What A Saturday!

I was up early and each morning, I say... just go for 8K... and then... 9K... and I get 10K done. Finished the week with 61.69K! Astounding!

I was home and took a shower and headed out... You guessed it... My friend's house to get things done.

People came to pick up things... BUT... the major items are still there: washer and dryer, cabinets, dressers...I worked and cleaned and sorted... and it looks ready for the cleaning lady... I carted things home and will go back for one more load! But it is done... and I'm praying... that somehow, God will bring people to move those things!

I was home by 5pm and Alan and Isaiah came home from their MASSAGE!!!!!!! I want one!

Isaiah helped me with the laundry before he took off for dinner with a friend.

I then worked on packing up Mom's stuff! TWO FULL SUITCASES! Alan will bring them. They also contained some stuff for Annie! Because of our travel dates, Alan will go first with two suitcases filled with things that he will leave at Annie's. When we come on Friday, he is going to pick us up from Ontario and we will head straight to San Diego. Because the car is a sedan, we have to fit four suitcases, three carryons and three people! I will still have things that are for Annie... HER PINEAPPLE CAKES AND UNDER THE SHELVES BASKETS! She will have to wait until we head back up to Torrance to get those. Or maybe I can get Alan to carry some in his carryon bag! We shall see!

I also worked on Isaiah's room... It is looking better... but he won't be sleeping in there as that's going to be our packing station. We currently have six suitcases and three carryons in there!

The rest of the evening flew by... I will go back to my friend's house tomorrow... not tonight. I was feeling a bit tired!

A Speedy Friday!

I was up early and ran my 10K... yes, slow but steady...

Then I got the hangers reorganized after my shower and it was time to get going... I wanted to leave earlier as I usually check the recycling before taking off! And I couldn't believe it... I actually arrived by 8:46!

I started with my Revelation study... then read the news... the morning flew by!

I had brought my own lunch and it was so delicious. Cheese with German crackers!

I had a student come to chat... which was great and made the day go by even faster!

After she left, I watched TV shows and 5pm came around!

I scootered back home and stopped to give things to a gal who used to live at our Danhsui house. I came home and checked the recycling and then set up as we had dinner guests! Alan went to Costco and bought the salads and they were so delicious!

What a fun evening!

A Different Kind of Sabbath

I was up early and did my slow 10K.

After a quick shower, I completed a few tasks: took down the clothes and put the stuff away, organized the new books I got, looked over the calendar for this week and then I was on the sofa to read a bit.

Oh, I should mention that the MOE called and asked if I could come in... to sub... but they found someone else! I was so relieved.

Alan came home at 10am and we were out by 11 to get Coco drinks after a stop at the library. I picked up the book that I had recommended the library to buy: When less becomes more! The book arrived and I picked it up...

We went to Costco and I went in and bought salads while Alan went to RTMart and got the glass on his cell phone replaced. We then ate at the food court... YEAH... AC and YUMMY Costco Salads.

We came back home by 3:15 and I took a Power Nap. At 4pm, I had prayer with a sister and at 5pm, I was out the door, heading to my friend's house. I was there just before 6pm and the people started arriving to pick up things. Wow... what a tornado of activities! I cleaned out both fridge and sorted through a huge tub of knick-knacks! I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I will have to go back on Saturday and I should be finished!

I left at 8:45 and got home to have Family Time at 9:30! That was so good...

After that finished, I put away the stuff I brought back. Our fridge is now packed with lots of different sauces and goodies!

I blogged and put together the things I will bring for tomorrow... and headed off to bed... It was a very different kind of Sabbath...

A Lot Going On Wednesday

I was up early and ran my 10K... IN THE BLARING HEAT even though I was out by 6am. Still not early enough!

I took a quick shower and went down to stack the recycling for pick-up! I had to leave before they arrived as I had Bible study. I made the delicious couscous with spinach salad. SO GOOD! The other gals brought an assortment of goodies... And we looked at Ephesians 5:3-8.

I was home by 1pm and it was hot. Alan was home and we chatted a bit before I took a Power Nap and headed out for tutoring! We wanted to talk about CHURCH issues! Please pray!

The hour of tutoring flew by... and on the way home, I stopped and paid a couple of bills.

For dinner, I had roast beef and hard boiled egg and noodles and more couscous salad. YUMMY!

At 8:30, I had my Revelation Study on line!

It was a very muggy evening!

A Productive MOE Day!

I was up early and yes... it was hot... But I was out for my 10K before 6am! I have to get up even earlier... Or else run at 10pm!

I was home and took a shower and went down to B1. I checked the recycling and then took off... I made it there.

I used the time to watch a video series for my Bible study on the book by Randy Alcorn, Heaven. I read the news about the ceasefire... and then I watched the old TV series, Matlock.

Today I had a stream of students who came to talk... so that made the day fly by... At 5:08, I clocked out and headed to the friend's house that I'm helping to clean. Several groups of people came to take things... It was very busy... and I had to supervise and get things tidied up. One couple brought their kid who was way too hyper! I was so glad when they left. I sat down and worked for another hour and a half and then scootered home. I will have to be back on Thursday... and maybe even on Saturday. We shall see!

I got home by 9:45 and blogged and ate and put things away. I then made the couscous and spinach salad for my Bible study tomorrow morning.

I was so very ready to go to bed!

A Somewhat Easy Day!

I was up early and had a nice time to sit with Jesus!

I did go out for my 10K... that was not so nice as I really do need to be out of the house by 5:30 or else the heat is unbearable. I was home and took a shower and headed out to th post office! I was trying to mail 15 kilos of books to Brazil. They don't do slow boat mailing. And they said that the customs in Brazil might charge her a 'tax' to get the box out of customs! OH NO! The mailing cost over 150US$. And I do not trust the 'tax' that they will charge. So... I lugged the books back. Since I was out, I went to the library to pick up a book that I had reserved, but I decided not to read. (If you want to know why, you can ask in the comment!) I also went to PXMart to buy tissues, a bottle of Coca Cola (To bring to MOE) and a carton of milk. (I didn't want to go to Costco!)

I was home and it was already 3:30. I had prayer time at 4pm.

It was hot and Alan had the AC on... He had a meeting at church.

Isaiah came home and went down to do his 30 minutes of exercise!

Tomorrow: MOE!

God Strengthened Sunday

I was up but not super early... In fact, it felt so good to sleep in!

I did some cleaning at home and then headed out at 8:45 to the "house" and worked from 9:30 to 12:30! I went from room to room and gathered laundry basket loads and IKEA loads of stuff and brought things down to the first floor to organize. I bagged up the freezers... Alan came at 12:30 and we loaded up the car! I scootered home. He drove. We got home almost at the exact same time!

I then used the hour to put things away... but I didn't finish and we were out the door... A sweet sister that I've been training has been super consistent in coming early to help with set-up! She also buys snacks to share... What a joy to have her around!!!!

I was feeling tired, but the LORD sustained me as I was the translator. We also had many newcomers!

We ate dinner. I helped to clean up and we dropped Fenny home.

We were home by 8:15 and I had to work to finish putting everything away. Lots of food items... good stuff... I also cut up fruit! By 9:30 I was finished... and had prayer time with a sister.

Looking ahead, it's going to be another packed week... MOE, Bible studies, meeting up with people, and going to the "house" to finish up everything!

Helping Others Saturday!

I was up and ran my 10K to finish the week with 60K! YIPPY!

It's getting harder to run... as the heat is intense.

I took a quick shower and got started with finishing some more boxes of books.

I had to head out as I was to be at the friend's house by 10:30. And when I walked in, I saw the task ahead! I knew it was going to take hours then I had set for today! I worked straight through for about three hours and made a lot of progress. People came to pick up things and that was great. I will have to go again tomorrow! The focus will be on packing up the two fridges and maybe work some more on the kitchen! I am not cleaning as they hired a cleaning lady. I'm just going through the whole place and get things that they left either to donate or give away. I had until June 29th when the cleaning lady is scheduled to come for seven hours! What I am doing will take about 15 hours!

I was to go to the Danhsui House for a complex meeting, but I didn't make it. I headed home and worked some more with the books and finished. Alan helped to bring all the books down to the first floor lobby and we headed off! He also dropped off a box for Soochow and we have a box for church tomorrow!

We went to the Danhsui house to pick up something for my friend who used to live there and watered the plants and asked for a management fee paper that will be for the rest of the year. The apartment looks so nice! I know God is going to lead someone to rent it from us... and yes, at a very low price! Maybe only 100US$ per month!

We headed to Costco Beitou but it was way too packed. So, we decided to head home, especially since Isaiah was home and didn't know what to eat for dinner. I can always whip something up, but he couldn't figure out what I had to 'whip' up. (There were slices of ham and bread and mayonnaise, so he could have made himself a ham sandwich! And we had chips and salsa, too!)

We bought these pork chop dinner boxes and came home!

The guy came over and picked up five boxes of books, a Tefal pan, a tea kettle and a pair of shoes! I still have a WeeRide Bike rack to give away. I also have a stack of books that I will try to mail to Brazil for Abby. Things are getting out of the house. Oh, next Thursday night, Alan and Isaiah will go get the suitcases and the bed. It's time to set up Isaiah's room and pack for the States. I will also have to order some more stuff for Annie!

Anyhow, the day went by so quickly... helping others!

Another MOE Day!

I was up early... but ran very very slow... I was home and showered and put things down for people to pick up!

And at 8:10 I headed down to the recycling and after cleaning, I headed out. I got there right on time!

The hours edged along slowly... And yes, I watched more videos about decluttering and organizing... BOOKS. But I can't do it... I need to... but it is so difficult. I will work on donating.

I left at 5:10 and it was sprinkling. And after arriving home, I checked the recycling again and went up to the house and ate noodles... YUMMY!

I was going to head out to the library to donate a bag of books but it was sprinkling...

I think I was feeling lazy...

A Not-Exactly Restful Sabbath!

I was up but again not early enough as I go for my run after my time in the study... and if I leave by 6am, it is already blaring hot!

I came back home, showered and put things for donation in a large bag... will have to get to that later! Then Alan came home and we left to help out our friends. Well... by the time they packed up all the books in their house, we had about 10 boxes in our car. Another word, our car had no room for anything! I brought up three boxes and separated the books. I will start dropping off about 30 books a day for donation at the library. There are books that I hope to give away. But it's going to be a much bigger project than I had expected! They have other items that I will have to give away in this coming week... They left this afternoon and I will go back on Saturday!

We got home and ate lunch... I worked on posting things and finally took a nap before leaving to the library and then to tutoring. It was so blaring hot to ride in that heat... It took 80 minutes total of travel time to tutor for 60 minutes... Not the best use of time!

Alan had basketball so I was home alone as Isaiah had dinner with his co-workers. I worked on sorting more books! I will bring some to the MOE tomorrow! YIPPY! I didn't have to bake as I will bring some freshly baked bread and cream cheese to share! YIPPY! And I still don't need to cook as we have plenty to finish up in the fridge!

A Wild Wednesday!

I was up and not early enough. I ran 10K... barely... at a very slow pace!

I was home and after watching decluttering videos yesterday, I decided to move forward with one of the ideas. I took out all my clothes and I packed up my winter items and sorted through things I don't think I will wear. I made a pile for donation. I put clothes in a luggage (and the point is: which items will I actually pull out to wear?) and I got my closet and chest of drawers down to only my favorite pieces. That was one of the tips: Look at what you always wear... and that's true. I have only a few pieces that I wear all the time... Anyhow, I liked the results.

Alan was home and we decided to use today for a date... which didn't turn out to be a date.

We went and bought Coco and wax apples. We then went to pick up books from dear friends who are moving back to the States. Well... they were so far from being ready we decided to stay and have lunch with them and help. We are going back tomorrow!

We had to scooter back as I had tutoring at 4:30... Wow... I was feeling so tired, so I took a quick Power Nap! I think the heat zaps my strength.

I was home by 6:10 and just had tons of messages as I had posted the stuff at our friends' house on Buy Nothing and there were so many responses.

Anyhow, at 7:30, we had marriage counseling with a dear couple!

Isaiah had work and basketball game. He didn't get home until 10:30.

Alan turned on the AC this evening...

A MOE Day!

I was up early and I did go for a run... not 10k...

I got back and showered and headed out...

People were coming to pick up things, which I had already brought down on the first floor.

I checked the recycling and took off...

It was a long day... I watched Monk, Decluttering and Sermon videos... ha, ha, ha...

There was nothing to edit.

I did have some students who came in to talk... and I had baked muffins to give away!

I scootered home by 5:50 and had dinner. I brought my own lunch, which was great! I had a double cheese burger from McDonald's... how I love cheeseburgers!

Alan was home all day... Of course, he went to play tennis in the morning.

Isaiah had work... He is starting to work out each evening! I HOPE!

Tomorrow Alan and I are going to have a date!

A Mindfull Monday

I was up but not early enough... so I only ran 9K.

I was home and showered and went down to the van... It was very emotional for me to see the three ladies and the driver... I hugged and bowed to the ladies and the driver... gave them each a four spiritual laws booklet and one of my Mom's hankies... And waved as the van drove off... Yesterday marked the 40th day of my Mom's passing... Yes, 40 days...I came back up and just sat for a while...

I then went down to the recycling and cleaned and posted things to give away... again, a tremendous amount of things... I think someone must be remodeling their house so they are cleaning out stuff... I even got a LV purse... What??? Why would someone toss that??? Sorry, Annie... it's not a wallet...

For the rest of the morning, I sat on the sofa and read... I'd read and then get up and do a chore... this went on until 3pm! I did finish the book, 7 Men by Eric Metaxas. I would highly recommend it. When I downloaded my emails, the Library informed me that a book that I recommended for purchase has arrived. I reserved it... I will be starting another book by Metaxas: his New York Times Bestseller, Bonhoeffer.

It was still hot, but I decided to bake cookies for my MOE Days that will start tomorrow... It would have been better to bake this evening, but we are planning on having Family Time and I want to make sure I don't sleep too late.

I also worked on discussion questions for our church small groups.

Alan was at school all day, trying to finish up his grades and get everything inputted... then he is 'free'...

We had plenty of leftovers, not from the love feast last night, but from when I made grilled ham and cheese and the prayer ride- McDonald's double cheese hamburgers! YIPPY!

A Fulfilling Sunday

I was up and after spending time with Jesus, I went with Alan to the park to pick up my bike. It was still there... I rode around and got a few errands done before getting home. I later posted in on Buy Nothing Taipei and gave my and Alan's bikes away!

I did a load of laundry as the stuff smelled since it has been so hot!

We also had time to talk to Isaiah about his life!

Then at 2:15, we were off to church and had to get everything set up! Isaiah was the worship leader and the translator! The speaker started Step30, an organization that ships shoes to Africa and helps in many other ways! He never graduated from high school and had quite a story to tell!

After dinner, Alan dropped me off at home while they took Fenny home! I went down to the recycling and it was an absolute mess... There were things to give away, which I posted in Buy Nothing! I hope someone will want the stuff!

I was feeling tired... the week has started... I think this heat drains me!

For the next several weeks, I'll be going to Ministry of Education on Tuesdays and Fridays!

I should also wish all the Dads out there: Happy Father's Day!

An Event-filled Saturday

I was up early and went for my run over the hills behind our house as we had a morning baptismal service in this area, which was right near where I ran the Challenge 63K. I gave myself almost 90 minutes, but I got there much sooner... It wasn't that bad! So, I hit 61.9K this week! That's pretty good considering how it's getting so hot here...

The baptismal service went well... and we hung around for a bit, soaking our feet in the cool fresh stream water. I wish I had brought a large trash bag as there was a lot of trash that people were not considerate about disposing!

We were home by 10 and I took a quick shower and went to donate blood. I got there by 11:17 and the line was outrageously long. I was so glad that I brought a book to read!

I was home by 12:57, just in time to see Isaiah off as he was meeting Fenny for afternoon tea at Caesar Park. It's part of their one-year celebration! Isaiah said he is going to challenge her about making a decision for Christ... but I'm not sure if that's really going to happen!

It was a hot afternoon and I did some tidying up and did not have time to take a nap.

At 3:30 we went off to the Prayer Bike and Picnic! Unfortunately, the food items that I had ordered did not arrive in time... only the chips came... I couldn't believe it! I prayed that others brought other items... and they did...

The ride was for 21K and then we had McDonald's hamburgers and bubble milk tea drinks... and people brought different snacks to share with one another. The focus for this ride was Perfect Love... how we need that these days with all that you read in the news!?!?!

A Different Friday!

I was up and ran my 10K in what felt like a sauna... think of trying to run inside a sauna!

Then I took out a stack of maybe 7 folders... and that took an hour and a half and I threw away just 2cm of papers! Everything was so interesting. I found Mom's application for joining the KMT. I found my report cards from Marshall Junior High School and all the letters from the principal to say that I made the Honor Roll... ha, ha, ha... I didn't know I was kind of smart... and then I found the essays I wrote...

So, Alan was home and since my tutoring cancelled... WE HAD A WHOLE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, we had several things to do: dropping off books at church, picking up a book at the library, donating a monitor (I got 100NT$ from the recycling center!), buying another soda stream fizz container (with the heat, we are drinking lots of soda stream water), and bread to make grilled ham and cheese sandwiches for this weekend... and we had lunch at a hot pot place... delicious... It was about 10US$ per person... all you can eat for drinks and desserts!

We also drove to where the baptism will be held at the stream near Alan's school... We came home at the same time as Isaiah!

We were too full for dinner, but I had prepared things already for Isaiah!

And in world news... Israel retaliated against Iran's support of Hamas... and Iran sent drones into Israel... Gas prices will go up... tension will rise... People around the world are on high alert... More prayer is need!

A Tossing Thursday!

I was up early and the clouds were abounding... The run was so much better... and the rain started later on in the morning.

I ran my 10K and was home to take a shower and take time to rest! I was thinking about going down to see the ladies in the van... but still couldn't...

I ate a great breakfast and sat and read and then worked on tossing paper stuff... Not an easy task...

The day flew by...

It was sprinkling all day... so I decided not to venture out, although I had originally intended on going out to pick up a book from the library, drop off books at church, take Alan's cap and gown to the dry cleaning and go to the computer recycling center (get money for the old monitor!).

It was just nice to sit and read...

I did go down to the recycling several times as I had baskets full of paper goods to get rid of... Of course, if you look at our study, you can't tell what I've worked on today... Oh well... it's difficult to throw away some of the essays from 1979-1982 and 1984-1986, not to mention all of my lesson planning books and collections of ideas! Ha, ha, ha...

A Miraculous Wednesday!

I was up early... and yes, it was still not early enough... I finished my 10K... albeit... SLOW!

Then I was home to take a quick shower and went down to clear out the recycling! It always feels so great when everything is picked up!

I went back upstairs and ate a nice breakfast... my homemade papaya seeds/mango peel raisins and dates muffins! They are really quite good!

At 10:05, I took off to take the MRT to see Elaine for our once a month share and prayer time!

So, when I first got on, the MRT was packed. But after a few stops a seat was available, so I sat down. I got out my cell phone and thought about how I was going to contact a friend from the UK who is here for a few days. And to my utter surprise, I heard my name called and there she stood right in front of me! WOW! She was taking her mother to the zoo... but the timing of it... and to get into that particular car at that particular moment! I had a flashback of when I took my mom to the zoo... on the MRT... and then I found out why she was back. Her dad passed away... and three hours before he passed, he was alert and came to receive Jesus and was baptized. Miraculous! We talked all the way to the zoo... and then I took the MRT back to meet up with Elaine. I was only about 7 minutes late!

After our time together, I took the MRT back home and had time to nap before tutoring at 4:30. That went well... and I was heading back home, stopping to pay a few bills.

This evening, Alan had two meetings online. Isaiah went to play basketball. I was going to work on tossing more paperwork but instead watched a few detectives TV shows.

A Blaring Hot Tuesday!

I was up early and ran my 10K... in the heat! I made it home!

I took a shower and got things together and at 8:45,  headed to church for my Bible study!

We had six ladies today... And it was nice to be together in the AC!

We finished at 12:30. I got home just minutes before Alan came back. I fixed him the leftovers from my Bible study: yes, more pasta salad! It was perfect as the heat was suffocating!

I decided to bake some muffins... very unique muffins: using papaya seeds, mango peel, raisins, and dates! They came out super good! I only made 7!

We had a nice dinner at home... finishing up things! I had the leftover Cobb salad from last night!

I also started to look at possible studies to adapt for Soochow Bible study next school year! And I looked and my Tuesday morning will finish this study on Ephesians by the end of the year... so we will have to put together something new for that group!

A Typical Monday!

I was up early and the run was not pleasant... but I ran into Kathryn. She was on her bike, going through the route for Saturday's prayer bike & picnic event! That was so nice...

I was home and Alan came back at the same time from his run. So, we went downstairs and carted up the books (more than 250), electronics, clothes and containers. I took a shower and proceeded to post things to give away. Of course, I also tested everything and cleaned things up!

I had a nice breakfast of fried eggs and raisin bread and settled to read a bit before pushing forward with another chore. I put a load of laundry in and prepped for my Bible study tomorrow.

I also started to cook: chicken for the pasta salad.

After a light lunch, I rested and then took off early for tutoring. I dropped off books and got gas and found a scooter parking place. The hour went by so quickly.

When I came out, I saw a cop giving a scooter a ticket... I was like: hum??? Was it because it parked poorly? And then I noticed the yellow license plate. Motorcycles with red and yellow license plates must park in a car parking space! YIKES!

On the way home, I stopped at Carrefour and bought mayonnaise and a bag of veggies!

Yes, I got home and finished cooking for tonight's potluck and tomorrow's Bible study. The pasta salad was great... and I just made a box of Mac and Cheese and added extra cheese! The chicken was quite nice, too!

I got back from my potluck and we had Family Time... I was really sleepy!

A Packed Sunday!

I was up early and the day was filled with one thing after another...

Isaiah asked me to help with the Young Adults Morning Service since he wasn't going to be around. I was just to take and place the orders and pick up and drop off... but then the person in charge of the service had a conflict: she was serving at her church this morning. So, I was invited to put together the content part of the service. I wanted to work together with another young adult, but she had a severe muscle back strain. She could barely walk. We prayed and by yesterday afternoon, she was feeling better... So we talked last night to plan for this morning's service!

I headed out early as I wanted to pick up a book from the library. But I'm so glad I did as the restaurant was super busy and it took them 30 minutes to fill the order. I went to church and started to set up! I went to pick up everything and then prayed with the gal and everyone arrived.

The service went well... I stayed to clean up and then scootered home, only to get back in the car to head back to church for the afternoon service! I first stopped at Ms. Hsieh to pick up nice sets of pajamas that we are donating to the Philippines!

Most everything was already set... but the worship team was short on a translator. So, I step in! I was also the translator for the MC and the message!

After the service, I met with the gal in charge of the Prayer Bike and Picnic to go over where we'd be stopping for Saturday's event!

On the way back home, we dropped off the pajamas as the boxes are being packed tomorrow and picked up more goodies for Annie that I had ordered! I will be ordering more stuff next month!

We were home and I put everything away and worked on shredding Mom's documents! Isaiah helped which made the whole process much faster. I went down to throw away the paper stuff and of course, the recycling area was a mess!

I checked my emails. I blogged. I prayed with a gal and headed off to bed after I set up for my tutoring tomorrow!

A Nice Saturday...

I was up early and the run was not nice... It was 25 but felt like 31... I finished the week with 63.3!

I was home and trimmed my hair and took a nice shower. I always check the recycling. There was a nice big plastic container and two jackets.

Isaiah took off for his weekend trip with co-workers. Alan came home and got ready for the graduation ceremony at Soochow.

I called and ordered boxes and then called Ms. Hsieh. She was booked all day but had 90 minutes from 10:30 to 12noon. I scootered over! So wonderful! I brought things to give to her: a nice t-shirt and a sweater. I also brought more stuff to donate! YEAH!

I bought bananas on the way home as I will be baking for the MOE!

After getting home, I packed up the bananas in the freezer and had a nice simple lunch! I had the house all to myself!

I spent the time planning for tomorrow's morning service as Isaiah can't be there and the other person assigned will be at her church serving! So, they offered it to me... I will cohost it with another gal!

Smog Check Done!

I was up early and went out for the usual 10K before it got muggy and hot...

I took my usual fast shower and started cleaning the house. I reorganized the bags and realized that we have way too many bags... cloth bags, nylon bags, big bags, small bags, toiletry bags... you name it, we've got multiple ones... I did not toss anything... just organized!

I also did the floor...

Alan was back and after he took a shower, we went out for lunch... and then we went to see the DollarStar: a new dollar store. The selection of stuff was very limited! Oh well... Not like Daiso!

We were home by 3pm and I had tutoring at 5:30 today, not 4:30, as the younger son went to London with the parents! That was a blessing as I had time to rest!

This evening, I had prayer time with the two gals as we didn't do it on Monday evening!

A Slow Thursday!

I was up early and went out for my 10K... albeit, slow... but the weather was quite nice... not blaring hot!

I got back and took a shower and settled on the couch to read. I got four different books... and that was just perfect!

I ate a nice and slow breakfast and read and rested until 3pm, when I finally went out to run a few errands. I was back by 4pm. And the rain started.

Alan and Isaiah went to the basketball playoff game as our friend's son, Sam, is playing... He was voted the Rookie of the Year! His team has lost two games already... so they needed to win tonight's game. I get too excited at these games, and I also had tutoring! It's our last time as we're taking the summer off.

While tutoring, the flying termites started to come in, so I had to rush out to the living room and turn off the lights.

After tutoring, I had a delicious dinner: rice noodles with cabbage and hard boiled eggs and chicken!

One thing I forgot to mention was about something that happened yesterday:

On the way back from tutoring, the narrow lane that I was on was extremely congested. This is typical, but not like last night. The cars were backed up and when the lights turned green, nothing moved. Riding a scooter has lots of advantages and one was that I can weave in and out. So, when I got to the intersection, I saw the situation. The cars couldn't move because right in the middle of this lane was an elderly lady with her daughter. They had a cane, an umbrella and a small suitcase with wheels. But this elderly woman could not walk. She was just stopped in the lane and cars could not go by her. A policeman finally came. He attempted to give her a piggy back ride. But she could not hold on. I immediately saw the situation and parked my scooter and went over to help. I lifted her on to his back and stood behind her while the policeman walked her to the sidewalk. The daughter, who was about 55 years old, wheeled the suitcase and held her cane and umbrella. It took the two of us to get to the intersection! When we put her down, the policeman left and I walked to my scooter. I looked at the daughter and gave her a thumbs up and she responded in like. I could tell she was so very appreciative.

How grateful I felt that Mom was never in that state.
