An Unexpected Restful Saturday!

I woke up early to have my date with Jesus... and when I finished, everyone was still fast asleep. So I went back to bed...

And miraculously, Mom didn't get up until 10am. She got up to go to the bathroom, but went back to bed. So, I got to sleep in until 9:30!

She watched Little House and then we were off to Mom's massage. Abby was very helpful and went with Mom.

While they were getting the massage, I went for a run and then shopped for things at the local market. The timing was perfect.

I picked them up and we bought Coco drinks...and decided to go to a new restaurant near our house. Korean hot pots! Mom had her own meal and she absolutely licked everything clean!

We came home and I put a load of clothes in the wash and Mom had her shower. She was ready for bed... I think the massage always makes her feel very relaxed! And having a nice hot shower really does help her to sleep better!

I blogged and did housework. Abby did her homework. When Isaiah came back, we watched TV.

I thought with Alan gone, I was going to have a super hectic day... but it turned out to be a very restful day!

We did hear from Alan... Not a lot of details... but I guess he is doing well!

Early Start...

Yes, I was up super early... but praise the Lord, I did have time to rest. I decided NOT to go for a run and rested instead!

I was up to take Alan to the airport, as you might recall...

After getting back just before 7am, I decided to put a load of laundry in and went back to sleep... but not for long! Isaiah was heading out to class... and then Abby was up!

I also had to get Mom ready... as I dropped her off just before 10am!

I was back home, and did some cleaning before I went out in the pouring rain to pay a bill and meet up with a dear sister for lunch!

After lunch, I braved the cold and the rain and ran errands -- I had to pick up library books, and a pot and lid from the church and buy some steamed buns for the kids.

I was wet by the time I got back home at around 3pm.  So, I had a choice -- nap or run? I changed out of my wet clothes and laid down for a 20 minute nap which turned out to be over an hour. I think that was a better decision as I'm still trying to get over my cold.

I woke up to fix Mom's dinner and check my emails... and soon, it was time to pick Mom up!

Abby had to teach... Isaiah came home as practice was cancelled...

We heard from Alan. It's cold there... they arrived safely!

Please pray for Aunt Ethel. Mom Bea emailed me and said that Aunt Ethel tweaked her back pretty badly when she fell in the middle of the night on her way to the bathroom!

Feeling Better...

Two weeks ago, I booked a 90 minute massage, not knowing that today I'd be fighting off a cold.

Needless to say, it felt so refreshing to get the oil massage...

I came home, had lunch, read and fell asleep for an hour!

I woke up much refreshed -- my back was feeling better, my nose wasn't running so much...

In fact, I felt so good that I went out for a run!

Rejuvenating!

I rushed back to take a quick shower and Mom was home... I barely had time to get dinner on the table.

I get her to take a shower at night now... as that seems to help her sleep better!

Even with the rain, Abby and Isaiah had practice... And Alan had basketball.

Alan takes off tomorrow at 5am for Japan! I will have to drive him to the airport... the International Airport! He'll be gone until Tuesday!

Fighting Off A Cold... and Getting So Much Done!

Actually, all I wanted to do today was sleep... But Alan had a day off and we had many things to get done before he takes off early Friday morning...

In the back of our car, we had two huge bags of donations... then I had shoes to donate to a school that was collecting for Africa... and I had coats to donate for the church second hand clothing rack... After that was done, we went to a bank to get money exchange for Alan. The wait was long and when one of the receptionist found out that we wanted to exchange money, she sent us across the street. No wait and no fees! Nice receptionist! We then went to Costco... and by now, Alan was starving. So he had a piece of pizza and a hot dog... We had stopped at our usual fruit stand where I bought some apples. So, I was in the mood for some fresh fruit... I ate an apple and the pepperoni off his pizza. He also got me some sauerkraut!

We weren't finished yet...

We headed over to Carrefour to buy a replacement piece for the helmet, tissue (Costco tissue is just too much... where do people store that amount of tissue packets?), and mayonnaise... We had one more errands, but it was already 3pm and I had to tutor at 5pm. So we headed home.

After putting everything away and getting Mom's dinner and bedtime routine set, I was out like a light on the sofa... I might have been snoring... 45 minutes later, I was up and out the door.

Tutoring went well... On one of the corners, there was a pile of nice plastic containers. If I wasn't on a scooter, I would have taken all of them. I only took one!

Alan and I had a nice evening meal... no complex meeting, no counseling... it was just the two of us...

The kids had their own activities -- Isaiah was tutoring and Abby was at the Soochow Youth Fellowship. She wanted to come home and make mac and cheese. She got six boxes for her birthday surprise! I had a friend bring them from the States!

I plan to take time tomorrow to rest... and recover! Really!!!?!?!?!

Bible Study & Other Things...

Yes, I had my Bible study this afternoon... One gal is very close to receiving Jesus. Please pray for her.

The morning was spent getting ready and I did go for a run... splendid weather... cold but without rain!

After the study, I first went and mail off a pair of shoes to Mizuno Taiwan. I hope they will refund or mail me a new pair of shoes. I was running the other day, and the whole sole of the both shoes started to flap off! The heels weren't even worn bare, so I could have still ran in them. And without the soles, I can't even donate them to Africa! So... I'm hoping that they will respond.

After that,  I went to pick up Kurtis' health report so that in January we can proceed with the ARC application!

I rushed back to get Mom's dinner ready...

The evening went by so quickly...

There is always so much to do... Alan is getting ready to take off again on Friday...

So, tomorrow will be our 'run around and do errands' date!

Quite A Cold Day!

What a great day...

I started a new study on taming the tongue... We usually meet on Tuesday morning but because I've started the Tuesday afternoon Bible study, I asked the ladies to switch to Monday morning... at least for the month of December.

It's getting quite chilly... but last night, two different people blessed us with four bags of clothes. We sorted through everything and there were so many nice items... winter stuff... so I'm sitting now dressed in one of the nice coats... warm and comfy!

I did got out for a quick run and yes, I was wearing clothes from one of the gals...

There were plenty of errands to run... Not to mention tutoring...

One great news... One of my students got out of EAL... we've been working towards that... so we are both thrilled!

After tutoring, I went to check out the community college that has a tap dancing class. Maybe I'll sign up for it, if they will continue in the spring time... we shall see.

Sunday, the First Day of December!

It's already December...

I woke up wanting to hibernate... Like can I sleep for the whole month of December?

I baked and used the crock pot to make the lunch for tomorrow's study.

Isaiah led the worship and Abby played the drums...

The service was great and we had a great dinner...

We ended the evening with Family Time as next week Alan will be gone again!

Oh... I will add that Ford vs Ferrari was absolutely great. It was 152 minutes... and it was so good that the time went by so fast! I enjoyed it for many reason... for one, the actors were perfect in portraying their part... And I loved it that it was based on a true story!
