Hot with No Rain!

There were clouds and I heard thunder... but no rain! It's been muggy all day!

It was an early morning for me! I did go out for a run. Five runs this week... YIPPY!

I went and picked up more dumplings from friends... yippy! I love this festival because of the dumplings!

We went and ran errands in the afternoon. Abby had her Youth Fellowship, but we told her to stay home as she wasn't feeling well. She's wearing a mask even at home! Hopefully, she is just run down as she has been staying up until early morning to do Sudoku and at the same time, she's trying to lose weight. She has been working out twice a day, three days a week, and really watching her caloric intake. She's kept it up for a week, which is surprising! We shall see...

Dragon Boat Festival!

Happy Dragon Boat Festival 2022 - YouTube

Early this morning Alan met up with his discipleship group and one of the members was so bummed. His daughter tested positive which threw a wrench in their plan to fly off for the States this afternoon. What a shock. He hasn't gone back for over three years and was so looking forward to the trip. He finally decided to go on ahead and his wife and daughter will join him next week. You can't imagine the stress and the cost of rescheduling everything. They have already spent 500US$ for all the PCR tests!

Because it's a holiday, no day care center. I got mom up and she ate. Then around 11am, we all went out. We ran a few errands and then had lunch at Miramar. Alan and Abby went to watch the new Top Gun movie. I came home with Mom. It was too hot to go out for a walk. So, we stayed home. She listened to ancient Chinese poems. I also did another load of laundry! Yes, with the heat, things smell up faster!

A sweet friend came by and dropped of homemade tzongtzi! YIPPY!

After Mom went to bed, Abby and I went for some exercise. She went to the gym. I went for a run. I didn't go long as it was still so hot.

Tonight Isaiah and I booked our lodging in Freiburg and Paris! Now we move to our transportation.

Getting Hot!

Last night, Isaiah and I were booking for our trip this summer. We are progressing very nicely. We have England done. We are staying at Serge and Nancy's in Antwerp. We have not booked the Eurostar from London to Antwerp. Hopefully, we will do that tonight. We were going to fly but it gets expensive if you have luggage. Unfortunately, for Abby, we do! We booked Heidelberg lodging! I'm so excited! We booked Moudon, Switzerland lodging. We still have Freiberg and Paris. So, by this weekend, we should be done!

This morning after Mom went off, I tidied up and went for a run, even though it was already very hot! I think when Alan and Abby are gone, I might have to get up at 4am. Oh... I checked the weather for England and Europe and the weather there will be perfect for running!

I spent the rest of the afternoon preparing for my talks and the ppt. Abby will help me with adding the Chinese verses.

Last Soochow Bible Study... For this school year!

It's so hot...

And it's June... The heat will only go up... until maybe late October!

I had our final Soochow Bible study this afternoon. Living A Life of Testimony. It was a wonderful discussion as we also viewed four short testimonies.

Amy, the helper, was suppose to come, but no show... AGAIN! So, I had to hurry to get things done. A load of laundry, making Mom's bed, cleaning... And yes, Mom was promptly back and almost everything was finished.

I had a relaxing evening after Mom went to bed!

One thing: I received an email. My flight from Singapore to Taipei had been cancelled. I am now on a flight a day later, which means I will have over 30 hours at the Changi Airport! And no vouchers for food! Ha, ha, ha... At least Isaiah will be with me. We should enjoy ourselves! and camp out on the floor somewhere!

James, Annie, KR and Kurtis went and had a lovely meal as part of the "Wake". King's body was taken by UCLA, donated for research purposes. And Annie spent the day cleaning up the whole house! It has been a blessing to have James there. And James is now off for a week in Texas. God's perfect timing!

As for the Undesirable Path... I'm going to focus on Joshua! The first time he is mentioned is in Exodus 17:8

Exodus 17:8-16 | The Battle Belongs to the Lord | Rich Jones - YouTube

Joshua spent his entire life in Egypt, making bricks, most likely. He had never seen a battle much less lead an army to fight. And yet, he obeyed -- no excuse, no question asked! Why did Moses call on Joshua? Prior to Exodus 17, there was no mention of Joshua.

I find this so very interesting!

It's Raining... and the Passing of King Ko

Yes... the rain came again...

I was up early! I had to get Mom ready. After she took off, I went for a quick run as I had Bible study at 10am.

I shared about my father's condition and asked them to pray for Annie!

Later on in the afternoon, when I finished tutoring, I got a message from Annie. Our father passed. God revived him for those two days to make a firm decision and be baptized. He passed peacefully in his sleep!

I'm glad I had a free evening. It was good to rest! And I had time to plan for the summer trip!

Too Hot...

I was up early... after sleeping quite late. It is getting warm...

After getting Mom off, I did a load of laundry... I had to... the smell was getting too much with the heat! I have bought lots of smelly good stuff...

While the laundry was going, I went for a run. Again, I had to... the heat got so bad that I had to walk to breathe in the heat! I made it back.

I took a quick shower and went to pick up textbooks from a friend. She was going to chuck everything in the recycling.

We had plenty in the fridge, so no need to cook. A friend came by as we couldn't meet earlier as Mom couldn't go to the Center.

This evening, I had tap dancing class.

This Is Sunday's Entry!

The weather turned HOT overnight... We woke up to temperature in the high 20's... Alan said that it was hard to breathe out playing tennis.

We had church and the message was from John 6: 16-24.

Other than that, I didn't do much...

Daily Lovely Insight:

Pastor James

It's me. Do not be afraid.

7 Highlights:

1. Preparation determines our response.

2. Fatigue restricts our ability as anxiety clouds our judgement.

3. The real battle happens in the mundane. Be careful when we are bored.

4. When we don't focus on Jesus, we would get in trouble.

5. FEAR-- Forgetting whose I am, Entertaining Satan's lies, Accepting responsibilities that do not belong to us, Rejecting faith for worries and fears.

6. Time flies when Jesus is in our boat and we will get to our destination much faster.

7. Fear and Faith both come from the stirring of our heart.  How will we respond?
