Grocery Shopping and Working on Talks

With no morning church program, I took Mom grocery shopping this morning.

In the afternoon, she had her acupressure massage while I sat at a local coffee shop to work on my talks from the book of James.

We had plenty of food in the fridge.

Alan redid the clothes line in the back balcony.

And we started back with counseling on Wednesday evening.

I did get a quick nap before the couple showed up... Or else I think I might have fallen asleep in the middle of counseling.

A Very Exhausting Day!

Mom woke up super early today... so... we were out the door for her morning program by 9:15.

I had Bible study at our house... The study was fantastic and the food delicious.

I rushed off to pick Mom up and had a 15 minute nap and Mary arrived.

Mom had a nice nap, while Mary and I worked on cleaning the house.  I also had to make luggage arrangement for our Scoot flight in January. I am sorry to say... these budget airlines are not really that great... They add on for every little thing... a 25 kilo bag was about 40US$ ONE WAY... So, 80US$ and I paid for TWO BAGS... totaling 160US$ in addition to tickets. And there will be no meals served... at least we didn't purchase the meal since we will be eating quite well on the cruise.

After getting Mom all dinner and ready for bed, I took off for my evening Bible study.

It was a time to share and pray together...

I came back at 10:30 and went for my half hour jog before sitting down to blog...

Good night...

A Very Productive Day!

In the morning, I cut my mom's hair. She was complaining about the length in the back. She didn't think it was short enough! At least she can't get a razor and shave it. She used to do that and it looked so bad!

The task for today was getting the National Health Insurance Card.

So, off we went... and God helped me all the way... He provided a parking space. He helped me to remember all the document. The offices that I had to go to were all in the same building. So, after about three hours, we were done! Hopefully, the NHI card will be mailed to me by next week. With a long weekend coming up, it might be the first week of October. Then, I'm going to make a few doctor's appointments.

In the afternoon, Mom had her "class". The teachers are great. And we played cards. They had these giant playing cards. So, I got home and went on line and ordered a deck. I think I'll order two decks. Mom can play solitaire and 21 and all sorts of card games...

A friend came to visit this evening and brought over so many gifts for me. She even gave me a set of Annie's favorite sauces! I'm going to save those for her...

The kids finally came home at around 10:15. Isaiah had tennis practice and Abby is serving as a counselor for the high school fellowship at Nanhu Senior High. Alan was in bed by 9pm.  That's because he and Isaiah and Abby were up at 1am to watch the Chargers game... yes, they really did get up! Chargers won!

Still So Hot...

It's true... the weather has not cooled down... It's still in the mid 30's and at night the temperature drops to high 20's. So, we still need to turn on the AC.

With the wedding last night, we brought just two dishes of leftover home since we didn't stay long enough to bring all the other food back.

It was nice to be home... I cut Isaiah's hair yesterday. I cut Alan's hair today. And I'm going to cut Mom's hair tomorrow.

There is always plenty of housework to get done... I try to rest on Sunday, so just a load of wash and mopping the floor!

I was the translator at church tonight...

And yes, I'm healed! Praise the Lord!

Tomorrow I will go and get Mom her National Health Insurance Card... She's been here for six months! YEAH... I'm praying that everything will go smoothly!

Complete Healing...

Even at 3 this afternoon, I was feeling... achy all over...

Let me back track...

We are having a bit of a typhoon weather... which is my favorite running weather.  But as you might know, my body has not been feeling up to going out for a run. But the weather was calling me by name. So, the only thing that wanted to go was my mind. I guess mind over matter worked. I went for a short 25 minute run... but as soon as I stepped out, oh how I wanted to go for an hour or two or three... the wind was blowing and there was a slight drizzle. But Mom was home and I could only leave her on the massage chair for 30 minutes. So, I had to be back in 25!

Yes, my body was not liking how my mind wanted to keep going...

I tried to get my mom to rest after lunch as I knew we would have a late night with a wedding that started at 4pm. Indeed, we didn't get home until 9pm and they were serving drinks -- alcoholic drinks. She kept saying, "Why are you not letting me try any red wine? It's not every day I get to join a wedding and have some alcohol!" I said, "Mom, you've had three glasses of red wine and three glasses of champagne already! Plus two glasses of juice cocktail (this had the least amount of alcohol!)" She did not believe me... She could not remember. But her face was so flushed... And she ate a lot!

Ok... back to my body aches. By the time I got back home tonight, my right shoulder was completely pain free! Wow... My neck could move... My back was almost completely back to normal... As I sit here typing this post, I can feel only a slight ting of a pulling pain. I think by the time I go to bed, it will be completely healed!

Praise Jesus! I hope my sister is experiencing the healing power of Jesus! She needs it too!

Down to Miaoli and Back!

This morning we left early to head down to Miaoli.

A dear friend's father passed away and I wanted to stand with her for the service as most of the Dad's family are NOT YET believers.

Three years ago, this man was on his death bed. They had trech him and was trying to decide if they should turn off the machine. My friend lives in the States and came back to Taiwan. She asked me to visit him in the ICU and pray with her for God to intervene.  In his comatose state, he saw a vision of an angel coming to his bedside, telling him to turn off the machine. At that moment, there was a doctor standing next to him with his family members, asking him if he wanted to turn the machine off. They were so shocked when he motioned to turn off the machine! They thought for sure he would not be able to breathe on his own and would be gone. He not only started to breathe on his own but was out of ICU and went home. He went to church to thank the "BIGGEST GOD" who healed him.

I hadn't seen him all these years. Just a few days ago, my friend sent me a message. Her father had a massive heart attack and passed away. The family members wanted a Buddhist ceremony. But in honor of what the man had testified of the tall angel dressed in white, shining in brilliant light, the family members gave my friend 30 minutes before the Buddhist traditional ceremony to have a Christian service. She shared her testimony. She asked me to share. We had one Christian song and read three passages. They let her display a few Christian verses at the front table. When we finished, they had their chanting service with incense and offering.

We headed back to Taipei.

My right shoulder is still whacky... so we rested this afternoon.

Right Shoulder Now In Pain...

Wow, my body is revolting... Now, my right shoulder and neck feel tight and sore... I'm praying as it's a busy weekend...

Tomorrow I will be driving down to Miaoli for a memorial service of a friend's father who passed away suddenly.

Saturday is a wedding where Alan and I have been invited to say a word of prayer of blessing.

Sunday is HOP and I'm translating for the speaker.

I need my physical body to cooperate...
