Abby's Class Competition & Test Analysis -- All On The Same Day
Abby went to school for the entire morning as they had a class with class sports competition. When I picked her up at 12noon, she was very sad. They lost their first game by 2-1 and it was only single elimination. Then they gave out a simple analysis about the tests results -- how many incorrect questions would land you at what grade! This was one of the things that we were waiting for as it takes into account everyone who took the tests. So, if the subject was difficult, then you can have more incorrect answers and still be in the A range. But after looking at it and even though we did not compare her answers with the computer answer sheet, she had that 'sinking' feeling!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, tomorrow we will know. Then it will be a 'gamble' to see how Abby will fill in the choices as compared with what all 68,000 other students might choose. That's the gamble! If we aimed too high, and others who had higher score did too, then Abby might end up at her last choice. If we aimed too low, when others did not, then we would miss out on a better school.
This is when we will have to walk by faith!
Overall, Abby did not have a 'happy' day.
As for me, it was another productive day. I finally cleared out all the things for donation. Packed up a box which was shipped to the Philippines. Packed up another box that I took over to a 'Taiwan Goodwill'. And I have another huge Costco bag for people at church! And someone gave me chili that was flavorless. I spiced it up, added more meat and it was fabulous. With all the spices and sauces that I added, it must have been really really bland before! I also worked on my upcoming talks for two different churches. I always get so excited for the opportunity to share God's word!

Another Fun Morning with Kimmy
I only have a few more Wednesdays and Wendy, Ryan and Kimmy will be leaving Taiwan.
We have a routine down now.
I go over there. Hang out with Wendy. Play with Kimmy.
After she eats, Kimmy and I take off for a nice long walk so that Wendy can have some time to be on her own.
On our long walk, I go to buy snacks at one of the vendors at the traditional market and then we go on a prayer walk to the "old" house. I usually buy an iced coffee or a drink of some sort.
Kimmy sleeps for about an hour and then we're back at the house by 2p.m.
Wendy got her visa, so they will be leaving Taiwan on June 26th for good!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be going to the States on June 17th, so next Wednesday will be my last Wednesday with Kimmy. I sure am going to miss Kimmy! I sure am going to miss Wendy and Ryan!

Only A Few More Days
It's already June and we're only days away from when the 'big test' results would be posted. There is an air of expectation and nervousness.
Abby did find out her "ironman" results and she was disappointed as she didn't get the top three spots for the girls. She thought for sure she did very well, but then she was deducted 2 seconds for 'illegal' passing while doing her swim. That didn't sit well with her.
But her dance group is really coming together. They are pretty sure that they have been selected to be a part of the graduation performances.
And speaking of graduation, Nanhu Senior High School had their graduation and Isaiah reported that most of the guys dressed in very formal wear, and all the girls had their hair done and looked like they were in a wedding.
I got busy packing up another box to ship to the Philippines. My living room is beginning to be back to normal!
The weather has turned hot, so if I want to go for a prayer run, I have to either go before 7am or after 7pm! This summer is going to be interesting! We're trying to NOT turn on the A/C unless it's absolutely necessary!

Tutoring A Third Grader
Abby went to school this morning for the "mini-ironman" event. All the students had to swim 750M and run 2kms. Ninth graders were first. Abby came out of the pool way ahead of everyone else but did not do well in the run. At least this year, she didn't walk but ran the whole way. She was back at home in an hour, feeling quite sore.
She spent most of the morning, composing yet another song. This would be her third song.
I was busy sorting through all the stuff that was in our living room. Winter clothes are going to be donated to a second hand store right in Tachih. Summer clothes will be shipped to the Philippines. I called and the box will be delivered on Tuesday. I will pack it up and put it in our guard booth for them to pick up on Wednesday. That will be so nice as then my living room will be "back to normal".
We had cleaned out all the leftovers food from our refrigerator this past weekend, so I got busy cooking. Abby and I went to Amart to pick up my new glasses. I will have to get used to them as I can't have them on for too long. They give me a headache. We also bought some groceries!
Abby finally settled down and worked on some homeschooling items by finishing her journal! She has a few more essays to write and we'll be all done.
I got ready as I have started to tutor a third grader. One hour - once a week. Today was our first session. It was quite fun as I am starting her on reading using SRA.
