Alan and I took time to read the two devotional books and pray together before we headed out as we had a list of things to buy! Abby's birthday gifts -- workout pants... and other gift items... Fruit for the day trip tomorrow with our church friends... Veggies for Sunday turkey soup since I have bones from three turkeys! We ventured out towards the Costco area. I sent Alan into Costco to see what that was like. We just needed vitamin C. He couldn't find egg nog, still... and he said, "It's the usual madness!" We didn't drive over to this area because of 'black Friday' sales.
At RT Mart and Carrefour, things were a lot calmer and organized. We had lunch and bought all the food items and some more! We decided to buy pizza at RT Mart so that we didn't have to cook! Our fridge space is very limited at this point because of the turkey bones! We came back, unpacked... and soon, Mom was home.
My cousin, Mitzi, was up in Taipei from Tainan and visited Mom. She wanted to take us out to lunch, but Alan and I had planned our afternoon already! With Abby's birthday tomorrow, we would not have any other time to shop for her! She and her husband, Tom, had a very nice visit with Mom and bought bread from the Hyatt for us to enjoy!
This evening when the kids got home, we had family time. We had three desserts -- leftover pumpkin pie, Mexican flan and 'round-round' custard pies! Needless to say, it was a fun family time!
Daily Lovely Insight:
Titus 2: 21-22
What a perfect verse to commit to memory! The grace of God has appeared to all men through the coming of Jesus. And this salvation is for all men! The faith we have in Christ should be seen in our actions, lives that are able to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives... in this present age! Like Paul at the time he wrote this letter, like Noah at the time he built the ark, so we too... in this evil and perverse time... Through the presence of Jesus, we can choose to live in a way that testify to the truth that our God is alive! I told Alan, "We should consider this for our next year Family Focus Passage!"
Seek Him First!
