISHED!

Read and comment on 30 pages of my student's 'novel'. FINISHED!

Prep for my other tutoring sessions! FINISHED!

Send off my July 21st PPT! FINISHED AND SENT!

At 3:30, I finally left to go to WGE and then to go and see a friend's house that has been newly renovated! Stunning! The friend also gifted me with a bag of veggies and fruit. I got home and cut everything up and cooked the rest after Mom went to bed!

Mom came home with POOP all over her fingers. I had to put her immediately on the toilet and soak her fingers and cut her fingernails. I could not get that stuff off! It was caked on! SOLID!

After she ate and went to bed, it was nice to sit and have a free evening!

Isaiah came back and ran 4k. I will join him for one of his runs! He will run on the dreadmill at work for Wednesday and Friday. So maybe on Thursday??? It would be nice to run in the evening as I think it is cooler!

I didn't get to talk to Alan!

So, the headwaiter is someone who knew you before you became a believer. Thus, his comment of the wine (you) will be a comparison. Pastor Luke's point: Do people see a difference in your life after you've come to know Jesus? Are you a better or the best version of you since you've met Jesus?

A Sizzling Hot Day!

I was out for my run by 5:51 and of course, that was not early enough. I was able to complete 8k.

Then it was home for a shower and Mom Care!

After Mom left, I cleaned up her room and her bathroom and called Ms. Hsieh. YEAH! She was available so I went for a 90 minute massage!

It was absolutely blissful!

I decided to head over to the traditional market as there's a second hand store there. I was looking for pants with elastic and shoes with velcro for Mom. I found the pants, but not the shoes.

I headed back in the heat and heated up my lunch and called Alan. We talked for about 30 minutes! YIPPY!

I was out again as I wanted to stop by WGE. I didn't have time this past weekend!

I also had a Tatung rice cooker fixed for 12US$. I got that home and cleaned it up with citric acid! It looks like new.

At 3:50, Elaine came over for prayer time! It's nice to catch up with her once a month. I had the AC on!

Mom was back promptly at 5:10.

This evening, Isaiah went out for a 4k run! I was going to join him, but he wanted to run on his own... Oh well... Maybe tomorrow night or Wednesday night... or Thursday night... That would be nice to go do a short run on one of the evenings... We shall see!

Daily Lovely Insight:

When obeying God, don't do a mediocre job. Fill the water pots to the brim! 

That was one of the interesting insights from yesterday's sermon! The servants could have done a so-so job, but they didn't. They obeyed and fill each water pot to the brim. They could have thought it senseless to do as Jesus instructed them since the guests had already completed the custom of the Jewish purification. Why are they being asked to fill them again? 

Instead of questioning Jesus, they followed orders and did the job with excellence!
