US Election Results & Duck Luncheon!

I was up early but not early enough. With the nicer cooler weather, I have been wanting to run longer... So now, I don't go immediately... I can actually wait until after Mom leaves...

And that's what I did... I ran 12.7K and felt really good.

I was home and headed to WGE for a shower as our water pressure was weird!

Then I had a feast with a friend, who treated me to duck! I love duck. I love lamb. And she always gives me all the leftover!

I was home and got everything ready for tutoring. I took a Power Nap!

And tutoring well...

I was home and got Mom to bed and had tutoring at 7:30.

By 10pm, I was tired.

Tomorrow is my Sabbath! And no typhoon day... YIPPY!

As of the time of this blog, the States could not announce a definitive winner even though it looked like Trump won! I'm not sure what's going on!

Cooler Tuesday!

I was up and ran my 8k. It was cool, but not cold!

Then, Mom Care. She was hyper... singing and talking...

After she left, I cleaned up and went to my morning Bible study! YEAH! Everyone came!

We had a feast.

I had called in the morning about getting a massage and she was available. So, off I went for a 90 minute massage. Annie will have a chance to enjoy... hopefully, the first day that she arrives as the vacation starts and no one will be working!

I paid a few bills and got home by 3:15. I will stop at WGE after my evening Bible study as I had too much stuff with me! I put everything away and got started with 'work'!

Mom was back and after she finished her dinner and I put her to bed, I headed out for my evening Bible study!

Another Catch-Up Monday!

I was up super early as the boys were up at 2am for the Chargers game. They won! I am not sure what the score was...

I went out for my 8k and the weather was actually warm!

Then it was a quick shower before getting Mom up.

And Annie got her ticket to come during the Chinese New Year break:

January 24th to February 3rd! Those are the dates when Mom has no day care. Isaiah also has his break! Alan will be in the States! James and Eddie are considering if they will be dropping in.

After Mom left, I was checking the recycling and making sure that the cleaning lady was on task.

I prayed with Alan and he left and I sat down to work!

The morning went by too quickly. I was out the door by 1:37 to tutor!

Tutoring always goes by so quickly and I always go long! I was home by 4pm and sat down again to get things done before Mom came home.

Tonight, I had a phone call with our pastor and then prayer time with two sisters.

I also made egg salad for sandwiches for my Bible study tomorrow morning. At least I don't have Soochow Study, or else it would be a triple study day!

A Super Sunday...

I was up early and went out to get some errands done plus a stop at WGE.

I also took down the clothes and put everything away.

Isaiah and Alan went to play tennis.

I got Mom up and she ate her sesame paste breakfast.

At church I gave her snacks, too!

I didn't have to translate. It was nice!

I helped with set up and I brought dragon fruit for everyone to enjoy! Two other sisters brought snacks. So, again we had an abundance of goodies!

After Mom went to bed, I checked the recycling and had prayer time with another sister. Then I worked on my talk for November 17th.

I was so ready for bed...

A Smooth Saturday

I was up early and out for my 8k, finishing the week with 51.14! Even though the weather was nice, I did not have the time to go long!

I was home and went to WGE for a shower and a quick workout. Then it was home for some solitude. I didn't get Mom to bed until 9pm, hoping to give myself more time this morning.

Alan was playing tennis and Isaiah was coaching tennis.

I had the house to myself.

I finished my Simplicity study and just took the time to sit and contemplate.

Alan went to the Soochow free book shelves and took pictures for me. I asked him to get four books: two are for my students and two looked nice and old. One of the books might be worth at least 100US$ and the other one might be even more, even though the binding is coming off! Bleak House by Charles Dickens!

I got Mom up and she enjoyed her food... And she ate it fast!

Isaiah had an online Zoom session as he missed his discipleship group last week. Alan was home, reading a book! I gave him three books to read as I think it's better to stimulate his brain cells than reading from the computer. He is on the computer way too much, reading the sports page!

This evening we didn't have any appointments. I got Mom to bed and I watched a mystery TV show.

Prayer time at 9pm!

Of course, I also worked on the recycling and doing laundry and cleaning the house!

What A Fabulous Friday!

I was up early... and it was just so nice... I love solitude!

I did go for my run and I had to be really careful as there was debris everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I came back and took a quick shower and was on DUTY with Mom Care.

After she left, I checked the recycling and went to WGE.

I was home and Alan and I went out to lunch at the Blessed Table. The owner is a member of TIC and we wanted to support her business. The lunch was expensive and the portion was small. So, Alan had to go to his favorite restaurant for more food, plus lots of drinks from Coco!

We came home early and I had to take a nap. Then the Mom informed me that they'd like to change the time to 4:30 on Friday. So, off I went and there was no rain... YIPPY!

Tutoring went well...and hopefully she's going to pay me as I gave her my account information!

I was home and I had dinner in the electric pot... It was so yummy.

I again decided to put Mom to bed later as I won't get her up at the usual time since it's a Saturday morning!

I watched a Hallmark Murder Mystery... FUN, FUN, FUN!

Partial Sabbath...

7:30I was up and out and ran my 8k. It was sprinkling with a few gusts of strong wind... and it was much warmer than I'd have liked...

I came home and took a shower and decided to wait to wake my mom up...

I sat and read... SO DELIGHTFUL. I also did my simplicity study...

I made Mom some sesame paste cereal... It turned out really delicious... I could have eaten the whole pot by myself!

I went down to check on the recycling area... the leak was pretty bad, so the area had a lot of water. I got the security guard to get buckets and he will have to check every two hours.

We still have leftover from last night's hot pot that I made...

It seems as if everyone just stayed home...

I had tutoring at 7:30pm and no Family Time as Abby was pressing forward with helping Bella...

But I'm happy to say: TOMORROW WILL NOT BE A TYPHOON DAY!

Daily Lovely Insight:

I read this great idea today from a professor at Biola University:

Begin each morning in intimate communion with the Lord and a Morning Prayer of Intention… then every day consistently pray your way through each of the 150 Psalms, once in the words of Scripture, once in your own words…. and then close each day with a nightly prayer of examine.

The theologian, Timothy Keller, who may have been the CS Lewis of our times, he stopped and prayed 5 psalms a day, throughout the day, every day, for the last 20 years of his life. That's praying through all 150 Psalms, every single month, 12 months of the year — year after year, for 20 years.

Maybe I will try this for 2025?!?!?!
