Th morning I went to the New Beitou Baptist Church. And as it was the 5th Sunday, I had planned for our prayer walk.
I used Eph. 6:10-19 as a springboard. We had only 7 people in the service. So, I assigned each person a verse to read. We stopped at 12 places and it was a great prayer walk. We all came back quite excited about the next prayer walk, which is set for August 30th.
In the afternoon, it was the HOP Testimony Service. We had 7 people get up to share --
Megan
Abby
Richard
James
Jenny
Lily
Nicolas
The testimonies spoke of God's goodness and blessed those who were in the congregation.

Running and Biking
I need to clarify yesterday's post in order for people to understand what I mean by a day of driving.
Usually, in a month we'd drive about 500 kilometers. We have had our car since September of 2013. And in all that time, we've driven about 10,300 kilometers. I don't use the car very often as I usually just ride my scooter. But on Friday, in one day, we drove almost 500 kilometers!
Today, on the other hand, was a running and biking day.
In the morning, I went for a 10K run. It got too hot to run more than that. I even brought water!
In the afternoon, HOP had a biking activity. So, I decided to bike from Neihu to Guangdu to meet up with everyone. There were 7 of us who showed up. We then biked to Bali which was across the way. There were lots of people on the bike trail even though it was one of the hottest day in May.
I had to leave early as I had told Alan that I'd be back by around 6:00.
I rode quite fast and was at the River Park by around 6:15. A short race had just started. So, I had to get off to push my bike in order to avoid the runners.
I went to Amart to get a new pair of glasses and to buy a couple of lunch boxes.
When I got home, I was surprised by all the stuff Rachel had dropped off. A huge bag of clothes and lots of canned goods!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, I think I have enough for another box of clothes donation for the Philippines.
We had dinner at home and Robert and Ariel came over to hang out. They brought over ice cream. I was going to buy ice cream at Amart, but it would have melted as I was on my bike! So, that was a great surprise!
After doing a load of laundry and sorting through everything, it sure felt good to go to bed!!!!!!

A Day of Driving!
What an interesting day of driving!
Alan and I drove up towards Danhsui to have lunch as we needed to pick Abby up early from her beach cleanup field trip.
So, after having lunch, we headed to SanTzi, specifically to ChienSuiWan Park. That's where Abby and all 9th graders were to be for the afternoon. It was a hot afternoon. We got there at 1:20 and they didn't show up until almost 2p.m.
We then were to leave at 2:30, in order to drive all the way back to Neihu to pick up Isaiah.
But Abby was enjoying the time with her classmates, so we finally left at 2:50. The traffic was pretty bad, so we didn't get to Nanhu Senior High School until 4:10. I called at 4p.m. and the coach said, "I didn't say I'd let him go!" I was shocked. I recapped our conversation and then he started to remember that he did say okay. So, Isaiah came down at 4:20 and we took off to Taichung.
Yes, TAICHUNG -- as we were to attend the graduation ceremony of Rex and Peilun's second daughter, Pauline. We went last year to Diean's graduation ceremony.
The traffic was bad at certain parts, but we were praying. The ceremony was set to start at 7p.m. and we arrived at 6:45. Isaiah had to take a shower and we changed our clothes. We got in just before the graduates were lined up to walk in.
And after the ceremony, we hung out with them, and Rex went and bought pizza. We finally dragged ourselves away at 11:20 and got back by 1:20a.m.

It Worked!
At 2:00, I called and they were still working on her hair.
At 3:30, Abby called. She was finished -- FINALLY!
I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
Before AfterWith her hairstylist!
I love the results, and so does Abby!

A Very Filled Day
I didn't think today would be so packed with one activity to another, but it was.
I went over to Wendy's and had another great morning/afternoon with her and Kimmy. Wendy treated me to papaya milk that was absolutely delicious. I also had an iced coffee while I took Kimmy for a walk, pushing the stroller. I walked and walked and walked. God was so good as He gave us the nicest weather.
After arriving home, I saw the email from Vanessa. Her in laws had cancelled their afternoon trip to the National Palace Museum so that I can come over to hang out with them. Oh no... I didn't get the email before going to Wendy's. So, off I went. I had a wonderful time talking with them. They are planning a 7 week trip to South Africa, where they are from. Just listening to them talk about where they will be going and what they will be doing made me want to get on a plane.
I had to leave by 5:10 to go over to the HOP Office to set the phone, which did not set. I kept getting this weird message that the phone bill had not been paid.
I left and went over to pick up Abby and I got there before she got out. Thank you Jesus!
I got home and ate dinner. This was my first meal of the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And soon it was almost 7p.m. and there was a meeting at Abby's school about the upcoming high school selection. The person they invited rambled on and on and on about non-essentials and kept referring to this chart that he had put together. He finally showed the ppt slide five minutes before 9p.m. I whispered to the teacher next to me, "Will you get this ppt slide?" She replied, "Yes, and I'll send it with Abby." So, I got up and left. I really have a hard time with meetings like this in which I walk out feeling it was a total waste of my precious time.
But overall, I am so thankful as I felt the presence of the Lord, taking care of me from one activity to another and going from one place to another. I will sleep so well tonight!

Did Not Take!
I thought I'd be posting some pictures of Abby with her new hairstyle. BUT, after sitting there for more than 5 hours, her hair was as straight as can be. REALLY!!!!!!!
I dropped her off at 2:45 and Alan picked her up at 7:45. She will have to go again on Thursday at 10:30 in the morning! I was there for about 30 minutes just to supervise them as they cut her hair. When they started to wash her hair, I left. I called at 5:45 and they said it would take another hour or so. Abby explained that when they finally took off the curlers, her hair was still straight!
Abby has been wanting to change her hairstyle, but she didn't want to cut her hair short. She wants to be able to put her hair up in a pony tail or braid her hair. So, I bought this coupon at a very established and well known hair salon as her graduation gift. I don't think they will charge us anything to go back again as the perm really did not take.
Abby is happy to go back again as she really enjoyed having her hair washed. That's true. It is so relaxing!
Hopefully, when I post on Thursday, I will have some pictures of Abby with her new hairstyle!
