Wise Words from God's Word

In preparation for my two talks on Family, the book of Proverbs is filled with WISE words...

Take Proverbs 14:26 as an example!

The Revised Standard Version says, "In the fear of the LORD one has strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge."
Here's another one: Proverbs 15: 6

"In the house of the righteous there is much treasure, but trouble befalls the income of the wicked."
Just one more: Proverbs 17: 1

"Better is a dry morsel with quiet than a house full of feasting with strife."
Once you start looking, these nuggets are everywhere just ready for anyone to mine! They stand on their own and anyone can relate to them. What's going to be difficult is that I only have 30 minutes each time... and I only have two opportunities to share... That adds up to just ONE HOUR! Maybe the Overseers will extend this series... We shall see...

I think we've started to enter the summer weather... the day time is really hot... but it does cool down in the evening... HOW NICE!

Mom went for her massage, which she loves. And what I've started to do is to pick her up via the bus so that she can enjoy the ride and then we walk with the wheelchair back home. She enjoys the exercise!

Alan had another meeting with one of the candidates that HOP is considering to hire as a youth pastor. I don't think we should be hiring him as we don't have that many youths...

The kids were busy studying accounting.

Abby had started her internship, so she was gone for four hours this afternoon. Last night on her way back from her get together with her basketball team, she got into a slight scooter accident, so we went to get the front fixed. It was her fault and truly it was a miracle. The car she rear ended didn't have much of a scratch whereas the front of her scooter is completely ruined. She will have to go back on Monday to get it fixed as the pieces will have to be ordered. It will probably be costing about 100US$. What was she doing? NOT paying attention!

I bought all the dinner items for tomorrow. We're going to have a salad 'bar'... lettuce, meat, cheese, pineapples, dressing... people will just build their own salad! YUMMY!
