A More Relaxed Sunday... Sort Of...

I was up early but instead of going out for a bike ride or a walk to the local market, I decided to put away more of the winter blankets and start working on my tutoring prep!

Isaiah was fast asleep. So, in those morning hours, I got a lot done. I took down the two loads of laundry that I had done yesterday and put away some of the bedding that's washed! The bed looks so nice!

It was nice to prep for my tutoring this week!

Then it was time to wake Mom up and fed her and get her ready for church.

I had already brought everything down to the car.

And yes, I had cleaned up the recycling area, too!

I had to translate for the speaker and Isaiah drummed. We had two newcomers, but I didn't get to talk to them much. One guy was from Scotsdale, Arizona. 

Pastor Luke shared from John 2 and he had several beautiful insights:

1. Comparing John 1:1 and John 2:1, what was the meaning of 'in the beginning' versus 'on the third day'?

2. Comparing the servant and the headwaiter, how did their experience of the miracle differ?

3. Comparing your salvation experience to this miracle, how are they similar?

I quite enjoyed his message. He spoke from his heart! Nothing fancy but truly Spirit-led!

We were home by 7:00 and I got Mom to bed. Isaiah took Fenny home on his scooter.

I also started editing the new Bible study materials that we adapted for our Tuesday morning group. We will take a break in August and then have one more session on September 3rd and start on the new material by the second week of September! I want to finish editing it and then we will get it printed out!

Another Packed Saturday!

I was up early and went out and ran 8k and reached 51.55k this week because I ran 9k one day... I'm just ecstatic, even though I used to run 60 a week! With this heat... getting out there six days a week is a feat!

I came home, and got my gear and went to WGE for a shower and a quick workout and met up with someone who was giving away a London Fog in my size! The person who was scheduled to pick up was a no show... YIPPY! I then went and dropped off a book for someone and then came home to clean house, stripping the bedding and doing two loads. Since Mom was still in bed as I put her to bed late last night knowing I had a few errands to run, I went to meet up with another person who had keys for me to pick up. She was staying at someone's house and leaving today! 

I was home and got Mom up and showered and eating.  It was so hot... I was drenched in sweat! Riding out in this heat is absolutely mind boggling brain sucking energy draining! And getting Mom ready is a workout!

At 2pm, friends came to pick us up as we went to a funeral. I could not have attended if they didn't come to help me. 

We were home by 5pm and I got Mom her dinner and after she went to bed, I went out to meet up with another person. She had polka pants for me and I had a helmet for her!

I blogged and messaged people. Isaiah said he will be back after 11pm tonight! His team came in second place! I would not get to see him as I'm usually in bed by 10:30 as I'm trying to get up early each and every morning! I average about five hours of sleep a night!

Super Productive Day!

I was up early but not early enough. I am thankful that I was able to run 9k. 

I was home and after a quick shower, it was time for Mom Care.

I sent her off and went down to the recycling area and then back up to clean Mom's room. I should actually title this post as: Super Cleaning Day!

Anyhow, I am starting to tutor Abby Brown on Friday morning. Honors English! I love it... I spent so much time preparing for class because I enjoyed prepping for it! It's more interesting than tutoring a 5-year old in Phonics!

When that was finished, I gathered all the stuff needed to clean our old house. The gal is back in the Ward for a month. When I went over on Tuesday, the house was a mess! So... I was there by 1pm and worked like mad for three hours straight! It was a lot of work, but I am so organized with my cleaning process that it's amazing what I got done in those 180 minutes! I also had a cement guy come to see what he can do to fix or patch up places that need cement work. He will give me a quote later on this evening.

I headed home with bags of recycling and trash and the fruit in her fridge! I had arranged a helper to come as I didn't know if I'd be finished by the time Mom got home. I dropped everything off and headed to WGE! YEAH! I brought stuff to take a shower and then worked out on my usual five machines!

I was home by 6pm!

Isaiah is in Taichung for the Company Basketball Tournament. Even though his team didn't make the regional cut off, the team that did invited him to be their 'team manager'. Isaiah relates to people well! They will stay at a luxury five-star hotel and all the meals are huge and paid for by the Company.

So, after Mom went off to bed, I had a free evening... 

This weekend will be packed with lots of activities... and it promises to be a hot one... no rain in the forecast!

The Canopy of the Lord

I was up early but not early enough. I did not make it out by 5:15. I was out by 5:40 and did my 8k with my legs still feeling like jello from the heat. I thought the heavy down pour would have cooled the morning way down, but no! It was nice to get back home and take a shower!

I put things in the car and checked the recycling area. That area is getting flooded by the heavy downpour each afternoon. 

When I came back up, it was time to get Mom up and out... and to start my Sabbath! YEAH!

I did my Revelation study. I read. I added to my talk for July 28th. Isaiah said he would help me with the ppt, so I hope to finish it by Tuesday of next week!

I had a delightful breakfast and a delicious lunch! And I made sure I have enough meals prepared for the rest of the week for Mom!

I was in no rush to go anywhere or do anything... I just sat and thought about life! It was very refreshing!

Isaiah had dinner plans after work.

I haven't prayed with Alan since he left for the States. We have not been able to set up a regular time! And we have not talked about when we'd have Family Time... maybe when he is in Brazil with Abby! We shall see!

Tutoring & Thundershowers

I was up early... and ran my 8k. It was hot as I went out just a bit too late. I must get out by 5:15!

I was home and after a quick shower, I was getting Mom up and out.

The recycling was next! And they were able to take everything.

I was off as my online student is now back in Taiwan and we are meeting face-to-face. It was a delightful hour!

On the way back home, I stopped at WGE. It was nice to be in the AC. And when I came out, the ground was wet... the thundershowers had started. I was able to get home and close all the windows before the downpour really begin!

It was nice to have lunch and then I put things in the car as I have a lot to bring over. I might have to go on my scooter as it's hard to park there. I need to clear out the things that have not been given away!

At 4pm, the downpour stopped and I was able to ride to my next tutoring session. And that was also a delightful hour!

I was really careful riding back as the road was very slippery. Yes, I had a helper here... I have to as I can't make it back in time. 

Tonight, Isaiah and I watched another movie... next week we will start running as he and Dad are in training for a run in November. It's going to be interesting... can they run for 12.5k? And how fast?

Bible Study Started Up Again!

I was up early, but not early enough... still, the Lord gifted me with 8k before it got too blaring hot!

I was home, took a quick shower, and got Mom up and out.

I headed out to buy a bottle of Ragu sauce and also made a quick stop at WGE.

The gals came and we had a splendid time. I had made something like hamburger helper and spinach soup. Two gals brought fruit. Another gal brought a loaf of bread and one more sweet sister brought bread pudding! Again, we feasted on God's word and some great food!

We all walked out at 1pm as one of the gals needed to get a suitcase from our old house! She and her husband and kids will be traveling in a week. I'm always more than happy to give or loan things out. After opening the door of our old house (and yes, it needs to be deep cleaned again!), I took off to pick up our annual family portrait. The rain looked like it was going to start, but it never did. 

I came home and turned on the AC. It was so muggy! I heard the rumbling of thunder and prayed for the rain to start as it really cooled down everything last night! But nothing... at least not in Neihu. I saw the dark clouds on the other side of the city.

Mom was home promptly at her usual time and I had so much to get done. 

Tomorrow is a full day of tutoring!

Time to Nap!

The weekend is always quite exhausting, so I try to take the time to rest on Monday... And so... I did my run of 8k and then got Mom up and out... and started cleaning the back balcony. Why? Because last night, I found an almost dead BIG cockroach! FREAKED ME OUT! I over-sprayed it with cockroach spray and decided that I'd clean the balcony and put more cockroach traps around the hidden areas.

I pulled a lot of stuff out and reorganized... wiped the floor well... and gave myself time to rest every 30 minutes.

At 10:40, I had to head out as a dear friend was going to register her marriage at the household registry office. It's like getting married again with a government certificate. Her wedding was on December 30th of last year. But since her husband is from Denmark, the process of getting him a long term visa is very complicated.

We finished by 12:15 and I scootered home for lunch and a nap!

It was getting very hot in the house! At 2PM, I left to go to YangMing Hospital as I had an appointment for a MRI... yes... after the mammogram, they made an appointment to get a MRI... IT'S FREE and I should get one as it is a better, more thorough, exam than the mammogram... So I went... the wait was longer than the exam. The doctor said, "Come back next year!" I guess after the age of 60, women can get a free yearly MRI breast exam! Colonoscopy is also free! 

I stopped at WGE and came home. I had to make Mom's bed and finish cleaning the house... the thunderstorm started and I wanted to go out so badly... but I had to resist. There were too many things to get done!

The studio called. The pictures are ready for pickup! I messaged Isaiah, asking him to go get it... that would save me a trip! 

This evening, Isaiah and I watched Arthur the King and I also had prayer time with two sisters. 

I cooked for the Bible study tomorrow! Probably only four sisters will be joining us. In fact, we will meet twice in July and then not meet until the beginning of September as three of the gals will be traveling in August!
