September 12

This morning I got up at 5:15AM, after getting back and sleeping at 1:30AM.  I had time with Jesus and went to the hospital to relieve her husband. He stayed overnight. They have three kids, so he had to get back home to see how the kids were doing. He had a friend stay over at their house.

I was originally going to man the church flea market, but I had to tell them, I can't come!

Sure enough, I stayed there until 12:30 and rushed home!

Mom had finished her shower and was having lunch!

I got on line and ordered pizza for our dinner as we had a get together with friends.

I had already made an appointment for Mom to have her massage and Isaiah joined as he wanted to relax. It was perfect. After dropping them off, I came home to rest!

Abby had basketball games at school. She got home and took a shower and we were out the door at 4pm. We picked up Isaiah and Mom, went and picked up pizzas and headed out to bowling! FUN!

Tonight we also had our usual Family Time! It's hard to believe that the summer is over!

An Unusual Friday!

Alan and I were originally planning to have time for our date... but a friend needed someone to go with her for her doctor's appointment. So, I met up with her and we left in a taxi at 9:30...

We got there and she had her blood work done... the infection was still high, even after all the antibiotics. So, the doctor suggested surgery. They looked and there was an operation room available. The next thing we knew, I was helping her to check in to her hospital room. She was going for surgery. The initial time was 4:30. But an emergency surgery took the operation room. She didn't go in for her surgery until 9:30PM. She came out at almost 12midnight! And I got home at 1:10AM!

Alan was very nice as he took care of Mom.

Gaining Strength

I feel as if I'm getting better... but that shoulder blade spot is still extremely painful. Alan looked and there is nothing there...

After Mom left, I started with cooking as we have guests tomorrow. So, I started with making rice, which I spiced up after it was cooked into creamy rice. I also did chicken and veggies and fish sticks. I also made a guacamole salad!

I had to read the dissertation and prep for tutoring! I had back to back to back tutoring!

I started at 2pm and with Alan home, I went all the way until 7pm!

This morning I ran for 1:02 and covered 9 kilometers! I didn't stop and I even covered a hill... the weather was great... slightly overcast!

Isaiah had practice and same with Abby!

Exodus 35:35 | Feel The Words

To go along with what I wrote yesterday, in the Old Testament, when building the temple, God filled hearts of people with wisdom to work all manner of work! Isn't that amazing? I need to ask God for more wisdom!

The Down Pour Came... This Evening...

Alan and I decided to go to the Miniature Museum this morning. I bought two tickets for less than 10US$. It was very interesting... I wish I had a house filled with some of those antique furniture. In fact, I saw an antique dining room table out on the street the other day... I was scootering by. I so wanted to try to lug it on my 100cc scooter. No, I did not!

After lunch, we found a delicious Thai restaurant. For 3US$ we had the most delicious lunch with dessert and Thai milk tea... FREE REFILLS! We stopped at Carrefour to get yogurt and yogurt drinks!  We headed home and read our devotional books. I rested for 30 minutes before tutoring at 3pm.

Please remember to pray for Rhine. She is finishing up the revisions for her Ph.D. dissertation. Sometimes she feels discouraged and wants to give up! I am encouraging her. She's so close! It's like being at the 40th kilometer marker with a little more than 2 kilometers to go before the finish line when you're running a marathon. You feel like giving up as you feel as you can't take another step. But... to give up? No Way! So, I think we need just two more sessions and we are there!

This evening, the rain came... After it stopped I went for a short walk before our complex meeting at 8:30! I wanted to go for a run, but I didn't have enough time!

I'm preparing for my message at the end of the month. This month is Dare to Encourage and I've been thinking a lot about how we need wisdom when we are trying to be encouraging. What we say matters a lot... and sometimes, especially in this culture, what we think is encouraging is totally NOT! So, God invites us to ask Him for wisdom. First, we have to be humble enough to come and admit that we need wisdom. Then, we need to be bold enough to ask. We also need to believe and trust that God is generous in giving us His gift of wisdom. So, Proverbs 9:10 says,
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.(Pro. 9:10 ESV) I… | Fear of the lord, Good good father, Lord of

It Got So Hot!

I thought the weather was getting cooler, but not today!

I did the longest run since I had shingles... I actually ran for 48 minutes... but I only covered 7 kilometers!

I had to tutor... and then Bible study this evening! It was great to see all the gals...

Daily Lovely Insight:

Put Away the Evil of Our Doings - Isaiah 1:16-17 - Today's Bible Verse
When we receive Jesus, He renews and creates in us a new heart... He makes us clean. And once that happens, we need to put away the evil of our doings from before His eyes. We need to cease to do evil. We need to learn to do well. What are those things that He would want us to do? To help the weak. To relieve the oppressed. To plead for those who can't plead for themselves. I think our relationship with Jesus should compel us to love and help others... and more importantly, we should be telling others about how Jesus has renewed us through His sacrifice on the cross.

What A Fruitful Day!

I started the day, early... as usual. I did a load of laundry as Abby needs some of her basketball socks! And then I took the morning to organize my tutoring and teaching 'basket'. It was overflowing with 'stuff'.

I went for a run before the sun got too hot... and then had lunch.

I had to get going as I had a book to pick up at the library, Abby wanted some contacts, and then I wanted to visit a friend at the hospital! I went and we had a beautiful time, encouraging each other! I had just enough time to ride over to my tutoring... and I even got there 10 minutes early. We went until 6:30 and I had to go to my tap dancing class. I got there 3 minutes late!

It was another fun class!

Restful Day

I got up early... but took the day to rest...

Mom was up early but went back to sleep. Abby and I were both quite surprised. I think she was quite tired out by the BBQ last night. She watched Little House before we left for church.

Abby drove to church... Yes, Alan is making the kids drive when he is around!

Daily Lovely Insight:

ephesians 4 1-3 - Godly Ladies
This was the main text from today's message. Paul, even while in prison, beseech, encouraged, followers of Jesus to walk worthy of our calling. Pastor Yang encouraged us to be a church that experiences God's daily 'surprises' and live with an exclamation mark, not a question mark! Exclamation mark is a life where the Holy Spirit rules. Question mark is a life where Self rules!
