We went towards the northern tip of Taiwan to an area called RuiFang! This area is known for the mines -- coals and gold!
One area now is called Cat Village as many abandoned cats gathered there. The local residents took these cats and made the cats part of the uniqueness of their area -- coffee shops, schools, etc. all have cat memorabilia... walls are painted with cute pictures of cats... At the old train stations, they had statues of cats as the conductors...
There were also several museums and hiking trails. Yes, we took mom every where...
In the evening, we drove to Keelung Night Market. It was so crowded that it was not a lot of fun! We did enjoy eating 'stall food', which means going from one food stall to another, buying and eating as we walked. Needless to say... Mom had a great time!
We were home by 8pm and Mom was in bed by 9pm! Now... do you think she will sleep in tomorrow?
