Sunday

Alan is gone... but we got to hear from him... He went shopping for us at Carrefour Shanghai!

We had lunch with friends from the States and then headed to church. The kids were on the worship team... and I had to translate.

For dinner, I had bought ingredients to make turkey soup and we had bones from the luncheon at Soochow. I also made mashed potatoes and we had gravy, too. The food was fantastic. I brought back all the leftovers... So, we will have plenty to feast on this week!

At night we watched TV...

This week is going to be a busy one...

Catch Up Saturday!

It was a day of catching up... not on sleep or running... but on household chores...

I did two loads of clothes... and swept the floor...

I sorted through Abby's bags, looking for a computer plug... I did not find it...

And Mom was more restful as she had such a busy day...

I did have to tutor... and it was great!

Kurtis was supposed to be here... but...

Thankfully, Isaiah was able to be home... Unfortunately, the reason why he was able to be home was that he lost his game -- it was single elimination. So, he's out of the tournament! We were planning on going to see his second game, but he never had a second game...

Abby had a meeting this morning... and had to go and shop for the upcoming 'volunteer trip'...

We were going to go out to dinner... but the kids were too tired. Plus I have plans to go out for lunch tomorrow... So, too much eating out is not good for Mom. We ended the evening by watching a little bit of TV... and yes, I did a few more household chores, including mopping the floor!

Alan Took Off...

This morning, Alan and I dropped Mom off and then we drove to drop Alan off at the domestic airport. He headed off to Shanghai...

After coming home, I changed into my running clothes and took off.

After getting home, I changed clothes and took off to meet up with Isaiah as he forgot his wallet. At the 7/11, I decided to try one of their hot dogs... NEVER AGAIN! For 45NT$, it was not even delicious. For 50$ I could get a hot dog at Costco and a drink... refillable!

Isaiah and I switched scooter. He rode off with Alan's and I took his back home. He has a big scooter... I rode very slowly. I had to make a spare key for him and filled up his tank.

I parked and came home to shower and headed out again.

Another show wanted to interview my mom and I had to be there to answer some questions. They also came over to the house to film some more.

After they left, I got Mom set on her dinner and night time routine. When she was sound asleep, I took off to tutor!

Abby was teaching.

Isaiah had basketball practice.

We all got back at around the same time.

Alan had arrived safely in Shanghai and tomorrow the debate will be starting.

The Day Flew By... and No Time to Run!

I don't know how the day flew by so fast...

But it did...

I was busy sorting through all the "white elephants" in the back of our car... I had to look at what would be funny or useful... and wrap those up... the rest I plan to donate. I have one more bag to carry up... but I already have 20 gifts... I can use whatever else I have for my Tuesday afternoon Bible study kids... They might enjoy the fun!

I also prepared the study that will be starting on December 2nd -- taming the tongue. Unfortunately, I had aligned everything... so I thought. But when I got to the copier and they started printing the pages out... it wasn't exactly what I had wanted... Oh well...

Then I went to pick up a book from the library, buy fruit from the vendor and dish washing liquid from the supermarket.

I did have time to sit and read a new book, Loving God by Chuck Colson. I'm only on chapter 2 and I love it.

I also cleaned out Abby's closet as I was looking for wrapping paper... That was an unexpected task... Which meant I had no time for a quick run... I hope I will have time for a longer run tomorrow.

New Verse... New Goals...

As some of you know, I have yearly time of looking back and looking ahead.

This year the verses the Lord gave me is: Psalm 115: 14-15...

What a beautiful promise from God...

Indeed, may HE cause me and my children and Alan to flourish, to increase, to be blessed... so that we can be a blessing to others. He indeed is the Maker of heaven and earth! He is my help and my shield.

I won't share all the goals for this year...

But one revised goal is that I will consider another long run... I did the 12hr ultra but I didn't make 100kms. So, I am looking and considering going for a 100km ultra... it would be fantastic to run in another country... but maybe that will be a goal for the year I turn 60!

Good Bible Study!

Isaiah couldn't be at our Bible study this afternoon... but everyone who came last week, showed up... plus one more kid... And supposed, we will probably have two more come... I should tell them that they can invite others... We won't have our study next week, but we will resume in December!

God worked it out as I didn't have to tutor this evening. Isaiah couldn't come home early. Abby couldn't come home early... So, it was perfect!

In the morning, I worked on more of the ORTV sentences, ran errands and re-potted two plants. I also made another loaf of bread and dinner for everyone!

Yes, I squeezed in a quick run... it was much cooler and sprinkling... but I like running in this kind of weather!

I have started to get ready for the NSB Holiday Party/Celebration next Tuesday!  It's going to be great fun!

Tooth Fixed... and Other Things...

I knew it was going to be a busy week... I had no idea how busy!

First, I went out to find a dentist... I went to three different clinics and they were fully booked. I called our usual dentist and he doesn't open until 2pm. He told me to come but I'd have to wait. And I did wait... and he finally got to me at 3:30. I sat and read the Bible!

This morning, I went to the library... and worked on ORTV sentences.

Tooth was fixed and I went for a quick run.

Mom was back and I had dinner ready.

Alan came back and I was out the door as I have a new student.

So, I tutored from 6-9:30!

I came home and tidied up the house and had more prep to do...

But I remembered to blog!

As for the weather, it has really changed... cold and rainy!
