Another Beautiful Day!

Tutoring was cancelled but I had a lunch date.

The morning went by all too quickly as I went and bought coffee packets and mailed them. I'm going to do that regularly since Alan will not be going back during Chinese New Year. In fact, a friend who works at the airport said that travel restrictions will continue through February of 2021. They want to relax it a bit, but overseas travel will still be very limited!

I came back and Alan and I read our devotional book as we hadn't done it. Then we headed out to pick up the packet from Forrest! We dropped off a couple of sandwiches and got the stuff that Annie sent. I will go and get the Household Report tomorrow.

Alan and I were going to look at a furniture store that is having a close-out sale. But we ran out of time as we had to get back for Mom!

We watched TV this evening... It was a very rare occasion... no counseling... no tutoring... no complex meeting!

A Perfect Fall Day!

The weather was perfect... slight breezes, slightly overcast, no rain, mild temperature... Wow!

I had a list of things to get done... yes, another load of laundry. With this past holiday, I fell behind. Plus, Abby had her teammates over, so she used four table cloths.

My evening Bible study cancelled but I had tutoring at 2:30. The boy was much better behaved! Please pray! Abby forgot her backpack with her wallet at home, so on the way to tutoring, I dropped it off!

I did go for a run... with such great weather, I would have enjoyed being out a little longer, but I couldn't. Too many things to get done. I have to finish up my grades and turn it in tomorrow! I have to continue to prep for my talk. And there is still the dissertation to finish up with!

Daily Lovely Insight:

Psalm 78 is a beautiful psalm. I'd encourage you to read it!

Rainy Monday!

God blessed me with a restful rainy Monday.

After Mom went off, our neighbor dropped by to chat... She stayed until 11:30. I then changed Mom's bedding and did a load of laundry, put 'dinner' in the rice cooker and started my prep for my evening class. Abby sent a message and asked if she could have the evening BBQ at our house... since it was sprinkling. So, I lined the board to ask. They approved... They were going to go over to another teammate's house, but not with the rain!

After that was done, I started baking. Tonight was my last class with my NSB students, so I wanted to bake them something special. Banana, strawberry, raisin, cranberry bread with cream cheese topping! I made two -- one for NSB and one for Abby's teammates and their BBQ.

I will be speaking on 10/18, so I inputted my notes thus far. It's a work in progress... At around 2:20, I went for a run... it was so nice to be out in the rain. I ran 10km! and jumped rope for 5 minutes! I need to build up to 30 minutes of jumping rope. I didn't know how difficult that is... to keep going!

Mom was back... and of course, enjoyed her dinner.

Alan was home and I took off... Isaiah had tutoring...

Daily Lovely Insight:

As I'm preparing for the 10/18 talk, I am learning a lot. Two blind men shouts, "Son of David, have mercy on us!" In Matthew's genealogy from 1:1, he used this term, Son of David to describe Jesus. It was a term that refers to Jesus as the coming Messiah! These two blind men weren't that blind spiritually. They somehow knew who Jesus was. Perhaps they had heard all that Jesus had done as Matthew 8-9 captured 10 miracles, including the healing of the two blind men. They followed Jesus, trusting, believing, that Jesus is able. And they were healed. And it wasn't just the blindness that left, I believe Jesus healed them, through and through!

Sunday Worship!

Mom was hyper... so for sure we will not do the special therapy...

She settled down to watch Little House after lunch... And then we went to church!

It was a worship service and a beautiful time of worship.

Alan led the Lord's Supper and the Lord inspired him to get everyone on their knees!

Daily Lovely Insight:
John 8:12... The Lord gave me that verse in the morning, which I read during the worship service. The theme that the LORD put upon my heart is the truth that God is light and He has transferred us from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light! I also read the same idea in Colossians 1:9-14.

A New Therapy for Mom!

It was another busy day...

First, Alan and the kids were glued to the computer screen to watch the Padres game. They won and will go against the Dodgers... I can't watch as I won't be able to cheer...

Mom was up early...

She watched Little House after lunch and then we took off to her massage. After the massage, I booked for a special therapy session. It's a machine that helps to pump more oxygen to your brain. It might help with her memory... Well... it didn't help with her memory, but it did make her more hyper. So, I will not do that again. With just one session, she didn't want to go to bed. She wanted to talk and talk and talk... By 10pm, we forced her to go to bed! We did not have our family time this evening!

Daily Lovely Insight:

I had an interesting discussion with a young man who is working through things.

Truth, Faith, Feelings... How are they all related? Yet, if we base our lives on feelings, we won't get anything done. People don't want to base their lives on truth either... And as for faith, people can put faith in a number of things, but not in God.

I know that I cannot live my life based on FEELINGS...

As for faith... I think if you put your faith in God, you are moving in the best direction...

Paragliding... Mom LOVED It!

We have had quite an exciting day...

Mom talked to Eddie and was much more alert...

We took off at 12:30 and headed out to Wanli. On top of a cliff over looking the beach, we took Mom paragliding. Eight of us did it... Mom was first! And she loved it. She wanted to do it again, and again, and again! It was about 55US$ per person!

We left and went to the beach. There on the beach was a group of 'gang members' having a BBQ and playing mahjong! Mom wanted to have their food... they would have said, "Sure..." It was quite fun to see these wonderful individuals with their body tattoo, and their girlfriends and wives and kids! Alan went into the water. I was going to go for a run, but Mom got bored!

We decided to go to Costco for dinner as I also had to get a bit of grocery shopping done. Mom had pizza and desserts and ate and ate and ate!

We were home by 8pm and I got busy with putting away the food and getting Mom to bed!

Abby and I went down to World Gym at 10pm and after she signed up, I went for a run!

Isaiah was with Vikki all day. We have more plans for tomorrow... What a holiday!

Daily Lovely Insight:

At the paragliding site, everyone was amazed that Mom wanted to do it. Two young ladies said, "I hope I can be like her when I'm 89!" All the 'coaches' and helpers were super helpful. They helped with the takeoff and the landing. I'm glad I got them lots of business. There were 8 of us... and there was a steady stream of people. Flying up above and looking around, it was not scary at all. It was not like a thrill ride at the amusement park. It was just nice to be up above it all. So, it reminded me of the verse, Psalm 61:2.

A Day Out at the Wangu Waterfall... and PingShi... Eating, Eating, Eating...

What a day...

Mom got to talk to Eddie... after she ate lunch!

Alan, Isaiah, and Abby all came home and we took off again. We went to Wangu Waterfall... the one Alan had a chance to swim in. But this time, when we arrived, they had signs that said NO SWIMMING! And they even had a guy to tell people to get out!

I went for a quick run as it's beautiful in this area.

We then headed to PingShi! We ate BBQ sausages and shaved ice. That was just a snack! We then went to a dumpling place and Mom would not stop eating! The food was so good!

Mom went to bed fairly quickly...

We watched some TV and planned for paragliding... That's the plan for tomorrow!

Daily Lovely Insight:

What a promise! Thank you, God!
