Too Tired to Do Much!

I had to tutor this morning... and I was going to go to the Bible study this evening... But I decided to stay home... and REST!

I did go and do a walk on the treadmill...

And I did do a load of laundry.

Alan went to Costco, which is always dangerous... He doesn't go with a list... We needed milk and veggies... And he came home with a few extras...

Mom was home...

Isaiah had his internship and then went out with Vikki.

Abby practiced basketball and then went out with friends for dinner before tutoring tonight!

Daily Lovely Insight:
I've been forced to rest...

This Sunday, I will be translating for the speaker. I read his talk notes... and it was exactly where I was... He talked about Elijah being forced to rest. I Kings 19: 5-8
Self-Care and Soul-Care - ppt download
Three times he ate and rested... And he was strengthened to travel for 40 days and 40 nights... Until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God! This greatly encouraged me.

God has used my herniated disc and shingles to put a 'forced rest' upon my life. He is always merciful and gracious... telling me to trust Him, to let go, to see Him in the mundane. Surrender! Be thankful in everything!

How awesome is it to know that when we are in that place, just too tired, our compassionate God wants us to fully rest?! That he sees us with so much compassion and wants to give us rest.                                                                                             Belle Faith Word Press Blog

Taking the Time to REST!

I woke up this morning and prepared the meal for our Bible study group! Ariel's nephew also made homemade pizzas!

The study was about the Harsh Tongue. We had a marvelous discussion!

I had to rush home and switch gears as I had tutoring at 1:30.

It was a total downpour. I had to use three raincoats!

I was a little late and we didn't finish our lesson as she had to go to her doctor's appointment. We only finished two books. I was hoping to finish three! And her school will start back on Thursday! She told me some of her classmates finished five books on the Honors Reading List this summer!

I rode home and tried to rest, but there was meal prep for Mom!

I was thinking about going out for a walk, but after Mom went to bed, I crashed on the sofa and was fast asleep! I don't think anything could have woken me up! I tried getting up twice, but went right back to sleep!

Alan was at his overseers meeting.

Isaiah and Abby were tutoring via an on line app!

I finally got up and took a shower!

Great Trip... Great Wedding...

We had a fantastic time...

We would not have been able to do this trip with my Mom around... We rode the scooters and walked and swam and it was hot!

Alan and Abby had a full day before we arrived!

Saturday was fully packed... but the highlight was the deserted beach that had warm and clean water... and it even had showers...

I ran and went in the water... but not for a swim as I didn't want my hair wet!  And we only had an hour there!

I have over 250 pictures... but they are on the cell phone...

On Sunday morning, I watched Sarah's wedding... And when they started to sing the worship song, I started to cry... It was a beautiful wedding...

We were at the airport by 10:30 so that we can return the scooters. The flight was in a twin propeller engine plane... and we were back by 12:50!

We rushed home... Jamie was fine with Mom...

We dropped everything off and got everyone in the car to head to church!

That evening after church, we had our Family Time and then Abby and I went to the store for Alan! He needed notebooks and pens for his special class!

I was so tired...

Then today, we were all up early... I did go for a run in the afternoon... I only made 9K in an hour!

I had to tutor this afternoon and NSB in the evening!

I have to be careful as I don't want to compromise my immune system! I was thinking of donating blood next week... maybe not! I think I was stressed about the care of my mom during our trip to Kinmen... I will rest more this week!

Daily Lovey Insight:

Ezra - A Prepared Heart
Years ago, Suz, Cor and I had made this one of our verses. We put our name in place of Ezra... For Lovely/Suz/Cor had prepared her heart to seek the Law of the LORD, and to do it and to teach in ... statues and judgments!

Thinking about that now, I think this has become a reality. Suz teaches God's statues and judgments in the States. Cor teaches others in Brazil and I'm here in Taiwan!

How amazing!

Heading Out to Kinmen!

This will be one of our first family vacation!

Mom will be at home with a friend's daughter. She looks like Abby... and we're paying her to stay with Mom. I have all the meals prepared and Mom's clothes set out... And the Little House DVD is set!

Alan and Abby left early this morning with five other church families! Isaiah and I will leave this afternoon...

I will not be blogging until Sunday... but I will be watching the online streaming of Suz's daughter's wedding... Sarah is marrying Matthew on Saturday, August 8th...

Isaiah Passed!

We now have another driver in the family... by the end of August, Abby should also pass!

Isaiah passed with flying colors. After our return from Kinmen, Alan will take him on the road for a few more practices and I think he is good to go...

It was a tremendously hot day... so I went for a run in the gym... Going for an hour on a treadmill is so boring... but at least I was indoors with AC!

Oh... this morning I had to tutor... And I started late because Abby was also tutoring! I think Abby enjoyed her new job!

When I finished, Alan and I went and got our wifi upgraded! He had to go as our phone account is in his name!

We also paid our cell phone bill and picked up my Sketchers sandals that are so beautifully fixed! I also withdrew money for our trip this weekend! And the kids' scholarship money came in... YIPPY!

My afternoon tutoring changed to tomorrow morning! Isaiah and I are leaving on the last flight as he has his internship and I have to get everything ready for Mom! Her clothes, her meals, etc.

So... with no tutoring, I went to the gym!

I rushed home and got Mom's dinner ready! Before she went to bed, I had to clean her ears! Oh... no wonder she couldn't hear!

Alan had basketball.

Abby went for a massage and then had her nails done!

Isaiah had tutoring this evening!

When Alan came home, we watched TV!
