Trying to Take A Sabbath!

I am trying to take time to rest, especially on Sunday!

Yes, another load of laundry!

Alan had a zoom meeting at 10:30 and I went to Carrefour to buy yogurt. That helps with Mom's digestion!

Then I cut Alan's hair as he is heading to his tournament on Thursday and Abby will be going with him.

We went to church as we were to have a board meeting and I was the translator for the speaker.

Mom was again antsy and wanting to go to the bathroom! Abby helped until I finished translating!

After church, we had a very effective board meeting and finished by 7pm. Mom ate her dinner at church! That helped to keep her still!

We had Family Time at 10am and Alan was up at 2am to watch the football game!

Abby and I went for a walk after she finished her tutoring!

Daily Lovely Insight:

I will be sharing before the Prayer Walk on 11/21 and then I get to share two more times in December: 12/5 and 12/12! The topic will be Enlarging Your Territory and I'm going to look at different aspects of territory and how we can 'enlarge' it!

Territory can be seen as land, or perspective, or faith! God wants us to have a stake in the area where we live. God wants us to grow our views of life. God wants us to be transformed in our heart, our attitude. I'm quite excited.

A Rush Around Saturday!

I loan my bike to an Indonesian graduate student. She wanted to borrow a bike for the rest of her stay in Taipei.

I did get a run in... Warm, but very enjoyable.

And yes, another load of laundry and Mom was being 'weird'. She was up very early.

We went to watch a movie, Dune. It was long, so I rushed home to get Mom dinner!

Alan and Abby went to Linkou as we had another get together this evening. But I couldn't go... It was a housewarming party for a member of our church.

Flea Market!

After Mom went off and laundry was in the washer, I took off for a run and then met up with Alan and Abby at the tennis court. I can't play worth beans! I need to get better.

We came home and showered and headed out.

Lunch at a new place and then we walked to the "Flea Market" at the old bottle cap factory in Nangang. It was so much fun! Old record players and tape players, knickknacks, typewriters, cameras, toys, desk lamps, furniture... and the stuff was EXPENSIVE! I loved the jewelry and trench coats. All those items were from the UK. Exquisite. Someone must have gone to the UK and went through their second hand stores. Old watches were expensive too... Nothing was affordable. I saw lots of old fountain pens. It was a walk down memory lane for Alan and I.

We came back by 4pm. I needed to get Mom's meal and make her bed.

We also had dinner plans with friends! Pizza party!

I wish Isaiah was with us... He would have enjoyed everything!

How Did I Spend My "Free Day"?

Yes, I set aside this day to be a free day...

The only appointment I had was to get a acupressure massage with Abby at 11am.

So, after the laundry was in the wash and the dryer, I rushed out for a quick run. The massage was delightful.

I then went and got the scooter tuned up, paid bills, bought fruit and headed home.

I fixed myself a delicious lunch and watched Rose and Maloney, a British TV series. When putting away the food, I noticed the fridge was in need of cleaning. MY VERY BIG MISTAKE!

Once you start down that lane, there is no turning back! By 4:45, I was like -- OH NO, I NEED TO FINISH BEFORE MOM GETS BACK!

Pulling out all the drawers, cleaning all the pieces, sorting through the food... WOW... massive task.

I finished seconds before Mom came home... literally, seconds... I fixed Mom's dinner, which she enjoyed immensely and she got to talk to James before she headed off to bed.

I then did editing and finished working on my emails.

Alan and Abby were at basketball practice. Next Thursday, Alan will have a tournament in Taichung and Abby will go with him. Alan is looking forward to it as this might be a good father-daughter trip before she heads out next year for DTS.

I walked down to the convenience store after Mom was asleep to pay her Day Care Center bill. The weather was very nice!

Smaller Group Today!

I was feeling so tired... I wanted to sleep... but I had to push myself and went out for a run... That helped to boost my energy level!

Yes, I had a load of laundry to do. I don't write about that as that's pretty much a daily thing!

Once Mom left, I finished cleaning up the house and wanted to lay down. It was already 10:15. Instead, I put on my running clothes and went out. I came back much refreshed.

Bible study at 1:10. We only had five people, which was great. We were able to get deeper into the discussion!

After the study, I picked up books and the donations and dropped them off on the way to Costco. Alan and Abby met up with me. We had two scooters and got everything home!

As soon as I got back, I was on the computer, editing! The phone rang and Mom was home. Thankfully, Abby and Alan were home. They got Mom settled to eat dinner while I finished the editing.

We were to have counseling tonight, but I'm glad they postponed as I had so much to finish up!

Daily Lovely Insight:

Today we studied on TRANSFORMATION! And I really had to emphasize that you can be partially transformed. A caterpillar can't be partly a butterfly. We looked at the conversion of Saul and it was a great discussion. One point was that many of the students didn't realize that scales fell off of Saul's eyes when Ananias prayed for him. And we thought maybe Ananias was the one who baptized Saul. Such interesting details...

What A Productive Day!

I had a very long to-do list... but the LORD helped me through.

I finished the homework for my evening Bible study and tomorrow's Bible study. In the process, I found the missing receipt. I baked for tomorrow's Bible study. I edited for my tutoring! I had time for a run. I did a load of laundry and cleaned Mom's room. I cooked dinner! Oh... I even had a power nap! So necessary!

I tutored from 4-5 and when I finished, the phone rang!

I vacuumed the house and put up a picture.

Alan had class all day.

Abby didn't. She had tutoring at 5pm. I encourage her to go and exercise!

The weather is cooler... I run faster! And sad to say, I had order four pairs of Brooks running shoes, only to find out that only one pair is still available! These 150US$ shoes were on sale for 40US$! So, it was like getting four pairs for the price of one pair.

Quite A Blessed Day!

The day went by so quickly!

I sorted through all the boxes we picked up and dropped it off and ordered the boxes. What a ministry!

Then I found the replacement light fixture and installed it in our kitchen!

We had leftover soup, so I made myself a delicious lunch and rested before going for a run!

When I got back, I saw that I had editing to do!

Elaine came over. It's always nice to catch up with her.

Abby came home after she went and watched a movie. As a senior, she doesn't have that many classes. She also went for a quick workout!

Mom was home. Elaine left. And after Mom went to bed, I rushed off to tutor!

There was more to get done when I got home!
