Down & Out

I woke up and just didn't feel right...

After time with God, I went back to sleep... my stomach was feeling bloated...

Mom was up... So, what else is new?

And she wanted her breakfast...

So, I was up to get her breakfast ready. I fixed myself a cup of coffee and couldn't even drink that.

I went and laid down again!

Now, I was feeling body aches and pounding head.

Oh no...

Mom was wanting to go, go, go... and all I wanted to do was sleep, sleep, sleep...

Alan fixed my mom her lunch... and took my mom to church.

I was down & out... I missed church... and when they came back, I was still in bed.

I'm posting this... and hopefully going back to bed...

I need my energy back as Monday is tomorrow... and I'll have to be fully recovered!

I'm trusting God to heal.

From Early Morning to Late At Night

As I expected, today was an activity filled day...

Abby had another college interview... (And she will have her last one tomorrow morning at Soochow University, Department of Social Work!)

And when she got home, I drove the car to drop off the donation.

And when I got home, Alan and Isaiah took off in the car to Danhsui as they had a weekend basketball tournament. (They won their games and will continue to play tomorrow...)

Abby, Mom and I had lunch at home... Cleaned up the house a bit (I dusted and did a load of clothes!)... and we walked to the bus stop and headed to the acupressurist... using the public transport! While Abby and Mom were getting their massage, I got a bike and rode around. It was just so nice to BE BY MYSELF! The hour went way too fast.

We had dinner at a local dumpling place... and yes, Mom loves eating... and she has a very good appetite! After dinner, we walked around and took the bus back... Before heading up the hill, we stopped at a supermarket and bought eggs and milk... The walk back home was very nice.

Mom took a shower... and finally went to bed at 8:30... She still wanted to go, go, go...

Alan and Isaiah were still out at the basketball tournament... and honestly, I think my mom would have wanted to join them! That's how much energy she has...

Having Friends Over

We have known Rita for 31 years... We picked her English name... We picked her husband's English name as well as the English name for each of their kids... We have been sharing Jesus with them... but they have not yet come to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior...

I talk to Rita on a regular basis... and they came over today.

They always bless us with clothes and food.

Today as we sat around and chatted... Rita said, "Prayer really works... The last time we talked and you told me to pray about finding the Rolex... God helped me to find it!"

As we continued to talk, Rita told us about her bone spurs-- on both of the heels of her feet! She is very bothered by them. I told her I will pray... and I invited her to pray.

If you're reading this, would you please remember to pray for Rita? God is working in her heart... Miracles do not save people... Jesus saves... But perhaps through this miracle, she will confess Jesus as her Lord and Savior! I will keep you posted.

Other than that... We had our family time... Abby has her interview tomorrow...and Alan can drive her as it's at 8:30am! Then Alan and Isaiah will be heading to Danhsui for the basketball tournament!

It looks like another busy weekend!

The Sofa Has Arrived!

We waited almost two months for the sofa bed...

We ordered it back on 2/23 when my mom said she was willing to come to Taiwan. They were out of stock and we waited for it to be shipped to Taiwan.

Anyhow, they had promised to come by 9:20... and they weren't here until 9:40! They needed 30 minutes but we were to head out by 10am for my mom's knees strengthening class.

I was helping... and they finished by 10:03!

Mom loves her knees strengthening class...

And what did I do?

I got a full body massage...

What a great morning!

And the lady was super nice... no sales pitch at all... but I went home and bought another coupon for my mom to try. And if she likes it, I will have to splurge and buy 10 or more coupons. It was really a fantastic experience!

Lots of Phone Calls Made

I decided to use this day to make some calls... I've been putting off doing this as I have had to focus on making sure my mom stay on task and busy...

I had to call to order the headstone and arrange the shipping...

I had to call to make sure the bathroom racks are the right size...

I had to call to check on the sofa delivery and arrange to give our old sofa away...

I had to call two people who have been trying to get together with me...

I had to call to find a suitable hotel for my dear friends' visit in June...

Alan was home, so we did take apart our old sofa and moved it...

Mom was a bit bored as she wanted to go and walk more... but I had too much to do...

So... yes, she got in 'trouble' with the bad habit... WAHHHHHH... The milestone was not long lasting... Please continue to pray!

A Month Since...

Yes, it's been a month since I've been back to Taiwan... and a month since my mom came to live with us.

As I sit here to write this blog, physically, I'm still quite exhausted! I have not had a day to really sleep in... And what I miss the most... yes, the time to run... but it's the time of solitude.

Overall, the month has gone by fast... and yet slow. It's a strange feeling... As I look back, I can't believe it's been a month... and yet, there are moments when I think... What? It's only been a month?!?!?!

The schedule is still not set... I'd like for her to have two more praise dance classes... and something to do on some of the Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. I haven't yet found suitable activities...

My mom goes to bed fairly early... but after she's in bed, I'm super busy with housework, message prep, contacting people... we even set up counseling time and family time after she's in bed. And I also use the evenings to catch up on emails... So, those three hours are very precious and they go by way too fast...

Ok... I could write more... but I'll leave that for another day...

I need to go to bed... it's going to be another early morning...

A Big Milestone!

I know you all have been praying... well... we've had a major milestone!

Are you ready for this???

As you might have read my blog yesterday, I recorded my mom's confession!

Today we went to the morning praise dance... walked around... and came back for lunch!

After lunch, I was washing the dishes when my mom comes over and says, "I feel the need to go to the bathroom and I want to stay in Taiwan. So, I do not want to "dig poop". Please help me!"

Really!

So, I didn't have to put on her gloves to remind her. She sat and had her hands on her lap. When she was finished, I did the cleaning!

I was so happy. And she was so happy!

I did not have to wash her clothes or towels or bleach the bathroom!

It was quite a miracle!

I just had to share this with all of you...

I am trusting God that this is a real turning point!
