Another Full Day at the MOE!

Well... I thought maybe the ride to the MOE would be weird... lots of traffic control... as Pelosi was going to visit the Legislature Office and the Presidential Hall, both which are next to or very near the MOE building where I work. I messaged a co-worker... Her response... not yet... Sure enough, things were not blocked off... but just half an hour later, it was! I made it!

The day always goes by very quickly. Three people with whom I've been encouraging to 'move forward' told me that they have had interviews... one accepted a new job and two more are waiting... These wonderful individuals are just stuck in jobs that they don't enjoy, but pay a salary. I've been sharing with them about God!

I came home, switched to the car and drove to pick Mom up!

So much to do... Prayed with this sister... Prayed with Alan... Blogged... Laundry... I'm looking forward to a 'free day' tomorrow!

It Rained... For More Than 5 Minutes!

I am happy to say that I actually went out for a run... to my usual park... for 11kms... in the rain! It was more of a sprinkle... and it was still quite warm... but it is better than the treadmill!

I spent the morning working... by 11:30, I had to get up... so I went to the store and bought eggs. I had to bake for tomorrow.

Alan and I had time to talk and pray at 12:15. And at 1pm, I was out...

After I got back, it was baking... candy bar brownie cake! And then I cleaned out the kitchen cabinets... and proceeded to post things to give away! YEAH! That was another task that I've been meaning to get to...

Mom was back and I had dinner ready... While she feasted, I continued with my translation job. I'm almost finished and Isaiah has the last set ready for me to edit... I hope to get to that finish before next Wednesday!

Daily Lovely Insight:

Frankincense has so many benefits... but to release those benefits, it must be burned... I never thought about that... So... for our fragrance or specialties to be 'released', sometimes going through tough times will activate those beautiful qualities!

It Rained... For About Five Minutes...

The day started bright and early... after Mom left, I went over to World Gym for a quick workout with weights before tutoring at 10:30.

After tutoring, I was able to talk and pray with Alan, then I got busy with errands -- I had to drop off a foam mattress at our old house... it's a long story... then dropped off donations plus money as I ordered boxes again for the Philippines. We might be sending at least 10 boxes before the end of the year! I also went to SooChow University to drop off a key box for one of the teachers. While there, the ninth floor had a shelf by the elevator filled with free stuff. I didn't have time to look through everything, but I got a few books and new notebooks! Alan would love those!

When I was driving back, it started to rain... I was so happy, thinking maybe I'd get to go for a run in the rain. Unfortunately, the five minutes of rain did not cool down the day, whatsoever! Blaring hot... and even more humid. I decided to take a nap at home with the AC on. It was so good... when the phone rang, meaning Mom was back, I felt as if I could have slept for another two or three hours! I was really exhausted! I felt tired, but I didn't realize how tired I was!

This evening at 9pm in Taiwan, we had Family Time! Alan and Abby were going to head to the Charger's Training Camp, so that's why they wanted to have it at 6am in the States... 2pm on Monday afternoon for Isaiah! Soon, Isaiah, Abby, and I will be in the same time zone... How exciting! Just three more weeks!

Another Weekend Finished!

This morning, I got up and after time with Jesus, headed to our 'village magistrate' office. For Father's Day (in Taiwan, that's 8/8), each household was to receive two gifts -- 6 packs of tissues and a small tub of detergent. The line was so long... People were there at 7:00am! I went to buy bread and then to World Gym. When I finished, the line was reasonable... and there were still gifts.

I rushed home and got Mom up and showered and she had her breakfast!

The morning crawled by... it was hot... Then after lunch, Mom talked to Annie and I had prayer time with Alan. I had Mom resting in the living room, but she didn't want to rest! So, I got her ready and we went to church. At least there is AC there... and I brought crackers and biscuits. I also sat to talk to Joshua and Pauline.

I translated for the service. It was a testimony service... Four people shared.

7 Highlights:

1. Psalm 23:4-6

2. Psalm 37: 4-5

3. I Thes. 5:16-18

4. Phil. 2:3-4

5. What is a good testimony? A good testimony is an acknowledgment of God's absolute sovereignty in our lives, no matter what the end results turn out to be.

6. We need to pray, and do our part, and rest in God to work His will in our lives.

7. God remembers our birthday!

And this morning, this verse from Isaiah 64:4 touched my heart!

Saturday!

I got up early... as usual...

I went and bought a few things before getting Mom up...

Then Mom had breakfast... and after lunch, we went out. I first talked to and prayed with Alan.

I had booked her a massage with an 'old master'. It was down near the train station. So, we took the bus... after first walking down to the bus stop... and then from the bus stop to this guy's shop. It was hot. I pushed Mom in the wheelchair. Everyone was super nice. The passengers on the bus... the bus driver... all very helpful!

After the massage, I stopped at three places and got Mom food to eat... She has a very healthy appetite!

To get her home, we had to take the bus back and then I had to push her uphill... that was a workout as it was quite hot! I felt blessed as there were clouds and it was not as hot as yesterday!

When Mom was in bed and sound asleep, I went for a workout... ha, ha, ha...

Friday!

I had a full day... I'm glad I did the blood donation yesterday as I would have had no time today!

After Mom left, I had my Bible study on Isaiah. When that was finished, I rushed over to World Gym and did the 8km run... Then it was home for a shower and prayer time with Alan! I always like to chat and find out how he and Abby are doing...

I had to go and get Mom's health report... And since I was going to be in the Shihlin area, I bought a hair wash coupon and bubble milk tea coupon... YIPPY! What a treat! Absolutely fabulous!

I rushed home and got Mom's dinner ready and she was home!

I had Isaiah's Business in Practice Reflection to look through.... Translation to check... and I wanted to go back to World Gym for the Ab Crunch and Leg Weight Machines... ha, ha, ha... I didn't have time this morning... I am going to see about going twice a day/four days a week. I'm training for my trip... I think we will be doing a lot of walking... In fact, I found a walking tour of Edinburgh that looks absolutely fantastic!

Since I was out at World Gym, I stopped to pick up the PVC gloves that I had ordered. I can't believe I have finished three boxes of 100! I also stopped to buy soy bean milk! For dinner, I had a cucumber salad. It was just too hot to eat!

Thursday!

I had planned to take the day to relax...

After Mom left, I tidied up and went for a workout as I had told Ms. Chou at World Gym that I'd bring a copy of my passport so that she can see... MY ENGLISH NAME! So, she filled out the form again and I had to go and mail the letter. I went to the bank to update my passbook to see if MCU had sent money. Nothing yet. I mailed the letter, registered mail a second time, to apply for the two months extension, I finally came home to take a quick shower and then prayed with Alan.

When that was finished, I was off again. This time to visit a friend's newly opened cafe and then to donate blood! It was hot outside, blaring hot, and I got both done in less than 3 hours. It was so nice to be home... I was able to lay down before I had to get Mom's dinner ready! This evening, I did a load of laundry after Mom went to bed... And Taiwan government will continue to require weekly antigen test for the elderly! Ridiculous! Every Sunday night or Monday morning, I will have to poke my mom's nose and complete the test and send the Day Care Center a picture! I guess I should be glad that it's not on Wednesday!
