Landed in Taipei on Saturday at around 1:05pm. Alan and the kids came to the International Airport to pick me up. It was so wonderful to see them and to have them help me with the boxes as I hadn't really slept much for the duration of the flight back. Twelve plus hours from LA to Seoul, a five hour layover in Incheon, and then another two-hour flight to Taiwan... I didn't watch any of the movies. I did eat the meals that were served. And I was blessed with time in the Asiana Business Lounge!
The house needed cleaning, but I had boxes to unpack, things to get ready for the two different Sunday services, emails to answer and mail to open... I finally went to bed at 11:30!
By 3:46am, I was up. Even though I had less than five hours of sleep, I felt very alert. The weather was perfect for the morning service as I gave a short message on prayer and then took the congregation on a prayer walk. I stayed for lunch!
Upon getting back home, Alan was ready to leave as he wanted to get to church in order to have time to set things up for the special Children's Day Service. I was hoping for a short nap. Oh well... I had my nap in the car!
The service was a total blast. The message and activity that Alan prepared were spot-on! The Love Feast was fabulous. The surprise snacks that I brought back from the states were a hit. And the Photo Booth that I had ordered was the perfect way to wrap up the evening!
We got home by 8:30 and Abby and I went to visit Ariel and Robert as Caleb was running a fever and missed the special Children's Day Service.
I then spent the rest of the evening putting things away! By 12:30, I was very ready for bed! I think I'm going to be up early again tomorrow... and spend the day putting the house in order. Mopping the floor, dusting, scrubbing... and I have a set of test to finish up!
This week looks like another busy one! But how wonderful it is to be back in Taipei! With cooler weather, I might even have time to go for a run or a bike ride!

Last Day Before Blast-off
As expected, it was a tremendously busy day.
From morning to evening, I didn't have time to do 'nothing'.
I went to Costco and even helped a friend to get her shopping done.
I cooked several dishes so that the frig would be nicely stocked.
I met with a friend for prayer as she is going through a rough patch.
Then I had to tutor.
We had guests here for dinner and I got busy with cleaning the kitchen and doing another load of clothes.
I still have a few things to pack... and off to bed.
It will be an early morning tomorrow! I think I'll sleep on the plane! This will be my last post for now. I will be 'radio-silent' until I'm back in Taiwan!

Rushing to Get Things Done!
I can't believe that I'm leaving on Thursday!
I wrote down all that I needed to get done today. And when the day started, I thought NO WAY. But by God's grace, I got through the to-do list, including changing the kids' bedding and doing another load of clothes. I also had to teach tonight at NSB.
I have my list all ready for tomorrow! And it's a LONG one!

Double Ten Day
I was so happy that today was a holiday.
I started with catching up on housework.
Isaiah had practice in the morning and the coach made the team stay at school to study in the afternoon.
Abby stayed home to study.
After getting some housework done, I went for a quick run. It wasn't raining but it was relatively cool.
In the afternoon, Alan and I went to visit a dear couple, Irwin and Stephanie. Irwin has a very rare form of cancer and it has now started to attack his vital organs. The western doctors gave him nine months to live. We are fervently praying for God to heal him. After reading this, I invite you to, please, pray for Irwin Jao!
It was difficult for both of us to see him. Alan was about to cry when we first walked into their dining room where Irwin was sitting. He has lost some weight. He has no energy. Irwin was part of Alan's first discipleship group here in Taiwan. I led Stephanie to Christ and she later joined my discipleship group. We were all a part of Evergreen International Fellowship.
On October 1st, they celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary. That was the same day when Irwin started to feel very bad -- swollen tongue, bloated abdomen, lack of appetite, vomiting. They have decided to seek holistic medicine as the western doctors have said that 'it's too late' because Irwin is so physically weak.
God gave Irwin his first breathe and He knows when Irwin will take his last. We trust in His mercy and love and grace and goodness.

Raining Sunday... Double Service Sunday...
It was a nice ride to the Chinese church this morning as it was not raining. I got there in record time.
This afternoon the rain started...
But it was nice to be at our HOP service. And the Love Feast was delicious as I ordered from a new place.
Tomorrow is a holiday, so people enjoyed hanging around, no one being in a hurry to go home.
How nice!

A Longer Run in the Rain!
Yes, even though it was an extremely busy day, one of my NSB students invited me to go for a run with him.
So, at 3:45 it started to sprinkle and we met up at the park. We ran for 10 kilometers and half way through our run, it started to pour. I love running in the rain. So, I was able to run for a total of 15km and it felt great. It wasn't too hot and the rain was so refreshing. Next time I told him, if I had more time, we can go for a longer run!
