Back One Week

Today marked one week since my return from the States and I decided to give myself time for a long nap. I had to teach at the NSB, but I just decided to rest!

It has been a tremendously busy week and I think tiredness caught up with me!

Alan and I spoke on Sunday.

We have had friends here from the States.

I started back tutoring and teaching, so I had to prep for this.

I got Mom Bea's booklet finished!

I also had PTA meetings to attend and people to visit.

Plus the usual things of cleaning the house!

It also has been extremely hot, which drains me of all energy!  Not to mention, my right shoulder is still hurting!

Getting Things More Organized

What a day!

I don't even have time to feel jet lagged.

Actually, I think running in the morning has helped to give me more energy throughout the day.

I went to the library and they had one of those blood pressure machine. Wow, my blood pressure was so low... 83/57, pulse of 65!  That was at 9:30 in the morning.

I had lots of errands to run... going to the copier place, going to the library, going to the Blue Market...

Then in the afternoon, I had to prep for my tutoring as well as my class this week. I noticed that our study really needed dusting. So, I proceeded to pull things off the shelves in order to dust. I didn't realize what a task that turned out to be!

A friend wanted some floor puzzles and giant books and wondered if I still had any of ours. I had given so much of our stuff away... but I still found one more floor puzzle and lots of giant books!  So, this led me to think -- it's time to get things more organized. Since I didn't have that much time, I decided just to start small -- a few easier projects for today. It was a great start... but it made me realize that I've got a lot of work ahead of me!

Family Fun Day

We had an unusual day.

We attended morning worship service at Home of Christ, where Alan and I were the speakers.  It was fun. Their worship in songs was kind of short. The whole service consisted mostly of the speaking time.

Afterwards, where Alan parked was right next to the upside down house and this whole park that had many different exhibitions. They had stores that were really workshops where you can learn how to make leather goods, jewelry, or even wood items.

I had made reservation at an all you can eat afternoon tea place. It was so great as the kids and Alan enjoyed the buffet selections.

We had to skip HOP. We were thinking of going on a 'bay cruise' with the people from PTA, but that would have cost 1,000NT$ per person. We wanted to just hang out as a family. We ended the family fun day with time of sharing and praying together. The kids also had to get some homework done. The weekend went by way too fast.

It had been a long time since we had a family fun day! It sure was nice to be together.

Enjoying My Early Morning

While in the States, I got up in the middle of the night to check on Daddy George. Then I'd stay up to have my time with God.

Upon my return, I decided to keep to a similar schedule. So, I'd get up at 4:30 and spend time with God.

Since it gets hot by 7am, I decided to go out right afterwards.

It has been quite enjoyable. I rode my bike one morning. I went for a run another morning. I went for a walk on another morning.

I hope I can keep this up throughout the whole summer as there is no way to be outdoors after 9am as it is so hot that I feel like a slab of butter melting on the sidewalk.  The weather does get cooler if there is an afternoon thundershower. But you never know...

Taipei Reunion

Tonight was a wonderful evening spent with some fantastic people.

Nancy & Serge and their kids are here for a whirlwind tour... after being away from Taiwan for almost 20 years.

Amy and Darwin were the hosts of the party and the evening just flew by.

I'm Back!

It's been over two weeks since my last post.

I took a whirlwind trip to the States. My head is still spinning.

I never get headaches, but on the plane back to Taiwan, I had a headache. It was most likely due to overly tired eyes. After four hours of sleep, I quickly recovered.

One highlight that I want to mention was the great TGIF 30+ Year Reunion! (See the picture above!) It was a beautiful time of remembering God's faithfulness. As we held hands to close in prayer, my heart was overwhelmed with gratitude and my eyes filled with tears.

Prayer Walk & Answer Prayer

This was a long day.

We left early to go to New Beitou Baptist Church as I shared briefly before going out for our prayer walk. The weather was so hot.  We were out there for about 40 minutes.

Then we headed out to BaiShaWan as Tom and his kids were getting baptized. (Jacqueline also decided to join them as she never was immersed.) We have been praying for Tom. It was an amazing time of worship at the beach.

We got back by 7:45 and had to clean everything.

I had cooked dinner already.

Tomorrow morning I leave for the States... I am going to sleep well tonight!
