Pig in a Blanket!

Well... Alan is sick and he is currently wrapped up in his blanket... but that's not what I'm talking about!

I was up early and went out for only 6.8k as I didn't have time to run longer. And since I'm not in training for anything, I am taking it easy... run however many kilometers I can in the time that I have!

After Mom left for the Day Care Center, it was helping with the recycling! 

I was back at home and ate breakfast... and then I was feeling tired... I took a nap! I guess by 10:30, I've been up for almost 6 hours... 

This afternoon I had my Soochow Study and that's what we made: pig in a blanket. I brought all the ingredients and we had so much fun. Here are a few pictures:

I went home after the study as I had already arranged NOT to have tutoring this afternoon. And that was perfect as Alan was feeling sick. I think the weekend exhausted him! The AC was blasting in the room that he was staying in!

I had prayer time this evening... I'm looking forward to tomorrow...

A Special Gift of Rest!

I was up early and went out for a short run of 8k. It got warm very quickly.

After Mom left, a neighbor dropped by to chat about an issue related to a decision that was made at the last meeting! There is a water spigot that people used. But the board voted to lock it. Many people with pets are not happy. I did not vote for locking it. Anyhow, she wrote a letter of complaint which she wanted to explain to me! When she left, I was able to go to the bank to pay a bill and then I stopped at WGE for a quick workout.

I was home by 11:30 and made myself a huge salad! Delicious!

I laid down for a short nap and an hour went by! YIKES!

I had to read over my student's essay before tutoring. I turned on the computer and downloaded the email and to my utter surprise, the student had to cancel as the school added an extra session since his class will be traveling in two weeks! What a blessing!

I also received the library notice that the book I reserved arrived. So, I scootered over there to pick it up and then used the rest of the afternoon to work on my talk for May 26th.

What a gift of rest from God.

Mom was home promptly and I had her dinner ready.

After she went to bed, I scootered over to my Tuesday evening Bible study!

Alan has ICEE Week, which is quite exhausting. Even though he is retired, he supports this event, which he started. That means he is there for every event!

Isaiah had basketball after work. 

We still have lots of leftovers, which is such a praise! Another special gift from God!

Catch-Up Monday!

I was up super early and ran over to where I parked my scooter after my time with Jesus!

I rode it back and stopped at WGE for a shower and worked out on three machines.

I was home by 7:30 for Mom Care!

Before leaving I had put in a load of wash... So, I hung that up and got Mom showered, dressed and she ate breakfast and took her down to the van!

I called and Ms. Hsieh was available, so I went for a 90 minutes massage! YIPPY!

I had a lunch appointment at 11:30 and three hours went by so fast!

I rushed home to do a bit more cleaning as Mom was due back all too soon. I also invited James and Emma to come over for dinner as we had so much food in the fridge! It was a delight as James was hungry!

Alan came home and James and Emma left. They were here for only about an hour!

They will be taking off to Hong Kong tomorrow and Emma can't come back to Taiwan! It's complicated!

This evening after putting Mom to bed, I had prayer time with two sisters.

Isaiah went to get his hair cut after work!

This week will be busy!

Isaiah went back to the retreat by bus and Alan picked him up.

I was up super early and got things ready and Mom up and showered and dressed and eating... 

The helper came at 11am and I had to rush out the door on my scooter at 11:09 to catch the 11:32 bus... to Linkou!

The bus didn't come and I was getting a bit worried. It finally showed at 11:44 and I was in at the bus terminal and the brother of the bride came to pick me up.

I thought there was to be a rehearsal, but NO... the place was roaring with activities as they were still setting up for the reception and the amount of activities that were happening... I found the MC and we went over the program. I had no idea what each person was going to say but the program looked long!

God sustained me... 

After helping to clean up, I got a ride to the banquet hall... and the Lord worked miraculously as I was seated at a table with two other couples who adopted and their kids were there, as well as a dear friend's adopted adult son who is now back in Taiwan. So, three 'sets' of adoptive parents with three different adopted kids... the conversation was so amazing... The Lord also brought me to meet up with some other Christian friends who needed a bit of encouragement. Then I got to talk to the photographer who is from Columbia and another gal from North Carolina... The whole day was filled with some God-ordained, God-led, connections!

I didn't leave to go home until 10:10 and with all the food that I packed up, I had to take a taxi! 

Isaiah was home and Alan just got home. Why? He had to go back because the person who used his computer left the charging cable at the retreat site. The poor guy was exhausted.

I spent the next hour getting everything put away and crashed in bed by 11:45!

The Sunday Service was at the Retreat and the title was: Received the Holy Spirit, from John 20:22!

I think the Holy Spirit was breathing on me as I translated. People said I did a great job... and I felt as if I was stumbling through the whole service. I think the Lord did something between what I said and what they heard!

Retreat Saturday?

I was up early... and after a quick 8k run, I was home to take down the clothes and put things away! I got Mom up and eating and continued with some housework in preparation of being away for the day!

The Helper came at 11:05 and we left soon after that... stopping to buy CoCo, of course!

We drove to Ilan and bought fried onion cake with eggs and ate it in the car as we headed to the retreat site. It was a very nice place!

Alan got his room and we rested and had afternoon tea! That was part of the retreat package.

Dinner was at 5pm, but we had to pack ours as Isaiah and I took the bus back to Taipei. Yes, Isaiah had two engagements and I had to be home for Mom Care!

Tomorrow, Isaiah will head back over there on the bus and I will be heading to Linkou to be the translator for a friend's daughter's wedding! We both will be taking the bus, but in different directions!

I'm glad we packed the food as the salad was so good... It really hit the spot when I got home this evening!

Relaxing Date!

I went for a walk on the treadmill at WGE after Mom left for the Day Care Center!

Alan and I met back at home at 10:30 and decided to eat the leftovers as I had made this great salad and we still had two burgers which I added extra cheese! We took a nap for an hour and then headed out! We were in search of giant marshmallows. Costco didn't have them. RT Mart didn't have them. We finally found them at Carrefour! YEAH! We did find some great chocolate bars at RT Mart... so 1000NT$ there and another 800NT$ at Carrefour! Alan wanted to play a game and do S'mores at the campfire time during the retreat. Isaiah and I won't be there for that. 

When we finished at Carrefour, we looked at our watch and it was already 5:30. We had to head back home!

Tonight, we met up with friends from the States for dinner.

Isaiah will have softball practice tomorrow morning and Alan will play tennis. I hope to go for a quick run then get Mom ready before the helper comes at 11am.

This weekend is going to be packed!

My Recovery Run... A Much Needed Sabbath Rest!

How delightful to rest... after such a hectic Wednesday!

I just sat on the sofa and had my coffee and my scone and a book... That was how I spent the entire morning... 

I ate lunch and went back on the sofa... I did put a load of laundry in... And I set the iRobot mop to go around the house. 

At 3:30, I went out and it was cloudy and warm. I ran only 8km and less than an hour... and I was home to shower as Mom was due home all too soon.

The morning went by so fast... between 9:30 and 11:22... it was weird... I sat down at 9:30 and then when I looked at my watch again, it was 11:22!!!!

Tonight, I cooked for all of Mom's weekend meals since we have a retreat and then I have a wedding to attend and help out at! Later, after I put Mom to bed, I went over to the Hyatt to pick up one of the luggage and the stuff that Angel will leave here with me.
