My Recovery!

Last night because of the way I was feeling, I thought I wouldn't even be able to walk today!

But praise Jesus! There were so many people praying for me... and the Lord came through.

First of all, I was able to sleep. My head did not give me too much trouble and I didn't bleed!

I ace bandaged my butt with an ice pack and slept very nicely!

This morning when I woke up, I felt amazingly good.

The soreness around my butt was gone! There is a bruise coming up... might be quite a big bruise!

The bump on my head was still there, but not much pain.

Now, my neck muscles are extremely sore... so weird... If I press the muscles are my neck... very sore. So, I had to put patches all around that area and it's slightly difficult to move my head in all directions.

I felt so good that I actually went for a walk at the River Park. It was again the perfect weather, but I controlled myself and did not go for a run! The walk was enough!

A dear sister dropped off a tube of ointment for the cut on my head.

Another sister dropped off a massager which she said will help the soreness around my butt. I have yet to try it!

Hopefully, after another night of sleep, I will wake up completely healed!  Thank you Jesus!

I Pulled An "Annie"!

For those who know Annie, you might understand what I've done...

Annie is the Super Woman who jumps off walls, rides on and off sidewalks, and pretty much is capable of most any stunts that I'd never even dare to attempt! But as she has gotten just a little older, she is getting wiser... trying not to push herself too much with these daredevil stunts.

But, me, I'm a total opposite. I ride my bike like an old lady. I climb down a wall slowly. And I will not try any stunts, no matter how people might be there to taunt or dare me.

Today... with the approaching typhoon, the weather was just perfect... As you know, I have not gone out for a run... due to the extreme heat! Today... it was sprinkling, the temperature in the mid-20's and a slight wind... Oh... My favorite weather for a run!

At 3:30, Alan said, "Honey, I'm surprised you're not out running." He went for a 5km run this morning. I, on the other hand, was busy trying to finish up a few things. And 3:30, I knew if I didn't go out, I wouldn't have time as I had to tutor at 5:30.

I jumped into my running clothes, pulled on my running shoes, with my headphone set on my favorite Christian running music, I was out the door faster than Flash!

My legs felt so good as I dashed down the hill... Thinking to myself, "Oh yes... this is a 10k day!" Not even running 1.5 km from my house, I made an U-turn and slipped! I flew up in the air and landed on my butt and my head went back and banged the sidewalk! (This is not an exaggeration!) I don't know how I got up! Wait... I don't even know how I slipped! My head was spinning... I felt somewhat dizzy. I was soaking wet as I was smack in the middle of a puddle. I felt 'water' still dripping and went to wipe it off. That's when I saw the RED LIQUID! It was not water. My head was bleeding! I walked to the nearest bathroom. No paper towels! I then went across the street to the fire station! They saw the blood and was going to take me to the hospital. I said... NO NEED... I just need some paper towels. They handed me a stack and forced me to sit down. They proceeded to patch up my head! These guys were so nice and helpful! I thought they were going to bring out their tea set and we were going to drink tea together there at the fire station!

I slowly trotted home and took a good shower! Alan tried to patch me up! At 5:10, I hobbled out the door to tutor with my head very well bandaged up!

By the end of tutoring, I was so sore that I could barely walk! It wasn't my head that was pounding. It was my butt! I can't describe this soreness...

It's going to be an interesting night, when I try to sleep...

God is good... Alan said the gash on my head is about an inch long!

And I don't think I'll be running for at least a week... my butt is too sore... PRAY!

No Time to Eat!

I didn't think it would be such a run-around day, but that was what happened!

After dropping Abby off, I was home to get Isaiah up as he was off to his freshmen's week of activities. He wanted me to meet up with him at 1:30 before his physical in case they needed any other document! It turned out that he can waive two freshmen classes because of his high TOEIC score. So, having him take the test was definitely not a waste of money!

Alan got busy with watching the Chargers game... (they lost!) while I went off to run errands and to look for 2018 calendar (found the date book fillers) and some birthday gifts (did not find what I wanted!) I also had a packet of things to copy and books to return at the library. Because of the coming typhoon, the weather was extremely hot!

I came back just before 1 and had to eat something as I was really hungry!

We got to Soochow right on time! But Isaiah's group was not yet ready for their physical. I asked and he had all the necessary document.  We had things to drop off at Alan's office, so we stayed there (and he had AC) until 3:30.

I had to tutor at 5:30. So, I got my stuff ready and after a quick power nap, headed off. Tutoring went well... and I was again off, looking for delicious fruit for our shakes and salads!

Abby had to be picked up at 8pm. I got home at 7:45 and asked Alan to go and pick her up. I just wanted to sit and eat something... plus get all the fruit cut up!

Abby came home and didn't want to go for a walk... She was tired...

And so was I.

So, after I finish blogging, I'm going to take a shower, worked on my talks for an hour and head off to bed!

Oh... a typhoon is set to blow through tomorrow... but I don't think it will be bad... so all activities and school will not be cancelled!

Freshmen Week & Other Things

This morning started a bit too early as I did not sleep well. My throat was bothering me all night! And I got up five times to pee as it was so hot that I drank tons of water!

After dropping Abby off, I started working on putting away all the food stuff that Alan brought back. Before I finished, it was time to drive downtown to drop Isaiah off for the start of FRESHMEN WEEK. Unlike Ming Chuan University, the campus looked so calm... There weren't students lined up all along the entrance of the school... There weren't a line of cars or busses pulling in... There weren't crowds of people walking in... Isaiah came back and said that perhaps not every freshmen came! He got roped into signing up for the English basketball team.

Alan came back from playing tennis and started listening to a football game! He proceeded to spend the day working on the computer. He bought an external drive and an iCloud something...

I had to tutor in the afternoon... but before that, I put away the food and the suitcase! It was a miracle! The only great thing is that the food stuff will all be gone... all too soon... I can again stock up in October when I go back!

I did not go for a walk... No exercise at all... I was too tired as I think I only had about 3 hours of sleep last night!

Alan pushed through and went to bed at around 10... Abby came home from cram school at around 10:30!

As Irma is blowing through Florida, Taiwan is set to have a typhoon blow through starting on Wednesday! Isaiah is supposedly going on an overnight trip starting on Friday... Hum? Interesting week this is going to be...

The Eagle Has Landed!

The kids and I decided to drive out to the international airport to pick Alan up...

It was so nice to see him.

We came home and unpacked -- all of us helping, which made the task very easy and fast! Of course, I have another 3 hours of cleaning and sorting as I will have to put away the suitcase and carry on. And by putting away, it's an art to get the suitcase and things back into the very limited storage space that we have. I will also have to put what I've gathered to bring back into the suitcase and carry-on! I also have to find a way to put away the 20 boxes of cereal that he brought back.

We all liked the gifts that people bestowed upon us! What a wonderful surprise!

We went to church after resting for about 30 minutes. Alan pushed through and finally went to bed at 9pm.

Tomorrow is Isaiah's week of Freshmen activities. Alan will probably take the time to rest... Abby has school and cram, her usual Mondays!

It's so nice to have Alan back! And yes, it's hot... He will probably go and play tennis... early in the morning!

My Legs Are Sore!

I went for a run last night thinking it would be cooler. Unfortunately, the rain did not cool the evening down much.

I ran only 5 kilometers and ran out of steam! I was hungry and my legs didn't want to move. So, I walked 3 more kilometers to get home!

Today, Abby and I went to the Sports Center and did a treadmill walk on high incline! It was so much nicer as there was AC! We went for a full hour and felt great!

Alan is coming back tomorrow!

A Prep Day!

I set aside today to prepare messages as I did not have to go out to tutor!

I didn't even go for my morning walk as Abby said that on Fridays she no longer needs to get to school before 7:30! This is a new thing... she just needs to get to school by 8am. So, by the time I dropped her off... the heat was already way too much for a walk outdoors!

I headed back home and planted myself in front of the computer and worked, taking only 10 minute breaks after 90 minutes of working!

I got a lot done -- praise the Lord!

In the afternoon, Isaiah went to his ortho appointment. Good news -- he will be taking his braces off in two weeks! Amazing! So, he will start his first week of college and the next week -- he'll have no braces! What a new start for him!

I went to the library and got things copied off... I also took an hour in the afternoon and went through my t-shirts and the books in our study! My goal was to give five t-shirts and five books away! I try to evaluate all the stuff I have on a regular basis!

As soon as Isaiah and I got back, it started to pour! And it rained for more than 5 minutes! YIPPY! It made the afternoon very muggy... but I know it will help to cool down this heat...

This evening, Isaiah went to the worship team fellowship time, while Abby and I went for a bike ride... I was contemplating a run in the rain, but Abby is not keen on running...

Oh... as for my prep of messages... I got Luke 9 finished and am about 70% finished with Luke 12! I also sent off this week's message on Luke 7, including the power point file!
