Nice Day for A Run

I looked back at my blog and realized that the last time I went out for a run was on January 25th, in 6 layers of clothes!

That was almost a month ago!

Today, I went out for a short bike ride and a run. I didn't need to wear 6 layers of clothes. In fact, I just had a long sleeve shirt and a pair of thin sweats on. That's how warm it was. I biked down to the River Park and ran for 10kms. My legs were not used to running! But it was good to be out.

I spent the rest of the day inside -- finishing up a test, making phone calls, answering emails, and just generally catching up on things.

Alan came home at 7pm and I went to pick Abby up at 7:30.

Isaiah is still down south. His team will be playing more games tomorrow. Hopefully, they will win their games tomorrow and they will head back up tomorrow night.

Sweet, Sweet, Super Sweet

Abby did not go with me to pick up Alan. She went to bed.

So, I drove out there, parked and met him when he came out.

Today, I spent the day putting away all that stuff he brought back.

And to say that he brought home a lot of sweets is an understatement. Maybe a better word would be TONS of sweets -- Danish, donuts, candies, chocolates, even packages of pudding mix. Wow. We are well stocked up now.

I brought some sweets to church to share with people.

I asked him to bring some to school tomorrow to share with his faculty staff and students.

My sister bought Peet's Organic Coffee for me!!!!!!!!!! OH MY... "Sweet"

I had to reorganize the balcony pantry and my living room closets as I had to find a way to fit everything.

Yes, by 2:15, everything was put away and we headed off to church.

So sweet to have Alan home!

A Fast Saturday

School was in session today as all students had to make up for the extra day of holiday that they had on 2/12. So, I dropped Abby off at the MRT Station and came home to call my mom and get some housework done.

I tutored from 10-12 and at 12:40, I was on my scooter, heading to Tienmu. I had a lunch date with two sisters as I helped to edit one of the sisters' job application. She got the job and wanted to treat us to lunch at a fancy Thai Restaurant. It was extremely expensive.

We could have sat and talked all afternoon, but I had to get back to pick up Abby.

First, I went to run a few errands and did a quick hike. (I can now make it to the top of the Rock Face and back down in less than 50 minutes!)

I kept calling Abby and she finally answered. She was already home.

So, I came home and did a video chat with Alan as he was in Seoul, Korea already, waiting for his next flight.

Yes, tonight he will be home by 9:40. Abby and I will drive out to Taoyuan Airport to pick him up. He said he bought a lot of sweets!

It will be a sweet reunion!

One Perfectly Free Day

I rescheduled everything in order for me to have a free day. It was a day without appointments.

Yes, I could have done a million and one errands, but I decided not to.

Instead, I spent the morning putting away a box of paperwork that my sister brought from the States. I couldn't throw the stuff away. What stuff? My old writing assignments from 32 years ago when I got my master's degree! What else?  Old pictures from our wedding banquet!

I mopped the floor and cleaned up the house a bit.

Then I went off for a bike ride. I had almost 4 hours. On the way back, I parked the bike and walked over to the local shopping area. I hadn't gone into this particular shopping mall for over 5 years. It really improved tremendously. I couldn't buy much since I was on a bike. But I bought cookies and pens (for the kids) and facial wash -- all on sale!

By the time I got back on the bike, the temperature had dropped and the wind had picked up. It was very enjoyable.

Tonight, only Abby and I were home. Isaiah had gone down to Kaohsiung. And Alan won't be back until tomorrow night.

Too Exhausted to Run

Yes, it's true.

Physical exhaustion hit me today.

I had many things to do this morning.  I finally got back at 2 in the afternoon and was planning to go for a run.

But instead, a nap called out to me and I answered.

I slept from 3-4:30, when Abby called as she was getting close to Xihu Station.  I couldn't believe it. If she didn't call, I think I would have stayed fast asleep!

I tutored this evening and it was so nice to see Mark. He and his parents went to Japan and they bought a beautiful pen for me from Disneyland, Tokyo, plus chocolate covered butter cookies. YUMMY!

A Day of Miracles

Every day is a miracle, but today I experienced quite a few.

The Lord revealed to me a secret code.

The Lord helped me to get things done expediently. (This I experience quite frequently.)

The Lord gave me specific verses and words to speak over a dear sister.

The Lord led me to find a friend's house when I didn't have the address.

The Lord gifted me with a bag of shoes -- most of them BRAND NEW.

All day... I was WOWED by God.

So, even though it was a cold and wet day, my heart was warmed by the very real presence of God.
(And I missed blogging on Tuesday. I don't even know how that happened! I think after Annie and KR left, I must have spent the time crying because I miss them so much!)

They Have Taken Off!

These past 10 days went by way too fast!

It was so wonderful to have my sister, Annie and her husband, KR here.

We didn't make it to Kaohsuing.

We didn't make it to Ilan or Taitung for surfing.

And I don't feel as if we ate our way through Taipei or the night markets.

But we did get to see and do and eat quite a bit.

For one things, I got to do so many things that I have been wanting to do and I did quite a few things that I usually rely on Alan's to do. The biggest one is -- DRIVING! I drove more than I have ever driven before. I went to the airport twice! BY MYSELF. I drove to Hsinmenting! I drove to Yiliou! Finding the way and finding parking were two major challenges.  God helped me through.

I took them to get their massage and facial. Then we rushed to get their hair done. We got home and I loaded up the car.

We pulled out of the driveway and Annie said, SHE CAN'T FIND HER PASSPORT. So, we stopped on the side of the road and pull out several items to rummage through. The passport was with some of the tickets and brochures she kept from her visit to the National Palace Museum. We piled back into the car and I had to SPEED to get us to the airport.

God is able. We got there by 4:45. They were checked in by 5:25 and we went to the Burger King area and sat down to eat as I had bought all kinds of goodies. Water dumpling, sweet red bean soup with three kinds of added treats, and cream of corn soup! By 6:10, it was time to get them to the gate.

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...

They walked in to customs and I went out to the parking lot to drive home in the cold dark evening.
