Yes, it's true... We went to Asiana, asked about their policy for cancellation and their response was: Full refund...
So we came home and called Trip.com and cancelled our tickets for this summer.
We had wanted them to extend the tickets for a year and we would use them for next summer... But the extension would only be until the end of 2020... Not even to Chinese New Year of 2021!
While I was calling for the cancellation, Alan went and found that the direct flight for Chinese New Year will actually be around the same price, if not cheaper, than what we had paid for with a stopover in Korea. We are going to believe that God will work things out when it comes time for us to travel.
Looking ahead, it's difficult to plan as our kids are also at the stage in their education career that internship will be a must... If they sign for an internship program, it will most likely be in Taiwan and during the summer months. So, I think we'd be staying around Taiwan in 2021 as well... And I find it much better for Mom not to travel anymore... She actually likes her routine... She likes the elderly center...
Yes, today was our Date and we had a wonderful time... We went to lunch at a favorite restaurant of ours in Shihlin. It's still there and still the same owners. But many of the stores in Shihlin are closed... business has been terrible. Two entire buildings were FOR RENT... Several of our drink shops were no longer there... Instead, a for rent sign was hanging on the steel door... Taiwan has been hit, but perhaps not as hard as the States.
So... today's Daily Lovely Insight:
God's plans are best, even when we don't understand! Looking throughout the Bible, I see God, orchestrating things that to those who were in that situation at that time must have been completely puzzled by what God was doing... I can just imagine them saying, "God, you can't be serious, can you? You want me to do what?" Build a really large boat... March around and don't talk... Get your group smaller... Go and tell the Pharaoh... Love your enemy... I want to choose God's plans over my own limited agenda. And in the midst of whatever doesn't make sense to me, to follow the simple instructions God has laid out -- Give Thanks Always... Pray Without Ceasing... Be Anxious for Nothing!
Seek Him First!
