I Want More Days Like Today!

It's already the end of April...

I set aside today for message prep and that meant a lot of reading...

It was absolutely enjoyable!

I read different sermons on Fruit of the Spirit, the book of Galatians, and the book of Daniel...

I also read two books that I've had on loan to me from a friend... Finished one and half way through another...

I went for a short run as I wanted to get back to reading...

The basketball shoes we ordered for Abby arrived... She got home and tried them on... a perfect fit!

Mom was at her program. Please keep praying for her as she likes to wander instead of cooperating and participating in their set activities!

Tomorrow is Taiwan Labor Day... so I looked for and bought different coupons for different restaurants around the area. Hopefully, the kids will have some free time to go out together. Mom will be going to her program, so it will be nice to have a Family Time, just the four of us!

Never Enough Time!

I set the day aside to get some much needed projects done...

For example, filing my talks from 2018... Trying to go though my computer files and organize them into the correct folders (That will need a lot more time), working on my messages as I wanted to read and do some research...

Well... needless to say... time was not enough!

I got things started but I did not complete any of the above tasks.

I did get the floor mopped and the laundry done...

Alan and I are counseling a couple on Monday and Wednesday nights.

Isaiah did not have any tennis practice since they just finished a tournament...

Abby still had her fellowship to attend to...

We watched another episode of NCIS as we are only on Season 14!

A Blessed Sunday!

James headed off to Hong Kong, so he didn't come to church this afternoon!

We had a wonderful service. The topic was on Daniel, A Life of Worship!

Mom enjoyed the service and the food... she always gets to eat different snacks at church as our HOP Family always brings an assortment of snacks...

In the morning before church I completed lots of housework as I wanted time this week while Mom is at the Elderly Center to prepare for a series of messages: one in May, four in June and one in July! I'd like to spend the time to see what is upon God's heart for these different groups of people. May is a Prayer Walk at HOP. June will be at three different places! And July will be just before leaving on the 8th for the States! If you're reading this, please pray for me!

Abby was feeling ill and yet she had to go to her basketball practice as her tournament is this coming weekend. Isaiah went to see the latest Avengers Movie... Abby and Alan went on Friday. And as I've mentioned in an earlier post, I don't want to go and see it!

Getting Lots Done!

It was a packed day!

Mom didn't have any program at the elderly center, but I booked a massage at 1pm!

So, this morning Mom watched In Touch while I went out to run errands!

After lunch, we took off for her massage. I had time for a run and completed more errands!

Since we went to Costco yesterday and bought a pizza, we had plenty of food for dinner!

When we got home from her massage, Mom got to watch ONE episode of Little House. She was thrilled as we no longer have time on the week days to do that.

Mom also had a brief conversation with Annie this morning. Please pray for Annie. She's not doing well as she is still dizzy as if she was still on the cruise ship! She can't seem to beat this 'syndrome'!

Big Praise!

Today was the big decision day... Will the Xihu Elderly Center take my mom?

When I went to pick her up, the social worker walked out to greet me...

She looked at me... and I looked at her...

And she said, "Yes, we will take your mom!"

I gave her a big hug...

What a relief!

They have experienced the big messy bad habit THREE TIMES this week... but after the first time, they were ready! So, they are retraining her... that's what the social worker told me.

They want me to bring her in 10 minutes earlier each morning when they have the manpower to supervise her. They want to see if they can get her to go in the morning... We shall see if their 'retraining' works.

I was so happy... They actually have a mutual agreement which we signed!

I love their program and I know Mom does too...

When we got into the elevator, a lady, the same age as Mom (just 9 months younger) was talking to me and telling me that she's the person assigned to 'take care of Mom'. What does that mean? She is to keep Mom on task and to get Mom where she needs to go... ha, ha, ha... Mom also has another gentleman who takes her on walks after lunch each day! They also have kept up with her daily journal and will now work on memorizing Bible verses with Mom! Each day they give her a different task to accomplish... and will also do different mind games.

The Xihu Elderly Program is such an answer to prayer...

I will now have some free time each day...

Last Class & Other Items

Today was my last class with the foreign police... they again surprised me with gifts and a potluck. It was a great morning...

I then rushed back home to switch to my scooter... because I had to rush over to the Yang Ming Hospital to pick up the rest of the health check up report and then pay for the two weeks that my mom was attending their elderly program.

I then rushed back home and switched to the car to pick Mom up as she was going to have dinner with James while I tutor...

After tutoring, I went and picked her up and she was happy and exhausted! When she went to bed, I went for my quick run!

After a quick shower, I was fast asleep on the sofa until Alan came home... I was so exhausted! I think I could have slept all the way until tomorrow morning...

Abby was teaching at the cram school and Isaiah was heading back as they didn't win...

Avengers!

Tonight is the opening night of the newly released Avengers: End Game movie!

Alan and Abby are going on Friday and so I worked on getting them tickets for the 8:50 show. Amazing... very booked! We tried the earlier show... We tried the later show... Finally, Alan relented and booked the seats that were off to the side... But at least they got tickets!

It was another busy day... Tutoring... Counseling...

Alan picked Mom up and NO BAD HABIT! Yippy!

They want to ask me to buy this mic gadget so that it would be easier to communicate with Mom. I will go and ask about that tomorrow...

I have another long list of things to do for tomorrow...

Busy Day!

I am adjusting Mom's morning breakfast in order to make sure she does not do her 'bad habit' at the elderly center. So, today was a 'good' day!

I had my morning Bible study and went for a longer run in the hot hot weather! I had to stop at a 7/11 for a green tea! Then it was time for errands -- going to the post office, the bank, getting gas, picking up the guitar, buying groceries, cooking dinner... By the time I got back home, I was again rushing out the door to pick Mom up! Once we're on track, I can pick her up later...

I had a relaxing evening once Mom went to bed... in fact, I was so relaxed that I fell asleep on the sofa!

Well... it was a very busy day.

I didn't know that the Xihu Elderly Center wanted me to stay for two hours and come back to pick up Mom early... They are very professional and wanted to make sure Mom was ok. I hope it's only today... as I had planned on getting things done this morning, but all the plans went out the window.

When I came back to pick Mom up and to hand in more paperwork, the social worker had some 'bad news' for me. Can  you guess?

Mom was digging poop. And the social worker said, THEY CANNOT HAVE THAT KIND OF BEHAVIOR! They don't supervise restroom breaks... It took the aide 20 minutes to clean up the mess Mom made! It was exactly as I had described it to them. A TOTAL MESS! They are going to observe for five days. If this continues, they will not accept Mom!

Please pray... I will have to make sure Mom has her bowel movements at home... Or else... WAHHHH!

I love the Xihu Elderly Care Facilities... It's seven minutes from my home. It's a Christian based program, so each morning they have a worship time. I want Mom to be at Xihu... but they made it very clear that poop digging is not permitted!

It's Resurrection Sunday!

I'm physically tired... but it has been a very fulfilling day...

I was up early... as usual... and Mom was in a hyper mode...

I went out to do a couple of errands since Alan was home...

At 2:15 we went off to church. I helped with set up and went and tutored... The kids are improving... Hopefully, they will be able to get into an international school this August!

Alan led the Resurrection service, speaking on the Purpose and Power of the Resurrection. One very excellent point was -- we don't need more of God's power... we just need to apply the power He has given us!

James came and stayed for dinner...

After helping to clean up, we got home at 8:00 and I was busy with getting mom to bed...

We again stayed up to watch TV... Tomorrow I will be taking Mom to Xihu... YIPPY!

What a blessed Saturday!

I went and tutored... then went shopping with Abby.  We also went and got a massage.

Came home and had James over for dinner.

He wanted duck, so I bought duck for dinner... YUMMY.

Watched TV in the evening...

Rain, Rain, Rain... On Good Friday!

I forgot to mention that there was an earthquake yesterday. It freaked my brother out as he was on the 9th floor...

Today was my mom's last day at the YangMing Elderly Care Center. The people there really love my mom. They asked if I could bring her back once a week... for a visit! On Monday she will be at the Xihu Elderly Care Center... That place is a five minute drive from my house... but parking might be a problem. We will see...

Alan and I had a nice morning... just hanging out together.

I did squeeze in a run in the afternoon... and then went off to tutor!

It was raining quite hard... I haven't ridden on a scooter in that kind of rain for quite a while...

Different Appointments!

I had made an appointment to get Mom's ears cleaned but it was too long of a wait... so I will have to make another appointment!

The day again flew by...

I didn't have to cook as we still have plenty of food in the fridge. Mom isn't eating lunch at home... neither do the kids and Alan... so I only need to cook for dinner!

The weather was nice but no time to run... just a quick 30 minutes.

The kids are almost finished with their midterms... Isaiah has calculus tomorrow... one of his toughest... Abby has computer and she said it's going to be just one big guessing test...

And still no fecal sample...
